Mocha Mattari is a distressed font designed based on Bebas Neue released as a free font in 2010. The Original Bebas Neue has an inordinate level of popularity and it has often been used as a web font in recent years. This Mocha Mattari was made by damaging the original and tweaked by hand work. Basically, Mocha Mattari does not have lowercases but alternative Uppercases. Exceptionally “g, m, oz, fl, lb” for “gram, milli, ounce, fluid, pound” can be available by opentype dlig or salt features.

Youbee is a casual serifed font that is highly legible. It has a bit of contrast, but not much. It could be used as book text, but is better suited for less formal uses such as newsletters and pamphlets. Youbee gets its name from it origin, the Ultimate Blend (UB) of four very different typefaces: Euroika, Ingriana, BetterTypeRight, and KampFriendship. The earliest members of the family were constructed in 1996, with a shadow version added in 2011, extra weights in 1999, and two different widths in 2022.

This Charles Borges' script takes full advantage of the Open Type format with several automatic ligatures that occur as you type for a nicer fit. Plus, the manual stylistic alternates allow you to choose the letters you prefer. Alternates occur automatically as you type in supported programs when you have "Ligatures" or "Stylistic Alternates" turned on. If your program does not support automatic ligatures and substitutions, you may still access the alternates manually using the printable keyguide or using Character Map (Windows) or Font Book (Mac).

An ad in the April 19, 1919 edition of Motion Picture News for the (now lost) silent drama "Josselyn's Wife" featured some wonderfully stylized Art Nouveau hand lettering. Primarily a condensed character set with rounded serifs, there are a number of letters that take liberties in both width and character shape. Adding to this, [mostly vertical] parallel lines are cut through the characters to create a "striped' type of "double engraved' effect. Silent Drama JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions. **Uppercase

During the 1960s Hippie movement, a large amount of the rock and roll poster art was strongly influenced by the Art Nouveau period of the early 1900s. A poster for an appearance by The Doors at San Francisco’s Cow Palace Exposition Center (presented by Fillmore East and West owner Bill Graham) featured some wonderfully eclectic Nouveau-styled serif hand lettering. Now recreated as a digital type face called Cow Palace JNL (and named for the performance venue), the font is available in both regular and oblique versions.

ITC Serengeti is a font of narrow, high reaching capital letters designed by Bob Alonso in 1996. In the form of small caps, the letters combine to make words. This font is at the same time modern and nostalgic, with letters like N and M being reminiscent of those on posters in the 1920s. One can also interpret this small caps alphabet as one influenced by the Jugendstil. ITC Serengeti should be used only for headlines and display in point sizes of 18 or larger.

The inspiration source for MFC Sansome Monogram is a decorative serif lettering style that comes from the book Henderson's Sign Painter from 1906. Known as "Rustic Roman" and originally designed by John F. Irwin, this fantastic typeface has been digitally revived and expanded for monogram designs. While the original lettering did not include numerals and was never originally intended for monograms, its ornate nature lends itself so wonderfully to the craft. Carot Text fonts are especially tuned for reading sizes: their serifs have adequate strength and do not cause fatigue when reading long. Originality lies in the tradition revived by modern language. The whole Carot system is built up from what has long been around; in any case, it was the intention: to evoke the already experienced visual reminiscences of today's spectacled people. Collateral Damage is a classic splatter font from the earlier days of the internet. A consistent fan favorite since its initial release in 1999, this ink-dripping font was inspired by the gonzo art of Ralph Steadman. It looks hand-painted, like graffiti. Or crazy scary, like splattered blood. It was made by designer Chris Hunt who lives in the Canadian North with the polar bears. After years as a Chank.com exclusive, it is now available at MyFonts for your personal or commercial use.

A charming font inspired by the Brazilian beloved album for children by Vinicius de Moraes, author of the bossa nova classic 'Garota de Ipanema' (Girl from Ipanema) with his partner Tom Jobim. The font has a cheerful cutout look, as does the original album cover designed by Elifas Andreato in 1980. Arca font is loaded with alternates for a nice natural look and has yet quite cool interlocks. Its complementary font brings handsome graphic elements to add some bossa here and there. It’s big. It’s very big. Spade is a double whammy of pure slab footprint, sharp and soft, cowboy and cowgirl, country and western, shot and chaser, settlement and new frontier. It’s also quite modern in many aspects, not the least of which are the many curvy alternates included, and the smooth flow of the biform shapes when used with the main caps. Clocking in at over 670 characters per font, Spade comes loaded with very comprehensive Latin-based language support and OpenType features up to the hilt.

