Tusker Grotesk is a headline typeface designed for robust and high-impact use. Other influences in the condensed end of the Tusker family are old grotesques like Folio Extra Condensed and Stephenson Blake Elongated Sans No.1 with their flat terminals and closed-up apertures. Online auctions offer a myriad of unique, vintage and novel lettering devices – all which are fertile ground for typographic inspiration. In this instance, a set of stamped metal letters for outdoor signage was the basis for Stamped Metal JNL. Some of the non-traditional letter weights makes these simple block letters a wonderful change of pace for bold, attention-getting headlines.

An offering from Barnhart Brothers & Spindler’s Catalog No. 9 from 1907, with the rather prosaic name of "Lining Gothic No. 71", inspired this non-nonsense and surprisingly ageless face. As versatile as it is simple, this typeface is a stylish choice for heads and subheads. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

IngyStarTilings allows one to create a variety of patterns that have stars. Some of them are quite common and others less so. A sample file is available that shows possible patterns that can be constructed with this typeface, including some non-star repeating patterns. As the posters indicate, some of the patterns constructed with the regular version are intended to be multicolored.

Awkward Gothic JNL gets its name from the fact that it's a non-conformist alphabet - as if rendered by hand by a school child or an amateur lettering artist. Although there is a relative symmetry to most of the letter forms, some unconventional widths and the shape of many of its characters adds to the hand-made look of this alphabet.

Random Thoughts is a selection of of quite simple handmade capital letters. They are legible, almost mono-lined, handmade and they are a bit jumpy - but never the less, they suit a headline that needs a catchy look very fine! I've included 4 different versions of each letter. One lowercase, one uppercase and two contextual alternates. These 4 different versions automatically cycle as you type, leaving your text quite random - but still very clear and legible! And, of course, there is multilingual support!

Vin (translated from Ukrainian as “he”) is a superfamily consisting of three robust typefaces with pronounced vertical stems and rounded corners. All three typefaces feature very large x-height for even more expression and assertiveness. Vin Slab Pro is a condensed rigid slab-serif with extra-large x-height and rounded corners. It is designed specifically for short texts to add significance and emphasis. Be sure to check other two typefaces of Vin superfamily: Vin Sans Pro and Vin Mono Pro .

COLÓN is a Slab Serif type family of three weights with matching italics. The typeface design was influenced by the nostalgia for the aesthetic of a typewriter. Colón extended family consists of two sub-families: Colón Mono with monospaced glyphs sets, and Colón (proportional glyphs sets) which is presented in these specimen pages. Colón is released in OpenType format with extended support for most Latin languages, and includes some opentype features – such as proportional/tabular figures, slashed zero, ligatures, fractions, etc.

Brotherline is a connected script built from a single bold mono-line, inspired by hand-lettering style and various calligraphy letterforms.The first idea with this font is to create a font for Logotypes. Curves are smooth and flow with very nice circle shapes. This font is great for logos, logotypes, packaging, and store-front or signboard. NOTE: To access the alternate glyphs, you will need a program that supports OpenType Features. Activate the Ligature (liga) and Contextual Alternates (calt) for better experience.

No, I am not leaving and none of my friends or relatives have packed up and left. I needed a more ‘letter-like’ name for this font and I found Adieu Mon Ami (farewell, my friend in French). Adieu Mon Ami is a handmade pencil font that will add that extra ‘je ne sais quoi’ to your designs. It comes with joie de vivre, un petit peu de vilain, but can be doux comme de la soie as well. Four years in the making Rodeo Roundup is a very ornate script font where the letters look like a flowing rope with connecting lowercase letters. Due to the high amount of detail in this and other FontMesa fonts some applications may have difficulty displaying the letters larger than 100 point size.
