LP Pinselschrift is a new brush handwriting script from German designer Peter Langpeter (lp-design.de). LP has been running his own design studio since 1995, working as a typeface and logo designer, as a calligrapher, cartographer and illustrator. During this time LP created a large number of excellent new typeface designs. Now, we are extremely happy that LP has chosen to let URW digitally produce and market his designs. LP Pinselschrift is the first LP original typeface of this series. It is a light, dynamic-flowing and modern brush script.

Bromwich is a piece of brand new Edwardian fun. In the spirit of railway travel posters and illustrated news journals, it's a wonderful font for poster design, or for book covers and other work with a period theme. Ayita is a new sans serif design by Jim Ford and Steve Matteson. Ayita is a Cherokee name which translates to first in dance" and recalls the rhythm and flow of this new typeface. Originally conceived as an upright italic design, Ayita remains contemporary, friendly and hard working. The open shapes render faithfully at small point sizes and on device screens while the compact design allows more characters per line for headlines. Ayita is a useful design for a wide variety of uses including interfaces, spreadsheets, greeting cards and banners."

ITC Bailey Sans is the first typeface family created by Kevin Bailey, a graphic designer in Dallas, Texas. He was once looking for an understated block serif for a design project and could find nothing suitable. Bailey began working on his own serif face but then found that the basics of his new design worked well as a sans serif and continued on that track. ITC Bailey Sans font is available in four weights: book, book italic, bold and bold italic and even has a companion serif display font, ITC Baily Quad Bold.

With its solid slab form, mixed with subtle curved terminals, Arbour is a unique font with the versatility to work in many different scenarios, from branding to digital applications. It comes in 7 weights, from a delicate extra-light to a solid, strong black, with matching italics for each upright. Arbour may have a serious look to it but it also has a playful side. The light weights are great for calling out text and the heavy weights are perfect for that new brand you are working on.

Heinz is inspired by the poster design of Heinz Schulz-Neudamm for Fritz Lang’s famous silent movie Metropolis. Heinz Schulz-Neudamm did quite a lot of work for the German branches of big American movie companies like 20th Century Fox or MGM. His most famous work is probably the title lettering for the Metropolis movie. The original drawing for that poster sold in 2005 in London for 398.000 Pound Sterling (approx. US $ 600.000). Kinstag is a all caps serif display font. The typography was originally developed during work on a country rock music project. The initial characters were then evolved into a workable font for use in rural, rustic, vintage, outdoor and adult beverage related themes. It’s spring and the Cherry Blossoms are in bloom… and so is the new typeface by Neil Summerour and Positype. Cherry Blossoms is the new relaxed script family in the same vein as Good Karma. Produced from hand and sumi brush of Neil Summerour, Cherry Blossoms is a natural brush textured font family. Cherry Blossoms is blooming with personality, reliable and genuine movements, and a wide range of letter options to befit any project needing an honest hand-lettered look. Each typeface comes with an expansive set of stylistic alternates (upper AND lowercase), that harmonize wonderfully when you have the Opentype Ligature feature active. UNY is a display slab serif font. UNY is a distinct all caps geometric typeface inspired by varsity, college and university sports as well as the military. The UNY name was derived as a new styled acronym from the word university. ITC Fenice font (pronounced fe-nee-chay) is the work of designer Aldo Novarese and was influenced by the traditional designs of Didot, Bodoni, and Ibarra. It displays the fine serifs of a Bodoni but blends such characteristics with a contemporary structural style. ITC Fenice font is perfect for applications requiring the economical use of space.

Alma Serif is a typeface that tries to combine the modern shape of serif magazines such as Times New Roman with the atmosphere of classic typefaces such as Baskerville. I was working on the universality of the typeface, so that it would be suitable for both long papers and books, but also for formatting narrow columns in magazines.

The result of a study into the Paris Metro system; Metro Sans is a Grotesk typeface with personality. It bridges the gap between the stern terminals of a Swiss Neo-Grotesk, and the smooth curves of a modern day Geo-Grotesk. The two combine to give a versatile typeface that works well in both body and display weights.

