Inklination is a new grotesque that goes against the 'genre rules' and has a low x-height. It breathes quite better than larger x-height typefaces, with the sensation of air and more whitespace. This, combined with long ascenders and descenders, makes it look luxurious, elegant and refined. Though there are many thousands of digital typefaces available, none seem to be made exclusively of letters that tessellate, a complete tessellating alphabet. This void is now filled with not one typeface, but a group of typefaces, the Tescellations kinship group. Even though I am aware of only one use for this typeface--writing about tessellations--that does not mean there are not hundreds or perhaps thousands of other uses. These typefaces are a byproduct of two maze books I designed, Puzzling Typography and Puzzling Typography A Sequel. I found the challenge of making mazes from tessellations, including letter tessellations, intriguing and these typefaces are a byproduct that endeavor. There are seven members of this typeface kinship group. I tried to select the the glyphs that fit together best to form Tescellations; it is the most readable of the lot. The reason for an Italics version is that I needed one for the maze project. In constructing it, I tried to include as many different lower-case glyphs as I could rather than just skew the regular version. A purist might insist that the tessellation deal with the counters. My approach was to worry only about the exterior of any letter that has an interior, but for anyone who who might object to the counters, versions with filled counters are included. What did not fit into Tescellations was dumped into Tescellations Two, which is somewhat of a ransom-note type of face. It comes in two styles, a regular version and a version in which the counters are removed. TescellationPatterns shows how many of the characters in these typefaces tessellate. It has over 100 tessellation patterns, each on only one character. Simply type several lines with any character and make sure the leading is the same as the font size, and you have an instant tessellation pattern of a letter.

Monospasz means mono-fun in English. It's spelled with 'sz' instead of 'ß' for all you english speaking folks out there who always mistake it with a 'B'. Monospaced fonts keep on drawing attention to them because their proportions stand out from the canon of common fonts. "Yuck. Look at the condensed little m. Isn't that ludicrous?" But Monospasz isn't copycatting traditional typewriters, the most popular of monospaced fonts. It's completely manually ink-written and hand crafted. Monospasz has been designed and first used for the third incarnation of our annual Weimar based typography symposium dubbed "TypograVieh lebt" in the summer 2006.

I seem to be in my comic book font fase. It's not that I have tons of comics lying around (I actually have none), but when I was a kid, I used to read them all the time. Laser Eyes is a handmade comic book font. It is a little rounded, a little fat and very useful. You don't really have to put it to work in an actual comic book; it will feel at home just about anywhere. Laser Vision comes with two sets of alternate glyphs that cycle as you type, plus extensive language support, including Cyrillic and Vietnamese.

Monospaced but no mono space. Created from 2002 to 2007 this font family is influenced by fonts like OCR-B, DIN and the work of Erik Spiekermann. Newsletter is not a real monospaced font but has the ease of recognition these fonts have - even though these fonts are often criticized for their aesthetic qualities. Newsletter has a computer-related impression but is more legible and aesthetic than real monospaced fonts are. Since 2006 Newsletter is the corporate font of the design agency "die Typonauten". It is eminently suitable for correspondence use. After a testing period and fine tuning it is now published.

My goal with this font was to create an easy-to-read script font that would work for a variety of purposes. The inspiration for Mimosa comes directly from the packaging for “Moulinard Jeune”, a line of French toiletries from the 1920s. I created the 240-odd glyphs needed to make up a complete font based upon the style of a handful of hand-lettered characters that were used on the original items. Mimosa is a mono-weight, connecting vertical script with a fairly regular set of lower case and slightly more decorative upper case glyphs. As with any decorative script, if you set copy in all caps, you will be tracked down and severely punished by the type police.

Meguro Sans has a modern-styled boxy shape that achieves clean, industrial yet friendly style lends itself well to brand building. Sans or serif? Square or rounded? Calligraphic or geometric? With the famous and much used Eurostile and Bank Gothic in my mind I wanted to design a mono-line font as simple and legible as possible. A square with rounded corners, i.e., the letter ‘o’ as its basis. From there on back to basics, so straights remained simple straights with 90° endings, whatever the angle. Numbers are monospaced. The result seems to be a pleasantly balanced and neutral font. Excellent for display purposes and surprisingly legible in even small sizes. This perhaps typical approach by an architect led to the name of the font: ArchiType.

Sondela is a gently rounded, informal font, whose name means "welcome" or "come closer". It echoes the openhearted tradition of the Zulu people, where all who come are welcome. The font is available in regular and display (Pizazz) versions. Sondela Pizazz incorporates the zig-zag pattern that has been used in traditional Zulu beadwork for generations. It is highly effective when used in conjunction with the unadorned Sondela regular. The numerals are mono-spaced so that they will line up correctly in columns of figures. The letters of the alphabet are correctly kerned so that they appear correctly in text.

American type designer Susanna Dulkinys created this display and sans FontFont in 1999. Aristotelica Pro is the 2020 redesign of the rounded geometric sans designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini and Andrea Tartarelli developing the original philosophy of one of the classic and best-selling Zetafonts typefaces, Arista by Francesco Canovaro. The original Avenir typeface was designed by Adrian Frutiger in 1988, after years of having an interest in sans serif typefaces. The word Avenir means “future” in French and hints that the typeface owes some of its interpretation to Futura. But unlike Futura , Avenir is not purely geometric; it has vertical strokes that are thicker than the horizontals, an “o” that is not a perfect circle, and shortened ascenders. These nuances aid in legibility and give Avenir a harmonious and sensible appearance for both texts and headlines. In 2012, Akira Kobayashi worked alongside Avenir’s esteemed creator Adrian Frutiger to bring Avenir Next to life, as a new take on the classic Avenir. In designing a font that had a Mayan or Aztec quality to it without the usual "Mariachi" look, I decided to make it single weight with some open ends and offbeat rounded serifs to give it a more serious feel which will lend itself to other non ethnic uses. I have added a few discretionary ligatures, which also contain old-style numerals, titling caps and small caps.
