Carpe Noctem (Latin for ‘Seize The Night’), was a bit of a surprise. Someone asked me if I could create a lower case for my Closet Skeleton font. I began working on it and lo and behold, a beautiful font started taking shape. So, if you’re in need of a slightly scary fairytale font, complete with angled edges, swirly bits, a couple of alternate - even more curly - glyphs and an alternate medieval ampersand, then Carpe Noctem is your typeface!

Noah’s Ark was designed to combine it with the bestiary animal series I designed. A simple font, well harmonized with the highly synthesized designs of animals and insects. So, it seemed natural to use them for posters. Noah's Ark is a stylized font with a constant stroke, which stands between writing and the typeface. Its design is inspired by the fonts used in the 1940s. It is made up of linked letters, excluding numbers and other signs.

In 1903, faced with the welter of sanserif typefaces offered by ATF, Morris Fuller Benton designed News Gothic, which became a 20th-century standard. In 1995 Tobias Frere-Jones studied drawings in the Smithsonian and started a redesign. Cyrus Highsmith reviewed News Gothic, and with the Font Bureau studio expanded it into Benton Sans, a far-reaching new series, with matched weights and widths, offering performance well beyond the limits of the original; FB 1995-2012

Palio is a family of fonts derived from the classic Didone, its capitals are slightly condensed and the lower case definitively abandon the reminiscent of the baroque endings strokes, which are still endure in many typefaces. It is an elegant font especially the slant version that actually is a truly italic. This version very readable and is enriched with a series of alternative variables and swashes that make it more expressive for certain projects that need some flowering.

In 1966 and 1967 a series of weird events spooked Point Pleasant, a small town in West Virginia. Townspeople described a creature that looked like a man, with red eyes and moth-like wings, which appeared at several locations around town. The Mothman myth was born. Mothman font is spooky as well. It is a very scratched and distorted typeface, completely hand drawn, using ink and various sharp utensils. Mothman font will surely leave a lasting impression!

Apres is a clear and comfortable typeface from David Berlow, originally designed for the Palm Pre smart phone. This humanist geometric design projects a friendly and forthright familiarity, without being static or mechanical. This version of the family is part of the Reading Edge series of fonts specifically designed for small text onscreen, having been adjusted to provide more generous proportions and roomier spacing, and having been hinted in TrueType for optimal rendering in low resolution environments.

Eckhardt Titling JNL is another treatment of a popular typeface that lends itself well to the hand-lettered sign and display work of days past. A clean sans serif with a slight touch of Art Deco, this font renders well from small point sizes to large posters. As with other fonts in this series, it is named in honor of Jeff Levine’s good friend Albert Eckhardt, Jr. who owned Allied Signs in Miami, Florida from 1959 until his passing.

Suggested by J.M.Bergling’s 1917 “New Romeo Initials, Last Midnight is a display face created in a distinctive pseudocalligraphic Belle Époque style that we’ve come to associate with beloved fairy tales. This family is based on an offering in Barnhart Brothers & Spindler’s Type Specimen Catalog No. 9, issued around 1910, originally named "Grant". It makes a handsome addition to the Whiz-Bang Woodtype series, and is available in both a Rustic and Refined version. Named for a town in Texas, which the locals pronounce "Reh-FURRY-o". Both versions of this font contain complete Unicode 1252 (Latin) and Unicode 1250 (Central European) character sets, with localization for Romanian and Moldovan.

Based on the 10- and 36-point Diethelm-Antiqua types designed by Walter Diethelm and issued by Haas (Münchenstein) 1948-51. DiethelmAR™ series text-size fonts are based on the 10-point designs. Eastern European accents, swash capitals, alternative figures and small capitals are available. The DiethelmARd fonts are based on the 36-point (dreicicero) designs. OpenType fonts are available individually or in two packages: text fonts (with EE accents, small capitals) and display fonts.

A new series of eclectic decorative initials, Capital Ideas 1 NF features numbers and uppercase letters rendered in nixietube displays, along with a whimsical walk through the alphabet patterned after Milton Glaser's Hologram. One in the series of fonts called Whiz-Bang Wood Type, intended to be set large and tight. Ouachita Way is an ultrabold and boxy caps and small caps font, especially well-suited for commadning headlines. Based on nineteenth-century “Grecian” fonts, the name comes from a forest and a river in Arkansas. Both versions of this font contain the Unicode 1252 Latin and Unicode 1250 Central European character sets, with localization for Romanian and Moldovan.

Toms Finger Family fonts is a hand drawn sans serif series containing Regular weight (Toms Finger), Bold weight (Toms Thumb), and Light weight (Toms Pinky). Drawn entirely using his finger tip on a tablet Tom created this font to be user-friendly for Notes, Signs, Posters, Ads, Captions or anything where the writer wants to convey a casual, non invasive voice in the copy. Toms Finger Family is legible in a wide range of sizes in all weights.