I don’t think I’m a capricious person, but right now, due to the enormous amount of renovation work on our home, I do get bad moods quite often! Capricious is a hand painted all-caps font: I used my favourite Chinese ink, a brush and very rough paper to get the desired ‘eroded’ effect. It is quite a heavy display font, so I wouldn’t really set a text in it, but it works really well for headlines, catching titles and products that need some pepper!

The Raleigh Hotel at 18th Street and Collins Avenue on Miami Beach is an Art Deco landmark and part of the city's popular tourist district. A vintage matchbook from the hotel had its name hand lettered in what is now Beachfront Hotel JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions. The lower case letters have been made more traditional, eliminating the Deco-influenced "overhangs" present on the capital letters, and an alternate "E" from the original matchbook design is available on the bar and broken bar keys.

Sherbet BF is a robust, bouncy handwritten-style script with an enthusiastic voice. A number of Automatic Ligatures and Contextual Alternates, are included in the font, along with Stylistic Alternates for lowercase letters g, and y. Following the great success of Swissra, the condensed cut was designed on the same principles of Swiss graphic design. Originally Swissra was designed to create a neutral and carefully crafted Arabic font family that can be used on many different applications. Now it creates even more possibilities to help designers in applications such as signage and editorial design where the condensed cut is needed. The typeface is one of very few Arabic condensed typefaces. Swissra Condensed comes in eight weights which range from Ultralight to Black.

Rick's Cafe font is my emulation of those typefaces used in newspapers, it's being inspired from my "NorB TypeWriter" typeface. You may want to use this font with any word processing program for text and display use, print and web projects, apps and ePub, comic books, graphic identities, branding, editorial, advertising, restaurant menus, newspapers, scrapbooking, cards and invitations and any casual lettering purpose… or even just for fun! Rick's Cafe font comes in 4 styles, Normal and Bold each with Italic and Condensed versions.

Toews is a continuation of the work started with Versteeg, Huet, and Niemi. It combines the elements of the letterforms found in Huet and Niemi and uses the letterform outlines to create shapes that intersect with themselves. While Huet and Niemi can easily be outlined in most design programs, Toews outlining would not work smoothly in most programs, which is why an outlined version is available. The two styles are carefully designed to be able to transition from one to another smoothly within the same type field.

The Bitstream version of Bell Gothic designed by Chauncey H. Griffith in 1938 for telephone directories of the Bell Telephone Company. It is a good sans serif choice for listings, catalogues and directories as its design is very space saving. The weight of the line is moderate and uniform. Being a clear and easy-to-read font, Bell Gothic is popular now for display and magazine advertising. Cyrillic version by Isabella Chaeva was released by ParaType in 1999. Italic styles added in 2009 by the same designer.

A deconstructive variation of ”Clarendon“ DéFormé was born out of the distortion of the time-honored ”Clarendon“ letterforms, in which the stems and thin strokes have been reversed. Thus, a typeface was created which will remind some readers of a Western typeface, and others of the ordinary typeface of a typewriter. Actually, it is still a robust Clarendon, which has survived ists disfigurement quite well. DéFormé, like its ”mother“, is easily legible, in spite of the inherent emphasis which one is not used to seeing.

Alter Aves type is the first part of AlterType project – the serie of small display typefaces based on letterings, left-off types and altered foundry typefaces. Alter Aves is display condensed sans-serif typeface with couple of geometric-round letters, serif-styled elements and flat brush strokes. It supports Latin Extended-A (Western, Central Europe, Baltic, Turkish) and Cyrillic encoding languages and minimal opentype features – oldstyle digits, case sensitive punctuation, small-numeric forms and scripted fractions. Fully functional Demo style is distributed free for non-commercial using.

Almanach is a multifunctional, sans-serif font, suitable for a wide range of applications. The universality is it’s strength, but it is not impersonal. It’s character can be felt in the delicately softened endings of letters and in the dancing numbers. The italics is designed in compliance with the rules adequate to the italian sherif typefaces. This is particularly evident in the Cyrillic script, where a lot of characters have a different form than their upright counterparts. Almanach looks familiar. You will surely hit it off.

