Stone and steel FS Benjamin is a flared serif typeface designed by Stuart de Rozario. Consisting of 12 styles ranging from Light, Book, Regular, Medium, SemiBold and Bold with Italics it has clear, delicate letterforms, punctuated with brutal chiselled angles. With a pure and crafted feel to the forms the typeface has traditional roots but has been designed to work in a contemporary setting. Archetypal proportions in terms of x-height to cap height and ascender to descender ratio, allow the typeface to feel familiar and be legible in all platforms. Delicate brutalism Inspired by the contrasts of London and named after Big Ben, FS Benjamin was designed by Stuart de Rozario and founder, Jason Smith. Walking around London Jason was inspired by the juxtaposition of the old and the new. Glass and steel architecture can often be found amongst traditional signage and coats of arms seen around the City. These surroundings sparked an idea to create a modern design based on an alphabet that would traditionally be carved from stone. “Much of the typography we see today is so similar. I thought what if we created a typeface with traditional roots but modernised it to sit amongst the punk and noise of the streets of London? Old with new. Business with busyness. Bergamot was inspired by vintage apothecary labels, but this font is actually quite modern in both style and effects. It features all caps plus 2 sets of alternates (so, 4 total variations for each letter). The coolest part… they intermingle randomly as you type! Ok, so it’s not exactly random, but that’s the easiest way to explain what you'll see. The letters are actually coded to rotate with their respective alternates. This effect is both useful or can be purely for fun! Let’s talk about the useful part for a sec… Repeating characters are often a dead giveaway that a font is being used. And sometimes we don't want that, right? We want to give the illusion that our design has been custom hand-lettered for a particular project… and can't be recreated by another. That’s exactly what this font aims to do. The randomizing effect is built into the Contextual Alternates feature and will likely be “on” automatically in your chosen program. Alas, even random doesn't guarantee that like characters won't appear in close proximity. So for those of you with access to the “Stylistic Alternates” feature, easily change repeated letters that are near each other simply by turning this feature “on”. Voila! Custom…hand…lettering. Back in 2011, Gelato Script was the best-selling brush script font on MyFonts, and has remained popular, appearing on everything from designer handbags to primetime TV shows; from food blogs to wedding invitations; from glossy magazines to (not so imaginatively!) ice cream shops. All these years on, and it struck me that there is much that could be improved on; there are certain glyphs that never quite felt right. So I decided to update Gelato Script, and this is the result, Gelato Luxe. What started as a simple update quickly spiralled into a total overhaul. There is not a single glyph in the new version that’s the same. The entire font has been tweaked and tinkered with and redrawn and respaced and rekerned to get it to this point. While I wanted to maintain the feel of Gelato Script, Gelato Luxe represents a massive leap in sophistication, with new alternates for smoother connections, and a totally new OpenType engine, with no fewer than seventeen stylistic sets. Gelato Luxe is a truly versatile script font. You can effortlessly change the feel by playing with the many OpenType features. Madromit(ma-do-ro-mi) is a somewhat nostalgic display font. Do you remember computer advertisements in the 80s and 90s? Yes, it is the most excited period in the history of computer. We call the design in this period Primitive Digital Design. Madromit is, so to speak, the revival or reconstruction of the primitive digital type in the period. The structure and elements of this font are very simple and the key features are geometric shape and simple griddy design with rounded corners, oval bowls, and right‐angled joints which we used to see in the primitive period. In addition to this, Madromit has one more characteristic feature — classic engraving font —. It is called Open Style. Open style is one of the classic method to decorate and emphasize the font. Our aim is the synergy by the mixture of primitive digital design and classic engraving method. This mixture makes new impression we have never seen before. Madromit family consists of 5 styles for stacking color font. Please use Photoshop or Illustrator, or your favorite graphic design apps that can handle layers. Layers are the printing plates of wood type. You should be able to change text color for each layers. Madromit "Standard" style is the base of this font family.
