Edits and Credits JNL is a cheerful sans serif typeface modeled from ceramic letters in a movie titling set from the late 40s or early 1950s. In the original kit, letters would be lined up accordingly against a contrasting background and photographed for home or professional movie and slide titles. Note: The cap height is slightly smaller than normal for the respective point size. This will give the effect of wider line spacing - similar to that of home movie titles.

In October 2010 I released a font called “Zanoix” It was based upon a an old horror movie poster. I looked through and old folder, and found the font that served as a base for this the grungy font. Zonaix is opposite to Zanoix, because it is super clean, pointy and is made entirely of straight lines! With the sharp pointed serifs and whacky lines, it is a good choice for a legible seriffed font - not necessarily for anything scary!

It took me a long time, but I think I now understand why people of my generation and older feel the need to frame current events in an historical context or precedents, while most of the young couldn't care less about what happened ten years ago, let alone centuries back. After living for a few decades, you get to a point when time seems to be moving quite fast, and it’s humbling to see that your entire existence so far can be summed up in a paragraph or two which may or may not be useful to whoever ends up reading the stuff anyhow. I suppose one way to cope with the serenity of aging is trying to convince yourself that your life and work are really an extension of millenia of a species striving to accept, adapt to, and improve the human condition through advancing the many facets of civilization -- basically making things more understandable and comfortable for ourselves and each other while we go about doing whatever it is we are trying to do. And when you do finally convince yourself of that, history becomes a source of much solace and even a little premonition, so you end up spending more time there. Going far back into the history of what I do, one can easily see that for the most part it was ruled by the quill. Western civilization’s writing was done with quill pens for more than thirteen centuries and with newer instruments for about two. By the mid-18th century, the height of the quill experience, various calligraphy techniques could be discerned and writing styles were arranged in distinct categories. There are many old books that showcase the history of it all. I recommend looking at some whenever the urge comes calling and you have to get away from backlit worlds. Multiple sources usually help me get a better perspective on the range of a specific script genre, so many books served as reference to this quill font of mine. Late 17th century French and Spanish professional calligraphy guides were great aides in understanding the ornamental scope of what the scribes were doing back then. The French books, with their showings of the Ronde, Bâtarde and Coulée alphabets, were the ones I referenced the most. So I decided to name the font Auberge, a French word for hotel or inn, because I really felt like a guest in different French locales (and times) when I going through all that stuff. Because it is multi-sourced, Auberge does not strictly fit in a distinct quill pen category. Instead, it shows strong hints of both Bâtarde and Coulée alphabets. And like most of my fonts, it is an exercise in going overboard with alternates, swashes, and ornamental devices. Having worked with it for a while, I find it most suitable for display calligraphic setting in general, but it works especially well for things like wine labels and event invitations. It also shines in the original quill pen application purpose, which of course was stationery. Also, as it just occurred to me, if you find yourself in a situation where you have to describe your entire life in 50 words or less, you may as well make it look good and swashy, so Auberge would probably be a good fit there as well. This is one quill script that no large bird had to die for. A few technical notes The Auberge Script Pro version includes 1800 glyphs, everything is included there. Also latin language support. We recommend you to use the latest design application to have full access to alternates, swashes, small caps, ornaments, etc. The images from the gallery uses this version. For better results use the fonts with “liga” feature on. MenimElim, meaning "my hand" in Azeri, is a handwriting-based font available in two weights: regular and bold.

The BATTISTA typeface stands in the long tradition of the designs developed by Giambattista Bodoni, who made his famous typefaces in the end of the eighteenth century. Similar designs can be found on various specimen books e.g. Alexander Wilson, John Bell, Edmund Fry and Alexander Thibaudeau. One of the best italics was available by Stephenson Blake & Co. foundry form Sheffield, England. In the end of the nineteenth century an unknown punch cutter at the German type foundry Schelter & Giesecke made an very bold cut of this Bodoni design. He brought both designs, the regular and the italic to an new level of harmony. Compared to the original Bodoni designs the new typeface was a lot bolder, which was well taken by the audience in this time. The BATTISTA typeface is an remarkable design, assembled of ultra bold and very fine shapes, but in all, the spirit of Bodonis design was well preserved. BATTISTA is a classic display design. The fine details are best shown on larger text sizes.

Morro is based on simple geometric shapes – circles, triangles and rectangles. Imagine cutting circles, triangels and rectangles from paper and arranging them into letters where the outer edges form a filled figure. Arranging figures like this to form letters is nothing unique. You can find several beautiful examples of alphabets that inspired the creation of Morro. Everywhere from a 1936 booklet by Draughtsman called ”Modern lettering for all branches of commercial arts” to obvious examples is from the paragon of the design industry - Milton Glaser - with his typeface Baby Teeth. What sets Morro apart from other digitized versions of Glasers' ”Baby teeth”, or other similar designed fonts, is that Morro is expanded into lower case and also supports Basic latin, Western European, Central European, south Eastern European and Pinyin. There are also stylistic alternatives to some of the glyphs. Morro Regular works like a stencil and is accompanied by a block shadow style and an outline. The Morro family of fonts are layered and can be superimposed on each other to create several types of text effects.

Here I present Round - a type family that is derived form Epilepsja, which was my first alphabet commercially out. After its release I came to think that there should be other fonts of this design that would enrich the variety of choice. Here comes ‘Epilepsja Round’ which is soft and friendly while the Regular family remains firm and sharp. It supports all Latin-based European and African languages and acts as a multicolour layered font. best for headlines, titles and other display uses.. It is an all-caps alphabet of stencil-sprayed and painted letters found in the city space. The glyphs are simple but unordinary. Every letter has something from Escher-like 3D illusion, but is flat simultaneously. Epilepsja Round consists of three styles: Outline, Solid and Fill. Outline is the base from which the other two styles are created. When you mix Solid with Fill, you can create two-color Outline style. You can even mix it with not-Round Epilepsja! Solid is neat and legible in small sizes. Use it for posters, headlines, magazines, websites or anything you like.
