Commodore JNL and Commodore Oblique JNL are based somewhat on the Clarendon family of typefaces that were popular in the 1800s and used on many of the broadsides and notices printed with wood type. Introducing Springsteel, a new display sans serif with an unusual construction: curved lines on the outside with only a few straight lines on the inside. The resulting typeface shows a great deal of tension and dynamics. Preferably, it should be used at larger sizes, at smaller sizes only for special effects. It was spaced and kerned by Igino Marini/iKern.

Pelita is a sans serif family which is divided into 2 sub-families, Regular and Grande. Pelita is designed with a terminal that forms a curved angle on one side so as to give the impression of representing firmness and softness. The grande version is a modified version of the main version, but is designed more streamlined with curves and more extreme angles.

The Diamond Negative and Diamond Positive fonts feature sans serif capitals and figures in a diamond shaped background, in positive and negative form. Diamond Negative and Diamond Positive are useful in labelling, on invitations and certificates and for short headlines and intros in advertising. Cartesian is a modular typeface that gets its namesake from Descartes’s cartesian coordinate plane and Conway’s Game of Life. ITC Kokoa is the work of German graphic designer Jochen Schuss. Schuss found the seeds of inspiration on a trip to Ghana and expanded and experimented with the idea on the computer. It includes an array of symbols and borders to complement its stylized letters. ITC Kokoa retains a touch of its African roots but is overall a modern, funky font.

Metropolis Bold was commissioned by Publish magazine for their 1990 redesign. Although other digital versions exist, I think this was the first one and is characterized by extremely pointy serifs. It is well to remember in laying out copy for Metropolis to allow plenty of white space in the layout. Metropolis is based on the 1932 Stempel cut as designed by W. Schwerdtner.

The Sussan type family is a hand lettering collection designed by Felipe Calderón. It contains sixteen different hand-drawn fonts and a set of funny illustrations designed by Jhony Velasco. On this occasion, we tried to match several font concepts to create nice pieces with them and each one is equipped with automatically exchanging alternates, ligatures, swash letters and some other feature.

Initially commissioned in the summer of 2009 for a popular North American ice cream parlor chain we cannot name, Tuba started with a reconceptualization of a somewhat flawed '72 alphabet idea by Swiss graphic designer Erwin Poell. During the back-and-forth of the custom project, other ideas seeped into the design, mostly from other Canada Type fonts, like Fab, Jonah, Jojo and Teaspoon. The end result was what the client called a "sugar circuit trigger alphabet". This now is the retail version of that project. Tuba's main style is a straight-forward mix of 60s/70s art nouveau ideas and late-70s/early-80s tube aesthetic. The Highlight and Outline styles are almost necessary spinoffs for this kind of typeface. And the all-caps Black style is a nod to the fat font fad of the past couple of years. All styles contain many alternates – so many that each style is almost two fonts in one. Make sure to check out the character sets for a few nice and useful surprises. Life's too short. This script font was inspired by the type most commonly used during the period 1300s to 1500s. It is a compromise between historic truth and contemporary use. We particularly thank very much the Paris Sorbonne University professor who gave us freely and patiently numerous and valuable advice and criticism for this work. My latest typeface is a formal, copperplate script named Glade. Beginning as a project for a client who wanted several widths of a formal script style, the project never saw fruition. However, it did get me excited about the idea of a width family of steel nib scripts, ranging from extra narrow to extra wide, and the result is the Glade family. To give Glade a minor modern makeover from the original intent, the lowercase has been scaled up, and the Capitals scaled down for a more friendly personality. The character set has been expanded, and OpenType support has been added for unlimited fractions, ordinals, superiors and inferiors. So if you have the need for a formal connecting script, but are short on space, try Glade Narrow or Glade Extra Narrow. If space is not an issue, then the Regular, Wide or the generously gracious Extra Wide should do nicely. And if you get the whole family, well then you are set for anything that comes your way.

Kade is a display/semi display sans family of fonts based on vernacular lettering photographed over the last ten years in and around the harbors of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Hence the name Kade that translates into English as ‘quay’, also the name of its designer. Kade grew slowly from many different ideas and elements. The letters reflects the industrial method in which they are cut for the side of ships from large steel plates. Frequently subtleties of curves are compromised due to the cutting tools and the fact engineers are in control. Kade’s italics have an experimental character and were produced in an unorthodox manner by rotating 8 degrees, rather than slanting the roman characters, a method sometimes employed in shipyards. Kade constructed character is ideal for contemporary editorial works, architecture magazines, museums communication and posters.
