Boris is my son: he was born on January 7th and he is as cute as can be. Boris Brush font is a very loud, very useful brush typeface, which I created using some fine-haired brushes and black paint. It is all caps, but lower and upper case are different and can be freely interchanged. Comes with all the diacritics you need.

This font is based on a lot of the downtempo culture in Paris. Smoky bars, jazz clubs, that sort of thing. How a font can be influenced by intangibles is a question that I can't quite answer, but I can say that when I created it, it strongly reminded me of a couple of times spent in Paris back in the mid-90s.

Once, Blackletter was a calligraphy style. Full of ligatures, with letters bumping into each other to create an unapologetic picket-fence pattern. Some even claimed that the regularity improved legibility! But then Blackletter was cast into metal, and only a handful of established ligatures survived, while most interletter connections were disentangled. Everyone since followed suit, and hundreds of years later, digital Blackletter fonts were modelled mostly on the metal fonts that prevailed rather than the original handwriting. Up until now! AJ Quadrata is an authentic revival of the textura quadrata hand, and its major inspiration is a 15th-century Latin manuscript of the Bible from Zwolle, the Netherlands. The typeface is delivered in two flavors. The default cut is a modern take on textura quadrata that can be useful for today and tomorrow. The standard ligatures feature employs nearly all letters. The tittle of i retains its original, hasty squiggle form (except for the Turkish localization). Besides a faithful rendition of extended Latin including Vietnamese, numerous synthetic additions are included: polytonic Greek, Armenian, and Cyrillic (with Bulgarian and Serbian/Macedonian localizations). Since the beginning, “Histories” has been inspired by the shape of the letters displayed on the cover of fairy tale books or animated film covers. Likewise with the naming of the font "Histories" so that the message of the letters is conveyed. And this stylistic combination should also be reflected in the lowercase set which also allows to open up a spectrum of possible uses. Basic calligraphy represents a solid basis for the development of lowercase glyphs, ensuring proper interaction with uppercase letters. “Histories” features multiple ligatures that combine the playerful structure with a more attractive feel. We have used script style manuscripts from the final part of his life (from 1859 to 1881) to reconstruct this present font, as one exemple of the Victor Hugo's hands. It is a "Pro" font containing Western (including Celtic) and Northern European, Icelandic, Baltic, Eastern, Central European and Turquish diacritics. The numerous alternates and ligatures allow the font to look as close as possible to a real hand.
