Based on the blobby lettering printed on the sheets of plasterboard (drywall) used in a garage conversion during the summer of 2004.

While DIN Display seems to retain DIN’s basic characteristics, it shines with its sharper corners and contemporary look. Completed in 2002, it was first released and published in Parachute’s award-winning 2003 catalog and immediately was a hit. It has been used successfully in magazines, corporate applications and packaging in fields such as music, fashion, technology, visual arts. The ‘Pro’ series has been enhanced with more weights, multilingual support and opentype features in all different styles. Specifically, this superfamily supports simultaneously Latin, Greek and Cyrillic, while each one of its 15 weights contains 1197 glyphs and 20 opentype features. Additionally, every font in this superfamily has been completed with 270 copyright-free symbols, some of which have been proposed by several international organizations. This is a set of very useful daily symbols for packaging, branding and advertising. Symbols for public areas, environment, transportation, computers, fabric care and urban life.

In the late 1990s Gerard Unger won the assignment to design the signage system for the Holy Year celebrations to be held in Rome in 2000. The system he developed in cooperation with the design agency n|p|k used a classically inspired serif typeface, but the earlier proposals included a sans-serif, which became Vesta (2001). Vesta is a versatile family that can be used as a display face alongside Unger's serif faces Gulliver, Capitolium or Coranto; it can also be used on its own, even in longer texts. Vesta is narrower and therefore more economical than some commonly used sans serifs such as Arial and Helvetica; there is also a noticeable contrast between thick and thin parts, which makes it more lively. Vesta is to be extended with narrow versions, small capitals and old style numerals, along with some special versions for headlines.

Cute Letters is a hand drawn font family in two styles with extensive character sets. Cute Letters - Hearted is a vibrant happily singing script, all capital as well as some lowercase letters are decorated with heart shapes. Second: Cute Letters - Heartless is still as vivid as it’s sister Hearted but a little less briskly, some straightened forms and without the decorative hearts. Both styles are readable and suitable for longer texts in medium point sizes. Cute Letters Hearted & Heartless is a part of the Light Hearted Font Collection that is inspired by a recording of Jean Baudrillard with the title, "Die Macht der Verführung" (The Power of Seduction) from 2006. Further inspiration came from the article, "The shape of the heart: I'm all yours". German type designer Erik Spiekermann and American type designer Christian Schwartz created this sans FontFont between 2003 and 2011. The family has 14 weights, ranging from Thin to Ultra (including italics) and is ideally suited for advertising and packaging, book text, editorial and publishing, logo, branding and creative industries, small text, wayfinding and signage as well as web and screen design. FF Unit provides advanced typographical support with features such as ligatures, small capitals, alternate characters, case-sensitive forms, fractions, and super- and subscript characters. It comes with a complete range of figure set options – oldstyle and lining figures, each in tabular and proportional widths. As well as Latin-based languages, the typeface family also supports the Cyrillic and Greek writing systems. In 2004, FF Unit received the TDC2 award. This FontFont is a member of the FF Unit super family, which also includes FF Unit Rounded and FF Unit Slab.

Prince and Princess Charming are very extravagant and extroverted about their feelings. Prince Charming puts a heart on everything. As you would expect from Aristocrats the family members are fluent in many languages and have a surprising extensive character set that even covers Cyrillic. Unpack is a soft and inviting face. It is available in two cuts, upright and slanted, both all-caps with 2 options for each letter for a nice uneven organic look. The family counts also with a picture font, loaded with some handy extras like banners, stars and ornaments. This versatile family fits greatly many usages. Type some food name and you'll get hungry, type a toy and you'll want to play. Don't believe it? You don't even need to unpack it to try!

For Vega antikva, too, 16th and 17th century typefaces stood models. I made a free interpretation of them, with a nice result, if I am allowed to express myself. Vega antikva makes a beautiful impression in books, but even as a web typeface it behaves well. The name Vega can be traced down to a constellation, a mathematician, a writer, a movie character, or a research ship, as you like. Now there is a typeface with that name, too. Vega antikva was released in 1994.

The Urfa font family comes in nine weights of Normal and Italic. In addition, all weights contain small caps in both italic and normal. With the Urfa font family, you can create beautiful works for the web, including logos, banners, body copy, and presentations. Urfa typeface also works nicely in print formats such as posters, T-shirts, magazines, and affiches. Because of its eye-pleasing style, this font is both effective and versatile. It supports a wide range of languages, including Extended Latin and Cyrillic.

Klartext [plain talking, clear words] A modern monospaced type family of 10 weights. Klartext Mono combines a classical monospaced font and modern monolined sans-serif with a humanistic touch. It is characterized by a large x-height, slightly condensed glyphs with well shaped curves and soft strokes. As a special feature, Klartext contains a bunch of uncommon glyphs like the German capital sharp S, a nice arrowset and a basic phonetic alphabet (20 letters in IPA Extensions, some more in Latin Basic thru Extended B).

Traction was originally conceived and designed by Swiss astronomer Christian Thalmann. Schriftlabor designers Chiara Mattersdorfer and Miriam Surányi expanded, completed and produced the font family. This typeface sports signature serifs, soft edges and a fluid, organic design. Enlarged, the organic letters are reminiscent of the profiles of ­off-road tyres and hiking boots. In text sizes, it is the humanistic forms that set the tone to ensure fluid legibility. Totalling at 18 styles in nine weights, all fonts come with small capitals and all possible numerical variations.

In Dutch, a Mandarijn is a Tangerine. I found out that it is called a Mandarin in Australia as well! I really like Mandarins, so I thought I’d give them their well-deserved place in the spotlights by naming a font after them. The whispers part - well, that’s just because it sounded good. Mandarin Whispers is a very nice brush font, which was actually not made with a brush, but with a cheapie marker pen. It comes with all the bells & whistles, so have a ball!