In 1938, Frederic W. Goudy designed California Oldstyle, his most distinguished type, for the University of California Press. In 1958, Lanston Monotype issued it as Californian. Carol Twombly digitized the roman 30 years later for the University of California; David Berlow revised it for Font Bureau with italic and small caps; Jane Patterson designed the bold. In 1999, assisted by Richard Lipton and Jill Pichotta, Berlow designed the black and the text and display series; FB 1994–99

Designed primarily for display use, Tangient is serviceable down to the larger text sizes. It presents an idiosyncratic profile, with a tight fit, clearly proportionally spaced, yet having the texture of a monospaced design. Its shapes leap out from the page, where well behaved characters would make a more subdued statement. The calligraphy from which Tangient GD was electronically "cut" originally appeared in a series of personal greeting cards prepared by the Zafaranas in celebration of the New Year.

ATF Agency Gothic was designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1932 as a lone titling typeface. In 1990, David Berlow saw potential in the squared forms of the narrow, monotone capitals. He designed a lowercase and added a bold to produce Font Bureau Agency, an immediately popular hit. Sensing its potential to be than just a useful condensed face, Font Bureau developed Agency into a major series offering five weights in five widths; FB 1990-95

Is it blood, melted ice, water or something slimy? Choose yourself, because Bloody Charm can be used for all purposed that needs something either scary or melting. I've added two versions: Regular and Drips. The Drips versions is (you may have guessed it already!) a bit more drippy than the regular version. Both versions uses contextual alternates, which in this case means that there is 3 different versions of all lowercase letters - and these automatically cycles as you type!

The Wright-Regan Instrument Company (Wrico) was one of the leading manufacturers of lettering templates for many years. Aside from their own line of products, they also did custom manufacturing. A series of lettering guides called “Mimeostyle” for the A. B. Dick Company of Chicago (produced for use in making mimeograph machine printing stencils) featured an art Deco squared letter design with rounded corners. This is now available digitally as Template Sans JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

The inspiration source for Diamas Monogram is a vintage publication called “Bibliotheque D.M.C: Alphabets et Monogrammes 2nd Series”. This wonderful design is representative of the diamond shape monograms that dominated monogramming at the time. In 1995, David Berlow cut Moderno FB for Esquire Gentleman and Reforma from a TrueType pole of Giza. In 1996 he cut new styles with Richard Lipton for El Norte. In 1997, Roger Black ordered new weights for Tages Anzeiger. A redesign of the Baltimore Sun, with Ionic FB as text, required further growth. The whole series was then revised for Louise Vincent, at the Montreal Gazette, with further styles added in 2005 for La Stampa. FB 1994-2008

The purpose of the original DIN 1451 standard was to lay down a style of lettering which is timeless and easily legible. Unfortunately, these early letters lacked elegance and were not properly designed for typographic applications. Ever since its first publication in the 1930’s, several type foundries adopted the original designs for digital photocomposition. By early 2000, it became apparent that the existing DIN-based fonts did not fulfil the ever-increasing demand for a diverse set of weights and additional support for non-Latin languages. Parachute® was set out to fill this gap by introducing the PF DIN series which has become ever since the most comprehensive and sophisticated set of DIN typefaces. It was based on the original standards but was specifically designed to fit typographic requirements. Studio Neon is an all-caps display font constructed with three rounded-end strokes; the lowercase set is included as a repeat of the uppercase to make setting type just that little bit easier. It’s a modern rendition of neon sign lettering, with a decidedly art deco pedigree, and is intended for use in larger sizes of type, upwards of 36 pt. It’s perfect for a design that wants to imitate neon — use Photoshop layer effects to light it up! I originally started this font with only a few letters, since I could not find a neon-style font made with 3 strokes that looked modern. (Once I started, I found out why. It's a LOT of work!) Most traditional neon fonts include a “bent tube” element in the design; however, not all modern neon signage is constructed with the tubes bent. I also wanted to design a fun font that would have more life than just as an imitation of signage — something to inspire designers who love the geometry of art-deco type. So I made all the corners consistent, with no references to bent tubes. Use this font for any application that needs a bold and decorative look. Studio Neon should work well for sign production and even vinyl cut applications at larger sizes.

Techarí comes from a commission in which the brief consisted of the creation of a typeface family to be used for the design of the third disc of the band called Ojos de Brujo based in Barcelona. This disc was called Techarí, which means “free” in Caló, the language of the Spanish gypsies. The starting point of the design was the music of this band, the meaning of the disc 's name, and three words given by the band as key concepts: ethnic, baroque and graffiti. Techarí is a mixture of lots of influences, which give it its unique personality. From its technical viewpoint designing Techarí was a challenge, on the one hand it had to have lots of personality, and on the other it had to work in text at 9 or 10 pt size. Its goal is precisely that, while keeping a strong personality it works in text size. The typeface also contains a Stencil version for use in display sizes which keeps Techarí's innovative spirit. The way it has been “cut" is unconventional, it has been carefully done to keep the freshness of the typeface by taking advantage of the letterforms' flow. Techarí extra complements the typeface by taking a classical typographic form, the ornament, and making it a contemporary graphic tool, vindicating this wonderful typographic element.

Barrowboy was inspired by the handwritten sales tickets that are still to be found on market stalls and fruit barrows, and are as familiar as the street cries that accompany them.