Christmas Doodles Too is the follow up font to Christmas Doodles. Four letters for this font came from a puzzle in a 1983 Games magazine. After seeing them, I could not resist the temptation to do a complete set of letters made from push pins or tacks, a truly tacky font. Most of the letters on the lower case keys are alternatives--choose the one works best for your purposes.

ITC Farmhaus is the work of British designer Tim Donaldson and is, in his own words, Neil Young meets Paul Renner." Donaldson borrowed the perfect circles and clean lines of Renner's drawings for Futura and gave them jagged edges and uneven, thick strokes. Farmhaus contains one set of capitals and two sets of lower case letters."

Frutiger® Serif is a re-envisioning of Meridien,a typeface first released by Deberny & Peignot during the 1950s. Working closely with Adrian Frutiger, Linotype's Type Director Akira Kobayashi expanded the original metal type version of Meridien into a new digital family of 20 variants. Renamed Frutiger Serif, this up-to-date Meridien has new weights, widths, and styles that correspond better with several other of Frutiger's designs. Just as Meridien has always been a fine choice for text settings, Frutiger Serif works brilliantly for large amounts of text & also at small point sizes. With its many weights and styles, this family is strong enough for most typographic projects. However, its added versatility is revealed when used in combination with other fonts. Frutiger Serif works well with the original Frutiger, Frutiger Next, and Univers - just to name a few. Paring these serif and sans serif families together is perfect for creating complex hierarchies and clear information design. Working with complicated typographic systems - involving elements such as headlines, captions, pull quotes, multilingual text, etc - is made easy by selecting Frutiger Serif and another of Frutiger's sans serif families. The designer needs simply to mix and match different weights and styles for the various textual elements to create smart and innovative layouts.

Dante was designed by Giovanni Mardersteig. Mardersteig started work on Dante after the Second World War when printing at the Officina Bodoni returned to full production. He drew on his experience of using Monotype Bembo and Centaur to design a new book face with an italic which worked harmoniously with the roman. Originally hand-cut by Charles Malin, Dante was adapted for mechanical composition by Monotype in 1957. The new digital font version has been re drawn, by Monotype's Ron Carpenter, free from any restrictions imposed by hot metal technology. The Dante font family was issued in 1993 in a range of three weights with a set of titling capitals. ATF Franklin Gothic® A new take on an old favorite Franklin Gothic has been the quintessential American sans for more than a century. Designed by Morris Fuller Benton and released in 1905 by American Type Founders, Franklin Gothic quickly stood out in the crowded field of sans-serif types, gaining an enduring popularity. Benton’s original design was a display face in a single weight. It had a bold, direct solidity, yet conveyed plenty of character. A modern typeface in the tradition of 19th-century grotesques, Franklin Gothic was drawn with a distinctive contrast in stroke weight, giving it a unique personality among the more mono-linear appearance of later geometric and neo-grotesque sans-serif types. Franklin Gothic has been interpreted into a series of weights before, most notably with ITC Franklin Gothic. But as the original type was just a bold display face (later accompanied by a few similarly bold widths and italics), how Benton’s design is expanded to multiple weights and styles as a digital type family can vary significantly. Benton designed several gothic faces that harmonize with one another, including Franklin Gothic, News Gothic, and Monotone Gothic, that can serve as models for new interpretations of his work. With ATF Franklin Gothic, Mark van Bronkhorst looked to Benton’s Monotone Gothic—originally a single typeface in a regular weight, and similar to Franklin Gothic in its forms—as the basis for lighter styles. ATF Franklin Gothic may appear familiar given its heritage, but is a new design offering a fresh take on Benton’s work. The text weights are wider and more open than some previous Franklin Gothic interpretations, and as a result are quite legible as text, at very small sizes, and on screen. ATF Franklin Gothic maintains the warmth and the spirit of a Benton classic while offering a suite of fonts tuned precisely for contemporary appeal and utility. Dinner is a family of novelty fonts in which the characters are formed from spoons, forks, and knives. Dinner-Regular was designed in 1990, one of the earliest fonts in the IngrimayneType collection. It contains a mixture of knives, forks, and spoons and the lower-case letters are smaller versions of the upper-case letters. In 2021 the family was expanded with Dinner-Knives in which all characters are formed by arranging knife shapes, Dinner-Spoons in which the characters are formed from spoon shapes, and Dinner-Forks in which the characters are formed from fork shapes. All three are caps-only but the characters on the lower-case keys are alternate versions of upper-case letters . Dinner is a decorative display family that needs to be used at a large size. The logical place to use it is for food-related items.

