ITC Chivalry is a calligraphic hybrid that honors the tradition of combining Roman capitals with italic lowercase letters. Drawn by Missouri lettering artist Rob Leuschke, who used a flat-nib pen on textured watercolor stock and then converted the drawings into a digital font, the design combines an old world" feel with "new world" legibility. A companion set of black letter caps completes the suite of characters. "I've loved drawing letters for as long as I can remember," says Leuschke. "Even in kindergarten, I tried to draw letters like my teacher." After graduating from college, Leuschke worked for a short time at a sign company in St. Louis, and in the early 1980s began working at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. His talent as a calligrapher and lettering artist eventually brought him back to St. Louis to begin a freelance career. Since then Leuschke has created over 250 fonts, primarily for the greeting card industry, that are now being used on work for his clients all over the world. Leuschke first conceived of the face as just the black letter caps; he later added the Roman letters to give the design more versatility. The Roman caps of ITC Chivalry combined with the lowercase are well suited to blocks of copy, while the more decorative black letter caps are ideal for showcasing short text of just a few words. Both sets of capitals also make great initial letters."

When Ray Larabie donated some font work files to the Stella Roberts font project, he suggested that whenever possible the design get reworked to reflect some update and change. Jeff Levine overhauled the original design and made numerous changes to end up with Seminar SRF and its oblique version. A friendly, clean sanserif with a nod to the classic Optima, this text face can easily fit into word copy or hold its own in headlines. Let us introduce you the official big update of Intro type family with essential upgrades to this contemporary sans serif. The weight distributions completely revised has brought 8 new weights and matching italics resulting in 72-fonts family with 22 fonts extra. Intro’s refined playfulness is further emphasized with additions of multiple ingredients, such as carefully adjusted Oblique alternatives next to the existing upright alternatives. All these styles are now available as a Condensed version. On top of that, there are 3 inline fonts. The glyph case was expanded to cover Extended Latin and Cyrillic with adequate language localization. Originally ZionTrain was built as a (probably first in Cyrillic!) navigation typeface for the Kharkiv identity project and Kharkiv subway and airport navigation systems. We wanted comprehensible, distinctive letterforms, that can help everybody on the way from Babylon to Zion. The project was used in Kharkiv promotion at homeland and abroad, but was rejected by the new government. As a corporate typeface it was used for a few cultural projects. Now it is equipped with Slavic Cyrillic and Monotonic Greek and has special Stencil faces especially for low-budget navigations (don't forget to get your own Stencil Medium for free!).

This beautiful old design was originated at the Connor Foundry, New York, about 1888. Ideal for the small "in between" lines in modern versions of Victorian job printing.

Dante was designed by Giovanni Mardersteig. Mardersteig started work on Dante after the Second World War when printing at the Officina Bodoni returned to full production. He drew on his experience of using Monotype Bembo and Centaur to design a new book face with an italic which worked harmoniously with the roman. Originally hand-cut by Charles Malin, Dante was adapted for mechanical composition by Monotype in 1957. The new digital font version has been re drawn, by Monotype's Ron Carpenter, free from any restrictions imposed by hot metal technology. The Dante font family was issued in 1993 in a range of three weights with a set of titling capitals. Hickory is the revival of an old unnamed font dating back to 1852 and was sold through a few different type foundries including Bruce, MacKellar Smiths & Jordan and James Conner's Sons. By the year 1900 this font disappeared from the major type foundries, now with the digital age of type we're proud to revive this old classic font that hasn't been used in over one hundred years. The original font was only available as an uppercase with punctuation and an ampersand. Today the character set has been updated to include a new lowercase, numbers and accented characters for Eastern, Central and Western European countries. Three fill fonts have been created for the Hickory font making it easier for you to add different colors, textures and patterns to the letters. You will need an application that works in layers such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator in order to use the fill fonts, some fill fonts may look good as a stand alone font, the Hickory fill fonts however do not look good used apart from the Hickory main font. Petra Beiße has resided for a long time in Wiesbaden, Germany, where she is working as a renowned calligrapher. It is rare that any of her scripts are transferred into digital format and sold worldwide as fonts. Because “Petras Script” became such a huge success, she decided to release this new design for digitization. Under the guidance of Günther Flake, Jessica Franke enlarged this font to contain over 1400 characters. EraMax Radial is a geometric sans serif meant to be set BIG, for big statements. It's the perfect face for signage, packaging posters, branding and so on and on, where a strong voice is needed. It has a modern look that will work in a retro setting. Or, should that be a vintage look that will work in a modern setting. This is the first of what is to be a series to typefaces inspired by the original hand painted signage found in the TH&B train station in Hamilton Ontario. This classic Art Deco, Or, more precisely, Art Moderne building designed by the New York architectural firm of Fellheimer and Wagner and completed in 1933. The original lettering included about 75% of the uppercase letters only, so the balance of the uppercase and the lowercase plus all the other glyphs were extrapolated from the look and feel of the existing uppercase letters. Figures are based on the numerals on the station clock, with adjustments made to harmonised with the letters.

