Whatchamacallit is a friendly and readable sans-serif, inspired by some of our all-time favorites -- Gill Sans, Futura, Venus and Antique Olive. But, like its machinery-contraption namesakes Doohickey and Framistat, Whatchamacallit has a lively personality -- the strokes are a little wavy, the ends a bit bulbous, and the circles are like little loaves of bread, rising in the Whatchamacallit's oven... delicious!

The Baksheesh family comes in three weights with accompanying italics and small caps. The catalyst for the development of the typeface came from the desire to create a contemporary family of constructed letterforms built upon a flexible system. The aesthetic of the font is influenced by the characters drawn by Wim Crouwel in 1976 for Olivetti’s typewriter font that could support varying character widths, hence Baksheesh’s faux-monospace appearance. Each of the characters has been designed according to an intricate grid, helping to rationalise the letterforms into a system that can be translated across the various styles. When designing AM Sans One, it was a great challenge for me to develop a modern sans serif, which despite the large number of existing fonts in this sector has its own unique character. Starting point for the design concept was the cap O, designed as a rectangle with rounded corners, and not as usual as a circle or oval. The O should form the basis for the whole alphabet. Another feature are the characters with oblique starting and end strokes such as "A, V, W". These have not exactly straight, diagonal lines, but have a slight curvature. Thus, these letters do not look too geometric. Also the cap K deviates slightly from the usual shape which makes AM Sans One different from other already existing fonts. I could well imagine applying this font for areas such as engineering or architecture.

Hellenic Typewriter is a slab serif for text and display, combining the typewriter aesthetic's balance of elegance and pragmatism with some of the extended western flavour of Hellenic Wide. Rounded strokes, some unorthodox slab details and playful, looping tails all add to Hellenic Typewriter’s warmth and approachability, while its typewriter-inspired proportions and clean forms provide rythym and an honest, confident voice. The lightest weights, laying bare the simple, partly-geometric and optically-monolinear construction, embody an assertive elegance. Ball terminals feature extensively throughout the design, in both lower and uppercase. This miroring of details creates a greater harmony between the cases and ensures that the true character of Hellenic Typewriter is not lost when setting in all-caps. Expressive true italics elaborate upon and emphasise some of the freer, more decorative elements of the roman styles.

Robert Hunter Middleton drew the original design of Stellar for the Ludlow Typograph Company in Chicago. Work began in the late 1920s, when Middleton was asked to create a sans serif type family to compete with European imports of Futura and Kabel. Stellar was Middleton's attempt to raise the ante. Where Futura and Kabel were geometric in design and monotone in weight, Stellar was based on roman character proportions and stroke weighs were stressed. In the late 1990s, Dave Farey took on the task of reviving the Stellar design. While Ludlow cut Stellar in a full range of point sizes, the family was limited to just a roman and bold design. Farey's revival is twice as large a family. It ranges from a very light called Stellar Nova to a very bold called Zeta In between are Lyra and Epsilon.

UXB Stencil and its companion UXB Spray contain both the stencil and the sprayed letters in two fonts. The font is a headline display uppercase only character set, which is duplicated in the lowercase keys, identical in form (except for an alternate “Z”). No need to remember to hit the caps lock, the font will work with lowercase key strokes. UXB Spray is also a headline display uppercase only character set but, includes a few “drip” characters (find them in the lowercase key positions) these apply when you have held the spraycan over the stencil too long and made a mess. Use separately or together for a maximum design explosion. Other than Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign, many standard simple programs now come with Opentype capabilities - even the most basic ones such as Apple's Text Edit, Pages, Keynote, iBooks Author, etc. Even Word has found ways to incorporate it. HS Alwafa is an Arabic display typeface. It is useful for book titles and creative graphic projects where a contemporary, streamlined look is desired for digital purposes. The font is based on the simple lines of sequre Kufi calligraphy, that support Arabic, Persian, Urdu and Kurdish. This font was created in the beginning as a digital weight in 2012 for use by an engineering digital company. The company tends to follow the geometrical united and equal shape in both vertical and horizontal dimensions and with a tendency for digital strokes showing digital numbers under the name of base. I followed that with three styles: first, the digital with a solid base, second is a stencil and the third is the regular solid font. By producing this font, we provided the Arabic fonts library with various styles which grant many design purposes.

Rondalia is a timeless yet modern font in which the strokes vary in thickness. It is highly readable yet has an informality combined with a quiet elegance. Above all else, Rondalia is well-behaved, ladylike, and can be expected to behave correctly and make the right impression in a wide range of situations. Rondalia is clean and rounded with a slightly Byzantine flavor. It is extremely versatile, equally effective for magazine design, movie posters and cosmetic ads, and for invitations, greeting cards and company profiles. The fact that there is very little difference in height between upper and lower case letters creates a calm, peaceful impression. The font is letterspaced and kerned and has a complete character set (all upper and lower case, numerals and mathematical symbols and a complete set of accented and special characters).

The typeface is inspired by our love of old hand-painted signs in butchers, and based on some very quick sketches using a brush pen to find what shapes worked. There is quite a quirky element to the type, as we tried to create the original sketches by rotating the brush pen to reflect the strokes of a paint brush. This lead to a horizontal stressing, which is most noticeable in letters like C, G, S and J. Sidestroke comes in 2 styles, both a standard solid version, and a pre-shadowed outline version. This can be outlined and divided in Illustrator to quickly create an alternate coloured fill for your letters. The lowercase letters have been designed to automatically horizontally align with any uppercase letters, which is a great shortcut when creating logos or other unique type layouts.
