Huckleberry is a revival and expansion of a 1973 typeface called Mark Twain, which was G. Jaeger's reaction to the popularity of VGC's Eightball (also digitized and expanded as Orotund by Canada Type) from across the ocean. Jaeger's reaction was typical German efficacy, with majuscules that surpass their inspiration in art and humour, and minuscules that could have been just the thing if one wanted to make the Eightball lowercase friendlier. Back in its day, this font reached its own heights of popularity in Western Europe, but in the Americas it was less known because art nouveau faces were being made by the hundreds in the 1970s. Round, happy and bouncy, Huckleberry comes as a timely response to public demand for big and cheerful letters. Huckleberry is also very effect-friendly. I can best describe the Thaun family as a general purpose display family, inspired by Scholtz Fonts' " "Delikat". I wanted to produce a display font that was more robust than Delikat, without losing the delicacy of the original. In order to do this I thinned solid, curved strokes toward the baseline, and let them dwindle to gently rounded points. As a graphic designer I became aware that designs that used a number of styles from the same family seemed to work well. This was easily done using a standard sans serif font such as Arial or Helvetica. However, when a different look is needed, display fonts do not always have a the variety of different styles that are necessary to produce a coherent design. Thus with Thaun, the challenge was to create a coherent family based on a display font. The archetype of this family is Thaun Regular with six different widths forming closely related styles. There are also two variants of the archetype i.e. Thaun Black & Thaun Rough to add variety to the primary style. An additional sub-family, Thaun Accord, appears in two widths. Thaun Jazz is a wide three dimensional variation. Thaun has all the features usually included in a fully professional font. Language support includes all European character sets, Greek symbols and all punctuation. Opentype features include automatic replacement of some characters and discretionary replacement of stylistic alternatives.

Bouteilles is French for bottles. No fancy name this time, just bottles. You’re probably wondering why I chose this name… Well, I was taking out the glass (in Holland we recycle just about everything, glass, paper, plastic, metal, garden and kitchen waste, etc.), which included a number of French wine bottles. As I was throwing them into the underground container one block from where I live, I realised that the word Bouteilles actually sounds great and it would be a nice name for a font! Yes, it is that simple! Bouteilles is a nice brush font I made with my trusted Chinese ink and a really worn brush I found. It comes with all the diacritics you need plus two sets of alternates, which you can play with!

During the Covid pandemic, I noticed that a lot of public figures (politicians, actors, influencers and even kings and princesses) had to apologise for not following the social distance rules, the lockdown rules or the 'stay at home' rules. They threw parties, went on holidays abroad and - in general - made a nuisance of themselves. When I finished this font, I decided to call it Public Figure! Public Figure is quite a neat, handmade font. It doesn't stick to the rules (but does like to keep up appearances), likes to party (but manages to stay safe) and brightens up your work (without being too gaudy). Public Figure comes with two alternate sets for the lower case glyphs (that cycle as you type) and a massive amount of diacritics, including Vietnamese.

Cascadeur is a variable modular sans with 3 axes, a modernistic hommage to space-age typography. It was designed by Peter Bushuev and released in April of 2020. Cascadeur was born from a type design study and went a long way to its final form. The main feature is a structure of the font: it based on 4 lines grid, has very tight spacing to achieve maximum space coverage and set of inventive letterforms. It is also a variable font and has 3 axes: weight, slant, and roundness. Cascadeur has alternates for almost every letter (2-4) so you can find a rhythm and a unique pattern for your design piece. It is a perfect choice for posters, album covers, big headlines, oversize typography, identity and packaging, editorial design.

Wood Type Catalogs of the 19th century often offered tools and accessories alongside alphabets of wood type. Probably the most closely related was wood type borders and ornaments. Decorative Borders were often sold by the foot and accompanied by corner pieces that matched the designs. These borders could be assembled in almost any size dimensions as needed. The digital version uses the same principals of modular assembly to create the exact size border that is needed. Along with the borders, included in this font are a selection of "streamers". These banners would have been made to order with the font designs reversed out along a horizontal banner with decorative end caps. The digital version allows for a modular assembly by selecting choice of end caps and then typing the = as many times as needed to achieve the desired length. 10 styles of 9 piece borders can be created in any size variations as well as 8 styles of streamers in any desired length. Some of the designs can be mixed and matched for unusual contemporary design interpretations of these historic styles. It is recommended that the line height (leading) is set to the same size as the point size setting, this will visually lock all elements together.