Frantic, man, and solid, Jackson! This crazy-quilt collection of dingbats inspired by the works of famed album-cover artist Jim Flora will add spice, zing and a certain je ne sais quoi to any project they grace.

Porkshop is a font of retro vintage flavor with a hefty dose of immigrant-influenced naive typography. It's fundamentally inspired by an old-but-still-prominent "Pork Shop" sign in Manhattan. I like to think that this font was made by a signmaker's apprentice who didn't yet have a grasp on the subtleties of elegant letterforms, but put his gusto into perfectly sharp serifs. While pointy little serifs are cool, the real shine of this font comes from the imaginative combination of uppercase and lowercase shapes. This unique mixture in the lowercase reminds me of an indeterminate European accent in the big city. Big and strong and easy to understand. Best rendered in 3-foot tall metal type, Porkshop works well in print and on screens, too. The Bolds and Italics are brand new in 2011.

In its heyday, the Starlight Room of the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City quite frequently printed lunch and dinner menus for not only their rotating bill of fare, but also for special events held there. The 1937 Electrolux (Eastern) Appreciation Banquet has its own menu cover, and the lettering was in a simple, yet Art-Deco influenced condensed block design with squared features. This simple and quirky typeface has been digitally redrawn as Sales Convention JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

British type designer Neville Brody created this display FontFont in 1991. The family contains 3 weights: Light, Medium, and Bold and is ideally suited for advertising and packaging, festive occasions, editorial and publishing, logo, branding and creative industries as well as poster and billboards. FF Blur provides advanced typographical support with features such as ligatures, alternate characters, and case-sensitive forms. It comes with tabular lining and proportional lining figures. In 2011, FF Blur was added to the MoMA Architecture and Design Collection in New York.

Images of ‘lost’ or forgotten signs from the past are on a number of sites all over the web. One in particular partially revealed a vintage sign for “J. Yormark Shoes" behind a barbershop sign at 15 – 8th Avenue in New York City. The sign remained until 2014. The stencil effect made by the formation of the stained glass letters inspired On Your Mark JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. The font’s name is a play on the shoe vendor’s name… “Yormark”.

Broadgauge Ornate originated from MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan in 1869 and was only available as an all caps font with numbers. Today this old beautiful wood type rises again from the archives complete with original numbers and an all new lowercase. An all caps Greek character set has also been added plus accented characters for western, central and Eastern European countries. Included in each font file are two sets of left and right pointing hands located on the Less Than and Greater Than keys and also on the Bracket keys. Because this font works well with a Las Vegas theme I've decided to make the pointing hands gambling related with one set of hands rolling dice and the other holding cards. The condensed versions were created because in today's computer graphics applications people stretch and condense fonts to fit their project but don't notice the change in vertical stroke widths or line thickness. After compressing the letter shapes of each Broadgauge Ornate condensed font the vertical lines were corrected making sure they were the proper width or thickness. The results are balanced condensed versions that weren't simply compressed with out consideration for their appearance.

Shard was originally commissioned for Nickelodeon’s 3D reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. It complemented the show’s new angular logo, which Rian Hughes also designed. There are alternative versions of many letters available in the upper and lower case keys, and a selection of around 90 ligatures that automatically substitute themselves in running text to give a tight, interlocked fit.