Elise is a sweet natured, layered display typeface, with a few layers but a wealth of options. From the feminine to the fun to the nostalgic, Elise is a capable and personable set. Best used BIG and with color, you’ll always find an occasion for Elise’s charm. To use this typeface, once you have your copy in place in the design program of your choice, copy your text block and paste it directly on top of your existing text block. Set this new text block to a different Elise layer and voila! You’ll already start to see some interesting effects take place. In some cases, different effects are achieved by bringing The Elise Ribbed layer to the front or to the back. Also available is a free ornament set to get you started.

Work for the Xcetera typeface started with the desire to create a classical serif design but using the less contrasted stroke thickness found in a host of sans serif designs. My aim was to retain some of the clarity found in modern strokes yet use the serifs to aid in letter recognition and legibility. The result is a form of hybrid design that is surprising clear in small point sizes yet offer a lot of personality in larger formats. Suited for both display and text settings, Xcetera aims to be both functional and fun while looking to explore new possibilities for the classical typeface style.

Merlo Neue is the younger brother of Merlo. New family received refreshed, more square proportions and a new shape of many glyphs. However, what is the most important in new Merlo, is the wide range of instances – nine new weights, from Hairline to super dark Black – which allows to use the family in a complex way, depending on the user’s needs. Italic version has narrower and lighter proportions. Font has a glyph set for latin script and old-style figures. Merlo Neue would be a great choice for display use as well as for the longer texts. Font Merlo Neue is inspired by a “You And Me Monthly” published by National Magazines Publisher RSW "Prasa” from May 1960 till December 1973 in Poland.

On the Town JNL is a reworking of Parks Department JNL, giving it a classic "solid black Art Deco treatment". The wide monoline font of the original design was inspired by hand lettering on a WPA (Works Progress Administration) poster. Art Deco typography and the streamlined style it embraced often conjures up images of New York City in the 1930s and 1940s, thus On the Town JNL is named for the classic MGM musical starry Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Jules Munchen that was filmed on location in "the city that never sleeps".

The sister fonts Andron 2 English and Andron 2 Deutsch provide a groundbreaking new possibility to render literature text bodies in a sophisticated traditional and yet modern way of type. In German typographic history there has once been a long-lasting struggle called the Frakturstreit (the blackletter quarrel). It was about wether German text ought to be composed in blackletter or rather in Roman type, a question upon which even Goethe, Schiller and other period celebrities got grey over time. However, blackletter type remained alive and has just recently seen an astonishing renaissance. This is not about a blackletter revisionism or some ‘mixture’ concept arguably bridging the gap between either worlds. Andron 2 English and Andron 2 Deutsch offer a new approach to circumvent that old antagonism. As for the lowercase letters I applied certain features of blackletter type onto the glyphs – but entirely abandoned the principle of the broken stroke as such. The result is a lowercase alphabet in the classical Andron style which may be considered an attractive alternative for text in English, German or even other languages. So it’s no longer entirely about choosing between ‘modern’ Roman or ‘ancient’ blackletter only. Andron 2 English Regular and Andron 2 Deutsch Regular feature the same lowercase glyphs but differ in the majuscules (Andron 2 English has normal Latin capitals). ++++ 2012 + NEW! +++ In response to its growing popularity we now present five new fonts as part of the Andron 2 series. Andron 2 English is completed by an Italic and a Bold font. Andron 2 Deutsch now contains three interesting alternative fonts: Italic, Scriptive and Laendlich. Parca is a straightforward new take on the classic tradition of Grotesk sans, setting a new standard in the category. The letterforms are crafted with a gentle and careful drawing process that features small details like subtle tappering on the stems and optical corrections avoiding excessive geometry artefacts. Parca is indicated for design projects and branding when you are in the need of a neutral yet warm feeling allowing the content to be the focus and letting the forms to support it. A careful kerning and spacing features have been develop for the font, allowing it to be used either for small text or huge headlines. Parca is presented in a robust family of five weights plus matching italics and it supports most of the latin-based European languages.

