Disruptor's Script is the alter ego of our previous project Gentlemen's Script. Unlike the Gentlemen's Script, the new font is an elegant rebel and defies traditions. The font is painted with a brush pen, which is especially noticeable in the characteristic shabbiness and different thicknesses of the strokes. While the Gentlemen's Script is an embodiment of a classic costume, dress shoes and an expensive watch, Disruptor's Script is a fashionable suit, sneakers, an iWatch and a tattoo that peeks from under the shirt. The font retained the incline, speed and overall sense of dynamics inherent in Gentlemen's Script, but got a bit more chaotic and unpredictable. This is especially noticeable in the newly added shabbiness, elongated extenders, a large number of contextual alternates and different ligatures. For some high-frequency letters (10 for the Latin alphabet and 10 for the Cyrillic alphabet), we painted alternative versions that are substituted in the word instead of the standard characters when following our preceding certain groups of letters. In addition, in the Disruptor's Script you can find functional ligatures, including some of the frequently occurring two- and three-letter combinations. All these solutions dilute the monotonous line of the set, add a bit of unpredictability to the font and a touch of chaos to inscriptions. To fully enjoy usage of the font, we recommend that you always keep the features contextual alternates (calt) and standard ligatures (liga) turned on. While there can be similar handwriting styles out there, no two handwritings are exactly the same. I like to think that I have the same handwriting style as my father, but I had never seen him write with lowercase letters, only in all capitals, except when signing his name on something in cursive. I recently came across a letter my father had written long ago to a friend. It was returned to sender, yet he kept it intact. The letter primarily thanked his friend for his hospitality when my father unexpectedly dropped in for a visit while traveling. I was so taken by the handwriting, that I decided to make it into a font, not only to remember my father, but also to forever preserve his handwriting. Canterbury is a late Medieval Gothic font with a rough edge. This blackletter face is available with four different types of Capital initial letters or combined into one Opentype Pro font with all variations plus historic ligatures, alternates and even a few ornaments.

This set of decorated initial letters was inspired by those used in 1510 in Nancy (France, Lorraine) for printing of "Recueil ou croniques des hystoires des royaulmes d'Austrasie ou France orientale[...]" Author Symphorien Champion, unknown printer. There were three sorts of initials family, but only one complete and clear, except a very few characters. The printer used some letters to represent others, as V, turned over to make a A, D to make a Q, M for E, So, the reconstruction was a little less difficult. Thorn, Eth, L slash and O slash were also added. The original font's letters was only drawn in white on a black background only, but it was tempting to propose a negative version in black on white. A few letters have multiple appearance, but only the A was clear enough to be reproduced. It can be used as variously as web-site titles, posters and flyer design, publishing texts looking like ancient ones, or greeting cards, all various sorts of presentations, as a very decorative, elegant and luxurious additional font... The P22 Underground Pro font family started in 1997 as the first and only officially licensed revival of Edward Johnston’s London Underground railway lettering. The original design by Richard Kegler sought to be as true to the original as possible. In 2007 P22 revised and expanded the fonts into a massive character set with additional weights, language support, and stylistic alternates. Endeavoring to make this font family a more versatile and useful tool for a designer, P22 sought to add true italics to this stalwart type design. The only other existing italic interpretation of Johnston’s Underground type was executed by the inimitable Dave Farey and Richard Dawson at Housestyle Graphics. We asked Dave Farey to imagine an Underground italic that would pair well with the P22 Underground, done as if Edward Johnston himself might approach the design challenge. This new italic version was then expanded for all six of the existing P22 Underground weights and characters sets by James Todd of JTD Type. Final mastering of the P22 Underground Pro roman and italic with a streamlined yet still expansive language coverage by P22 partner Patrick Griffin of Canada Type. These refinements remain true to the original Johnston design while employing contemporary typographic finesse to create six weights with optional alternates to increase legibility. The new P22 Underground Pro family is now a rock-solid and very versatile humanist sans serif font family that should be a cornerstone of any designer’s typographic toolkit. After five years in development, the new P22 Underground Pro is the most iconic and useful font family ever presented by P22 Type Foundry.
