I am working on my Halloween font collection and realised I did not have a ‘blood drip font’. So, I bought a second hand typewriter and typed all the glyphs. Then I made the blood drips using syrup, paper and gravity! The result is a halloween font with a twist!

This set of typefaces was produced in conjunction with the Guggenheim Museum and the Josef Albers Foundation. Josef Albers was one of the most important artists and educators of the twentieth century. He was a member of the Bauhaus first as a student and then as a teacher from 1920 until its closing in 1933. He then moved to America, where he continued making art and teaching at numerous institutions until his death. Known principally as an abstract painter, he was also an accomplished designer, draftsman, typographer, and photographer. His works explore permutations of form, color, and perception using a restricted visual vocabulary. Created when he was at the Bauhaus, his Kombinationschrift alphabets exemplify the school's ethos. Using 10 basic shapes based on the circle and the rectangle, he created a system of lettering that was meant to be efficient, easy to learn, and inexpensive to produce. Lunanic is a geometric novelty typeface family with a touch of graffiti. The letters are formed from a circle with a notch or nick taken out, a shape that reminds me of a partial lunar eclipse. Half of the family have the nick on the left and half on the right. The faces are monospaced and so tightly spaced that there is no space between most of the letters so the filled styles cannot be used alone without tweaking. There are several ways to tweak them to make them readable: adjacent letters can be colored differently, the characters spacing can be increased, or an outlined style can be layered on top of the filled letters. The family does not have a true lower case. Most of the characters in the lower-case slots are alternates for those on the upper-case keys and they can be mixed in whatever way the user finds best. The family has twelve members: two orientations with three weights each and each of these six has an outline style to go with it. Bapalopa is inspired by classic graffiti "blockbuster" letter forms. These letters are made to look as big and as wide as possible. Bapalopa's linework is kept very loose & relaxed, mostly smooth with some distressed edges. Viewed up-close, there is lots of texture from the individual pen strokes which gives Bapalopa it's cool freehand drawn look. Use "Bapalopa" and "Bapalopa Pa" together to create eye catching designs. To make it extra fun, a handful of the largely useless alternates, (like that dumb "currency" symbol) were replaced with big blocky hearts, stars, and arrows. Check it out! Payload began as an early concept for Loaded magazine, and here is developed into a clean outline and rough splattery spraycan version. In this font, the upper and lower case characters are subtly different enabling a more realistic appearance to be achieved by ßipping between cases whenever characters occur together in pairs. Wide and Narrow styles of this popular font have been subsequently been added. This font is reminicent of military stencilling, urban graffiti and freight packaging. The "Outline" version, as before, is a carefully weighted addition where the thickness of the stroke is identical to the stencil gap. It has also been respaced and rekerned to allow for the additional character spread.