Bright Grotesk is inspired by grotesque & humanist typefaces suggesting a serious yet friendly personality. It is designed to be legible in small sizes yet charmingly attractive in large settings. Bright Grotesk is a neutral design with a subtle touch of flair. It feels old but looks new, warm yet active, symmetrical yet organic, classic yet modern. Bright Grotesk has great details that reveals in display sizes and can be felt in small sizes as well.

Mr Brown is a typeface based on hand drawn letters to our new book for children. It has up to four alternate glyphs for each character. You can switch them manually or use OpenType Contextual Alternates feature. It will automatically set alternate glyphs de-pending on frequency of appearance of the same character. The script doesn’t throw random glyphs. For example in the word “HIPPOPOTAMUS” you will automatically get three different “P” glyphs and two “O” glyphs. It really works great but of course you can always fine tune it by hand.

Modesto Initials had existed as a single font for several years. I recently added a fill font to put color in the Inlines. The Inline font still works by itself. The Fill font works alone too, as an ultra Modesto on steroids. They work best together. Modesto is a loose-knit family based on a signpainters lettering style popular in the late-19th and early-20th centuries. It evolved from the lettering I used for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Logo. The Modesto family was not planned. It just happened, a few fonts at a time over about fifteen years. In 2014 seven new Italic fonts and two Chromatic families were added. There is a downloadable MODESTO USER MANUAL PDF in the Gallery section for this family.

A few nights ago, I was dreaming about making a cute font that the children in the city would love. I only remember some characters of the font but I thought that it was a sign to make a new font. So, here it is, Birly. A new font and I think its cute yet playful for your fun projects. Birly was made with all my heart, I love it, and I hope you like it too. Nova Horst is an amplified version of Horst, a highly original font (MyFonts Rising Star) based on etchings by the extraordinary artist and printmaker Horst Janssen. Nova Horst keeps all the amazing wilderness of the original font, while enriched with sharp OpenType programming, plus a whole new set of alternates, a handy set of ornaments and loads of cool unpredictable overlapping glyphs. Language support was also expanded. Now there are 5 sets of letters, 2 sets of numerals and a robust set of discretionary ligatures. OpenType functionalities now include an extremely playful Contextual Alternates feature and also Discretionary Ligatures and Stylistic Alternates. There are more than 60 ligatures glyphs which substitute pairs of letters for some extra-coolness • Stylistic Alternates turned on: access the counterless glyphs from the Stylistic Alternates set. Use each feature alone or mix them up for added boldness. Gorgeous extravaganza guaranteed!

Originally issued as Palm from the A. D. Farmer Foundry in New York, about 1887. This is a good early example of the transition from the ruffles and fluorishes of Victorian fonts to the more restrained decoration that came to be called Art Nouveau.

Subway Ticker is based on a 5×7 grid, electronic display observed on a New York subway train in February 2005. Also included is a ‘Grid’ variation of the font that is slightly more spaced out and based upon a more precise grid structure.

Steve Jackaman and Ashley Muir. It was our initial intention to develop a suitable lowercase for Les Usherwood's 'Elston' typeface, based on a few characters from an old German typeface called Hermes Grotesque (Woellmer, Berlin). However, the new design quickly took on a life of its own, and we decided to call it ‘Creighton’. Originally released as a four font family, we have now added eight more weights and made the entire family into 'Pro' versions for good measure.

Back in 2011, Gelato Script was the best-selling brush script font on MyFonts, and has remained popular, appearing on everything from designer handbags to primetime TV shows; from food blogs to wedding invitations; from glossy magazines to (not so imaginatively!) ice cream shops. All these years on, and it struck me that there is much that could be improved on; there are certain glyphs that never quite felt right. So I decided to update Gelato Script, and this is the result, Gelato Luxe. What started as a simple update quickly spiralled into a total overhaul. There is not a single glyph in the new version that’s the same. The entire font has been tweaked and tinkered with and redrawn and respaced and rekerned to get it to this point. While I wanted to maintain the feel of Gelato Script, Gelato Luxe represents a massive leap in sophistication, with new alternates for smoother connections, and a totally new OpenType engine, with no fewer than seventeen stylistic sets. Gelato Luxe is a truly versatile script font. You can effortlessly change the feel by playing with the many OpenType features. Make sure contextual alternates and standard ligatures are switched on, and it will work like a charm right out of the box.
