The Oslo Stitch is a technique used in Nålebinding, a kind of fabric creation predating knitting and crochet. I have no particular interest in Nålebinding (nor in knitting), but I needed a name with ‘stitch’ in it and this is what I found! Oslo Stitch font is a nice, handmade, all caps font, which you can use for your book covers, posters and anything else that needs a bit of stitching up.

First things first: I am really not a Star Trek fan. I did come up with this name, which I thought had a good ring to it. When I checked whether the name was already taken, I found out that Black Cluster is a term from Star Trek. Now you want to know what a Black Cluster is, so just check out poster 2 and read all about it. For me, Black Cluster is a handmade ink font, with a lot of jumping glyphs, a lot of diacritics and a handful of ligatures. It may be rough, but you will be pleasantly surprised by what it can do to a design! May the font be with you. Oh, no, that was from Star Wars…

MacKeller, Smiths and Jordan had a font called Giraffe Wide which we liked, but like many Victorian display fonts it had no lowercase. We fixed that!

When I released Halogen, I asked ‘Who doesn't want or need an expansive contemporary extended sans that has a sense of style and swagger… what if it had a lowercase, small caps and various numeral options… how could you say no?’ Go, click on the Halogen link and read on, if you're interested. Halogen was well-received, so I decided to take it further with Halogen Flare (the name kinda tips you off as to what kind of typeface it is, don't ya think?). As always, I prefer not to take short cuts and provide an anemic offering of glyphs — a modern typeface offered today must provide more than just the basics and this one does — lowercase, smallcaps, old style numerals, tabular forms, stylistic and titling alternates, fractions, case-sensitive features, and even an alternate uppercase ordinal set is included. No, no fantastic story about how I came up with the name for this font. It was a Sunday when I thought up Sunday Thinker. It seemed like the right name and it wasn’t taken yet, so there you have it! Sunday Thinker is a thoughtful font, made with creativity in mind. Personally I think it’d look great on product packaging or book covers, but the font will adapt itself to whatever you think of!