Fonia is a calligraphic art deco font with feminine touch, unique and exotic. It is designed to be more simple, so it keeps the legibility in different font sizes. You will get a semi-classical typography that does not eliminate the modern concept. Opentype features allow you to mix and match to create a rich and beautiful design. With Fonia, you can create an attractive packaging design, wedding invitations, wine labels or great packaging of beauty products. That will be a really cool design.

DrivEddie was an attempt to create a rough, hand-drawn typeface that was quirky but easily readable. It has a few serifs so it is almost but not quite san serif. All vertical stems are curved. For almost 25 years DrivEddie was a one-font family and one-font families often have limited applications. In 2020 I returned to this typeface to increase its possible uses by adding five new styles: italic, semibold, semibold-italic, bold, and bold-italic. I also corrected mistakes and added characters.

Arx by Superfried is an elegant and intricate display typeface designed for use at large scale. Its Latin name - meaning citadel - connects with the classical features, whilst the phonetic pronunciation nods to the arcs which characterise each glyph. This caps typeface is available in two formats: fade and solid, each featuring two distinct character styles switched via the shift key. Fade features delicate incisions to add depth and the illusion of 3D shading to the arcs. Solid, as its name suggests, is a cleaner, flat alternative.

Rilke, is the lettering used by Gustav Klimt on the 1st Vienna Secession poster in 1898 and is named for Klimt’s contemporary the poet Rainer Maria Rilke. The Vienna Secession was a group of artists whose motto was "to every age its art and to art its freedom." Their goal was to create a new style not based upon any historical influence. Its subtle curving strokes and the idiosyncratic set of the various characters create an elegant lightness which lends itself well to poetry, inscription

In the beginning of his typographic design work, Jeff Levine produced a large number of freeware dingbat fonts utilizing very rudimentary font creation software. Although popular in the world of home crafts, there were many issues inherent with those early font files. Jeff has chosen to clean up and update some of these fonts and make them commercially available. PLEASE NOTE: Refer to the license agreement regarding use of Jeff Levine's art-based fonts. Logos and derivative works made from these fonts are not allowed.

Ornes is inspired by the runic alphabet with ornamentation based on the woodcarvings of the Urnes Stave Church (Norway), an old wooden church from approximately 1150 CE. The woodcarvings and their symbolism reach back to the pre-Christian era. The Ornes Pro styles each contain the runic alphabet, ornamented caps, small caps, ornamented small caps and other pro OpenType features (as shown on the "Pro" tab). Ornes Ornamented Rustic Pro features a subtle uneven lowercase, but does not include a set of regular uppercase characters.

Ryno Slab is a superslab that was born out of a need for an aggressive, heavy, geometric display face that did not appear clunky. Its serifs are so thick, you could create reasonably legible word shapes by using all caps and masking the words out. Ryno Slab’s tough geometric exterior and squarish forms make it suitable for tight setting in posters, t-shirts, and artwork. Also, an extended character set with support for European languages make Ryno Slab a good fit for magazine headlines.

Dubbel Zout in Dutch means ‘Double Salt’. I admit, it sounds better in Dutch… Dubbel Zout is a kind of licorice which we (in Holland) love! Not many people actually like it, but I know of one addict in Denmark, who eats it by the bagful. Dubbel Zout is a ‘crayon-ish’ font - all caps, different upper and lower glyphs that you can mix and a royal assortment of diacritics. It may be an acquired taste, but once you get used to it, you’re hooked!

Opticart is a family of glyphs inspired by Op Art (Optical Art). They include 133 models -- each letter is a subfamily that can combine overlapping (A, a, a.salt and A.swsh) and thus generate more than 365 glyphs, or thousands if we combine different letters or symbols. Opticart is so easy to use, user does not need guidance, just repeat typing [aaaa, bbbb, etc.] or do overlap them and repeat [(a + A) (a + A) (a + A), etc.] You may overlay and combine shapes with colors as you please.

Magazin ST is powerful but delicate. What fascinated me seeing, a couple of letters, in Bob Roy Kelly's book (American Wood Type:1828-1900) were the little squares in the corners that represent a glow from lighting coming from below and from the right. Such ambiguity excited me and I thought that today with digital resources it wouldn't take long to do it. Seeing it working is excellent.
