After inventing a new metal typecasting procedure that allowed for the production of more detailed typefaces, the famous German typefoundry D. Stempel AG developed Kuenstler Script in 1902 - 1903. Originally called Kunstlerschreibschrift (artistic handwriting), this design was based on English copperplate script styles from the late 1800s. In 1957, Hans Bohn added the heavy Kuenstler Script Black weight to the family. Like intricate handwriting put to paper with a feather and an inkwell, Kuenstler Script makes almost any text look distinguished and elegant. Kuenstler Script is a joining script; and because of its fine hairlines and small x-height, it is best used at sizes above 12 pt. The typeface works well in advertising work and on invitations, greetings cards, business cards, and certificates.

Stu is based on the penmanship of the late Raoul "Stu" Stuart. Raoul's penmanship was always admired by those who saw it; it was a first glimpse into the artistic and creative side of an otherwise easy-going, funny guy. The print variants exude a soft yet masculine feel, while the scripts evoke a sense of sentimentality and romance. Stu features dingbats which say something about Raoul: affectionate and romantic (heart), a big coffee drinker (coffee cup), a great cook (spoon and fork), a music lover (musical note), and a prankster (winking smiley). The Parliament typeface was designed by Jonathan Hoefler beginning in 1995. A burlesque typeface in the Regency Blackletter style, Parliament was inspired by the ‘Four-line Pica Black No. 1’ typeface of William Caslon Jr (1821), whose enigmatic design for the letters E, G, I, N, V and Y hinted at a broader ambition to modernize the arcane shapes of the gothic alphabet’s capital letters. Parliament completes this project for the first time by including two sets of alphabets, one archaic and one modern, along with a third set of ‘small caps’ that restores to the blackletter the versatility of Roman type. Parliament was first used for the 1998 ATypI Conference in Lyon, and was published by Hoefler&Co in 2022.

Hennigar is a Neo Grotesque sans serif especially useful for display text and headlines. Many of the rounded letters are based on the appearance of the letter O with very little variation in width. Because of it's condensed nature the apertures are narrow with extenders that dip well below the base line. Similarly many of the lowercase characters are based on the lowercase o. The redefinition of a classic In the 1920s the Viennese government decided to standardize the street signs across the city. A typeface was especially constructed for the purpose. It was available in a Heavy and a Bold Condensed version, to support short street names as well as longer ones. As the years went by, the typeface was adopted and redrawn by several enamel factories. These adaptations lead to variations on the design, and to the fact that there isn’t a Viennese street sign font but 16 – in part severely – different versions. Henriette is not a digitization of any of those versions; rather, it is influenced by all of them. The italic versions are completely original and designed to accompany the Roman.

ITC Portago was designed by Luis Siquot, who admits to a tendency toward unusual typefaces that can be read in text yet also work well in display settings. ITC Portago is a robust alphabet of caps and slightly smaller caps. It is a stencil face, based on the lettering on crates and luggage. Siquot says that his intention drawing Portago was to obtain a neutral, classical, very condensed grotesque stencil shape that is readable in text sizes, showing at the same time the 'movement' produced by the nicked edges. And of course the more obvious rough effect in headline sizes." At small sizes, Portago is best set with slightly looser letterspacing, as capital combinations usually do. Trithemius, a 15th century Abbott, and influential counselor to Emperor Maximilian I, was also an author who wrote both histories and the first printed work on cryptography which gained him much adverse notoriety. However, it may have been his intention to cloak his cryptology essays in mystical writing to keep people from easily grasping the subject matter, which it has been recently demonstrated, at heart was really cryptological methodology. Teip, designed by Alex Jacque in 2014, is a layerable geometric typeface system. Teip developed as a typographic exploration of overlapping tape where a over/under, foreground/background interplay would be a stylistic motif throughout. For the most part, the uppercase characters have a vertical stress in the foreground, while lowercase have the horizontal stressed in the foreground. Because this is a unicase typeface, upper and lower case glyphs can be mixed for a more random feel in the shape of individual words and the flow of sentences. Cal Roman Modern is one more font from PKG “Cal” (Calligraphic) group. This time for calligraphic sketches we used a wide brush instead of the iron pen. Instead of minuscule letters, there are Small Caps (which are the same weight as capitals). Because there is no difference in the stroke thickness of capital letters and lowercase capital letters the difference in height is only one pen width, because of that, it is possible to use small capitals together with capital letters without noticing a difference in the thickness of the letters. Cal Roman Modern font is rhythmic, informal elegant, bright and light.
