Yet, there’s a cool set of ornaments and a kind-of-magic OpenType feature. When the Populaire font is used in OpenType-savvy applications, its Contextual Alternates feature produce a striking random-like effect on glyphs distribution, achieved by cycling through alternates. When not using the Contextual Alternates feature, you can still pick the alternates in the Glyphs palette or use the alternates available from the keyboard upper and lower case.. Inspired by the electrifying posters from May 1968 by Atelier Populaire, this dynamic font is flexible enough to bring freshness and energy to a wide range of design applications. Back in 2017, I was working on a cutout font that I originally wanted to call Scissor Madness. In the end, I named it Cut Along and it was quite a popular font for a while. This week I decided to clean up my fonts folder a bit (as I usually have tons of unfinished fonts lurking in there) and I found a file named Scissor Madness. It was the original try-out for Cut Along. It contained a couple of nice glyphs that I never used, so I started playing around with them and after a day, I had a whole new font! So, in short, Scissor Madness was partly cut out by hand, partly computer made, but it is 100% fun to use! Scissor Madness comes with a bunch of very cute discretionary ligatures.

Initially released in 2013 Corbert was a big hit and was named one of the most popular fonts of the year by MyFonts. Following on from its success the design is updated and remastered to meet the latest standards of The Northern Block and to satisfy critical issues put forward by the most demanding of users. A geometric sans serif typeface influenced by Bauhaus and the early modernist era. Precise shapes are optically adjusted to create a clear, natural typeface with excellent legibility. Corbert is a regular, self-evident design that works well across a wide range of applications. Details include nine weights with matching italics and over 540 characters per style. Opentype features consist of five variations of numerals, including inferiors, superiors, fractions, alternative lowercase a, e and g, and language support covering Western, South, and Central Europe.

PODIUM Sharp is Extended version of DUDU typeface designed in 2012. After many years I’ve decided to rebuild and develop this typeface by adding new masters and weights. Finally PODIUM Sharp consist of 234 styles: from ultra compressed hairline to extra expanded heavy. Main purpose of this project was idea to make hybrid between different modular and geometric woodtypes that I found in old polish specimens: Rex, Blok, Bacarat etc. Thanks to big range of different styles, PODIUM will be perfect choice for visual identities, posters and display usage. For better comfort of using PODIUM I’ve prepared new idea of styles naming based on Frutigres’s Universe and Climbing evaluation. First digit means width and the second weights of style. (So for example style 1.1 is ultra compressed hairline, 6.5 is something like regular and 9.13 is ultra expanded heavy.

The design of VLNL Mais started out as a thought experiment – "How would it look if you dressed up FuturaBlack in LatinWide serifs?” DBXL drew up the first sketches on graph paper in 2014. Although the concept looked promising enough, it ended up dormant in a desktop folder. To be resurfaced recently when covid-19 started spreading and we were asked to all stay home. The final design ended up with a distinct latino flavour due to the long spikey serifs. They look like tortilla chips. And as maize is the main ingredient in many South-American and specifically Mexican dishes – tortillas, burritos, nachos, tamales, tacos – a name was quickly found. VLNL Mais was designed by DBXL, and can be used for logos, headlines, flyers or posters (and not just for Mexican restaurants). It can be found in the VetteLetters vegetable section.

MacKeller, Smiths and Jordan had a font called Giraffe Wide which we liked, but like many Victorian display fonts it had no lowercase. We fixed that!

Nokian11 is a font inspired by an old Nokia phone display. It was created in 2001 and named Nokian. Nokian11 is a new, improved version with full set of glyphs and covers most of European languages.

Rangly is a square-based and rough typeface. It has graffiti inspired shapes built with wide paint rolls. The font is designed and created by Måns Grebäck in 2017, and has support for hundreds of languages.

A robust oldstyle, an elegant slab, 8 styles Geneo, created by Stéphane Elbaz, is a synthesis of historic and present-day visions of typography, a slab serif constructed on an oblique axis. Everyone likes getting a handwritten letter. At least, they would if anyone still hand wrote letters. We heard a story about a type designer who gets a Christmas card from his niece. He’s been out of touch with her for years and is both delighted and surprised to receive a handwritten note. His first thought is “How sweet; how very nice to hear from her.” His second thought is,”Great font potential; I could use this.” And he did. Carissa has a fresh, spontaneous feel, with a wonderful use of uppercase letters (B and R, etc.) within the lower case. Useful as a personal font or for an off-beat menu...

On first impression, Venis is a traditional text typeface: clean, simple and elegant with nice contrast. On closer inspection, you'll notice nuances that add charm and wonder, much like its name (rhymes with "tennis"). Is this font a serif or sans serif? Hmmmm, it never really commits. Further design liberties were taken to create unique qualities in its characters, which are best exemplified by the signature lowercase y. This font family is optimized for print, and has worked beautifully for letterpress projects including wedding invitations and birth announcements. Venis will also work well in newsletters, brochures, proposals, magazines, books, and other text-heavy paper products, bringing creative elegance to your designs.

What a nice tranquil feeling you get from the wide forms of this font. The air of spontaneity was the most important thing about developing Rifleman. The forms were carefully and slowly constructed and then loosely traced with a paintbrush. Maybe the original drawings will become a font someday but i like to think that they won't for some reason. Surprisingly Rifleman is left to only the bare essential elements, anything that wasn't necessary was left out or removed. The goal was to make it as lightweight as possible to make up for the intricate detail. Rifleman is a surprisingly lightweight font offering lends itself to speedy typesetting!

Mero inspired by this measurement method and would like to create the primary typeface in terms of simple form. JetJane is a geometric sans-serif family. The family has two widths and each width has nine weights. Each of these 18 fonts comes with an accompanying italics version, giving the family a total of 36 members. JetJane, like other geometric sans faces, is plain, unadorned, and highly legible. It is derived from JetJaneMono, a monospaced sans-serif face. This development is unusual because one expects the monospaced variants to be created after the proportional variant, if a monospaced variant is even produced. This development history results in some distinctive differences between JetJane and two other geometric sans faces from IngrimayneType, AndrewAndreas and Yassitf.

Conceived as an exploration of geometrical type designs of the early twentieth century, Canaro was — in its first design stages — heavily rooted in that time period. During its development and the effort to give it a modern appearance, it turned into a contemporary font with a strong historical background, defined by legibility and functionality. In addition, the lack of spurs provide a unique but unobtrusive character and support the contemporary impression. »Cristal Text« has nice to read lower case letters. It contains 636 letters per font style and some Open Type features: Different stylistic alternates and different sets of numerals. It is not monospaced: Therefor it stays not true to an underlying grid like it’s bigger brother »Cristal True«. But this offers a better legibility. The basis of this font is a Union-Jack or sixteen-segment display (SISD). I have found myself in the need of a precise and well-made font, that simulates the look of such a LCD display. Also it should offer enough letters and language support for the whole European region as well as different font styles.