Derived from a photograph Rian Hughes took in Hong Kong, the Roadkill family of typefaces is a literal interpretation of rough and worn road lettering. The original provided almost all of the key character shapes, with the others being designed to keep the unique hand painted feel intact. Most of the letters have alternate versions provided. This font works equally well at wider letterspacing settings. Roadkill Alternates provides curved versions of the 2 and the S, a G with higher crossbar, and less worn versions of several other characters. The heavy version packs even more gritty wallop in a non-condensed and blacker weight. Roadkill Heavy packs even more gritty wallop in a non-condensed and blacker weight. Komet is a sturdy typeface with a calm and upright feel. Although it derives inspiration from classical English sans-serifs, it’s not too closely related to that model. Komet, instead, feels rather more lively and contemporary. Its compact spacing, low stroke contrast and heavy dots and accents give it an almost monolinear quality. The diagonals are slightly curved and the counters of the round letters such as b, o and q are generously wide. The muted, understated middle weights are built for extended body copy, while Komet’s thin and dark weights look brisk and assertive and make for subtly expressive headlines. When I was in advertising – before computers – a very time consuming part of my daily work was sketching headlines. I used to be able to sketch headlines in Franklin Gothic, Times, Futura, Helvetica and several scripts. We had a kind of huge inverted camera – which we called Lucy. We projected the alphabet onto a sheet of transparent paper, outlined the letters with a fineliner and then filled them in. It was very tedious work, but the resulting headline had its own charm and we had a permanent race going on who was best and fastest. I won most of the time! First conceived as the upper-and lowercase “e” for the logotype of independent publishers Elemental Editions, the letterforms were so well received that they were extended to an entire typeface and formed the basis for a bespoke font – Eef. The type design draws inspiration from the basic elements, the periodic table, functionalist vintage lettering and influences from other classic geometric typefaces with condensed cuts such as Futura and Trade Gothic. The extended set is now developed into a family consisting of three weights – Regular, Medium and Bold. Originally released in 2008, Churchward Newstype is a workhorse text family, designed by the late Joseph Churchward back in the early 2000’s. If you’re familiar with Churchward’s typefaces, you might know that he always brought a little something quirky to his designs. Churchward Newstype doesn’t disappoint. The exaggerated concave serifs make a statement that is subtle, yet gives the typeface a unique flavor. The proportions and scale of the letters lend themselves to very good legibility in text applications, and the Bold weights are strong enough for headlines. Churchward Newstype is good for text copy, and headlines, and at giant point sizes, great for adding emphasis to posters! The Churchward Newstype family has four weights, Light to Bold, with 13 degree slanted italics. Each font has a second set of tabular figures. In this updated release, each weight now has an extended character set that supports most Western and Eastern European languages.

This is a special font for use creating US Postal Service "Intelligent Mail" barcodes. Those are the barcodes you see on most cards and envelopes. Commercial mailers get the best pricing by printing barcodes when they address the mail, saving the Postal Service a step. The barcodes are also used on reply mail and Share mail, and for "Informed Visibility" tracking. Software to create these barcodes, including the USPS Intelligent Mail Small Business (IMsB) tool, typically provide an output of 65 characters, each character being an A, D, T or F, corresponding to each of the styles of bar. SmartBars 12 replaces those characters with the corresponding bar. When doing a mail merge to print addresses, the user would set the barcode field on their merge template to be printed using SmartBars 12, at 12 point, regular, and the barcode will print with the correct bars and at the required size to meet USPS requirements.

Deus is when type design is brought to extreme. It tries to answer the question whether you can design all glyphs in one axis of stress. It does not try to be all purpose, useful at all sizes, legible or readable and most of all it does not try to be neutral. It has its own style you either accept or not. But if you do so, it has many great stuff inside. Every glyph has the same width across four masters, so you can change the style in one title or even make an animation out of that. It also has some cool animated emojis, so make sure you take all four styles! Deus has two sets of styles. "Deus" that has an expanded glyph set, and "Deus Basic" that comes with a limited glyph set. You can play around with "Deus Basic" since you get it for free, then fall in love with this font family and go for the full version.

Historical typography makes a comeback. A revival of one of the most popular of a number of rugged typefaces used around the turn of the century, Croft revives the creation of Lewis Buddy III, known as "Roycroft" in 1912 ATF catalogs. It also, according to ATF, was designed "partly" by Morris Benton, around 1898. The original typeface might be considered an early form of grunge fonts. This typestyle maintains historical flavor, while also being relevant today. It has been expanded to have more discretionary ligatures and numerals sets for versatility, and maintains the original stylistic alternates and standard ligatures. OCR-A was originally designed in 1968 as a machine-readable alphabet. Its functionality was its most important element, instead of its design. Over the following decades, the typeface has become popular in the design world nevertheless. But typographically pleasing results are often hard to come by, due to the original design’s “non-design design”, as well as its undeveloped character set. In 2006, Miriam Röttgers revised and extended OCR-A, creating OCR A Tribute. OCR A Tribute is a typeface family comprising of two versions: one in which the glyphs have been proportionally-spaced, and another that is monospaced. In the monospaced version, all glyphs have the same width, like the letters in the original OCR-A font do. Both versions of OCR A Tribute contain complete character sets and expert glyphs, as well as lining and old style figures. Now you can rest easy, and finally use this classic design for display purposes and headlines!

