Cowhand is a display typeface designed by Toshi Omagari to keep words at one specific width. Kris Holmes and Charles Bigelow designed Lucida Console in 1993 for on-screen console and terminal emulation windows that needed monospaced fonts with sturdy letter shapes. Chapman is the result of spending too many hours staring at the often all-capital engraver typefaces from long-gone foundries.