The inspiration source for MFC Phonograph Monogram is a vintage monogram specimen named “Kent” showing only a CBA sample. It was a style I could find no other reference for, but was desperate to recreate this record like styling of monogram. Finally, it all comes to life in MFC Phonograph Monogram. I even threw in a little dog and phonograph icons hidden in the font as decorative icons reminicent of old Victrola records. Phonograph Monogram supports two and three letter monograms, although the two letter style break from the circular record design and creates a zulu style shield design. MFC Phonograph Monogram uses the Ligatures feature, available in most OpenType savvy applications, such as Adobe Illustrator CS (see Fig. 1). The Ligatures feature is typically enabled automatically, but you may need to confirm this in your program if you are not certain. If any second lowercase letter typed does not automatically switch to form the right side of the rounded form, you do not have Ligatures enabled.

Balcony is a decorative display typeface inspired by the patterns of metal safety grills. Its highly geometric features may be used to identify it as Art Deco. It is a monospaced type family with all characters confined in a square frame. The main idea of Balcony is to create a grill-like pattern when letterforms are placed together. This creates an illusionary experience for the reader. The best way to use this typeface is without leading, as shown in the visuals. Balcony also comes with two stylistic sets. The first stylistic set contains most characters with more decorative elements and the second one includes Dingbats. These Dingbats are motifs with simple geometric patterns that may be used for any kind of ornamentation. The diacritics letterforms are geometrically squeezed within the square frame to include the accents. This experimental typeface comes with about 650 characters and four weights (Thin, Light, Regular and Bold). The font family supports Western and Central European languages.

Cumbre is a slanted display type with unorthodox anatomy, a dynamic rhythmic structure, movement expression, and intense visual language. An eccentric rebel with ribbon-like moves, a balanced extrovert that makes meticulous use of ink traps. Both the name and design got inspiration from mountain peaks. "Cumbre" in Spanish means summit, and that's the motive for the spiked design and the angular serrated structure. Cumbre is built by balancing sharp angles and venturous curves. The stems are spiky, and they vary in width. Cumbre is slanted and unicase. It has condensed proportions, moderate weight contrast, spacious counters, pointy terminals, and square ink traps. Cumbre is meant for large display settings to make the most out of the precise outlines and the clean intersections. The font styles: 'Sharp' has straight paths and precise intersections. 'Round' has the same outlines but with round corners. 'Stamp' has irregular wavy contours and heavy swelling at intersections.

A typeface design with extra isolated scattered letters and random careless look. It has six members, normal, bold, and medium, all of which come in two styles, regular and left-slanted italic styles. This font family design follows the guidelines of Mutamathil Taqlidi type style with one glyph for every basic Arabic Unicode character or letter, as defined by the Unicode Standards, and one additional final form glyph, for the freely-connecting letters in traditional Arabic cursive text. Fallujah employs variable x-height values. It includes only the Lam-Alif ligatures. Soft-vowel diacritic marks, harakat, are selectively positioned. Most of them appear by default on the same level, following a letter, to ensure that they would not interfere visually with letters. Tatweel is a zero-width glyph. Keying the tatweel key before Alif-Lam-Lam-Ha will display the Allah ligature. Fallujah includes both Arabic and Arabic-Indic numerals, in addition to standard punctuations.

»COSMA« is an old greek word that stands for »beauty« and »order«, I thought it a very befitting name for my new font-family. My »Cosma« has that special high-contrast Renaissance beauty but is very orderly in appearance. »Cosma« is a classical beauty with modern touches that make it unique. You will love this font. It is a great everyday workhorse with seven weights from UltraLight to Bold and all the necessary weights in between. Great for body copy and headlines! With 964 Glyphs it is a truly European font designed for all Central European and Latin using countries. »Cosma« has a set of Cyrillic that is also good for Serbia, Macedonia and Ukraine. Sorry, no Greek! But it has oldstyle- and lining-, tabular- and tabular-oldstyle-figures, many alternative letters and ligatures. On top I designed two sets of alternative, decorated caps each in normal and oblique. »Cosma« comes in Normal, Italic and Oblique, sometimes you just don’t want to use Oblique instead of Italic that would be too playful for the occasion. »Cosma« doesn’t come cheap, but I start off with an 80 % reduction, so that is a good chance to get all 49 cuts for a phantastic price.
