A piece of sheet music from Hungary (circa1921) entitled “Praerie Trott” offered up some playfully rounded hand lettering in a cartoon-like style. This was the visual model for Hungarian Nouveau JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Casemark Stencil JNL is a bold sans serif design modeled after an image of a hand made antique shipping stencil used by the Bridgeport Brass Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut. The type design is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Modeled after a 1928-1928 design by M.F. Benton -- Broadway --, TC Broadway is ideal for show posters and signs for restaurants and boutiques. The TC Broadway font has strong contrasting strokes, and as such is only suitable for short lines.

A 1916 lettering book provided an example of a slab serif alphabet with Art Nouveau influence designed by Thomas Wood Stevens. This alphabet served as the model for Nouveau Lettering JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The cover of the vintage sheet music for "This Little Piggie Went to Market" (from the 1934 film "Eight Girls in a Boat") features a hand-lettered sans serif with intermittent chamfered angles. This became the model for Shopping Basket JNL.

Spring is a lively contemporary script that designer Garrett Boge modeled after his own brush lettering. It was released in 1988 at the launch of LetterPerfect's font collection, and has seen increasing use in advertising, packaging, and point-of-display promotions.

A poster for the 1952 film “Diplomatic Courier” featured the title hand lettered in a bold serif stencil design. With some modifications, this served as the model for Government Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Courant means "newspaper". Courant font was modeled on 17th century Dutch newspapers and most of the glyphs are authentic. The 'modern' glyphs, like @, $, €, * and several others have been designed by me, as they were not in use in the 1600's.

Stencil Modernistic JNL was modeled directly from an early 1960s lettering stencil that favored the Art Deco style. There is minimum kerning due to the nature of this typeface, so designers should use their own judgment when working with it.

An interesting bit of Art Deco influenced serif hand lettering was found on the cover of the sheet music for 1938's "Boatman's Serenade". This became the model for the digital font Inlet JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions.

County Clerk JNL was modeled after the vintage Hamilton wood type design Gothic Special, and is available in both regular and oblique versions. An early grotesk font, this condensed sans serif lends itself well to short headlines and brief body copy.

Madre Script is a typeface that experiences adopting two building models: the typographic (with repetition of shapes) and the script (with the freedom of writing). The models are presented in a subtle, unobtrusive way and mainly without conflicts. The essence of each personality is present, coexisting harmoniously and enjoying the same stylistic space. After careful evaluation of the connections between characters, intelligent standards have been established for use of the ‘Contextual Alternates - calt’ OpenType feature, that used together with the ‘Ligatures - liga’ feature, offers a gentle and friendly pace. Madre, is therefore, a discreet, near silent ‘scriptypography'. It is the ideal choice for editorial, packaging and branding.

Himawari means ‘Sunflower’ in Japanese. It was raining while I worked on this font, so I needly something to cheer me up - like bright yellow sunflowers! Himawari Script is a nice and neat handmade font, which was (more or less) inspired by an older font of mine, called mama Bear and, like the font it was modeled on, was made with a bamboo pen and Chinese ink. Himawari Script comes with some swashes and a cute smiling sunflower (just enable Stylistic Alternates and hit *).

Something about the swoopy loops in the uppercase characters of this typeface, originally called "Ronde", reminds one of the signature 'do of a certain real-estate-mogul-turned-TV-celebrity, and so this font was named. Delightfully different, this face can be playful or formal, as suits the the occasion. To complete its nineteenth-century creds, the font includes classic bishops fingers at the ASCII tilde and ASCII circumflex positions. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Narration is a bright serif font with classic proportions, that is inspired by the Renaissance as well as neoclassical tradition, contemporary design with a delicate sense of rhythm, clarity and legibility. The Vidal is a display typeface designed in 2016 by Elena Albertoni. It comes in three styles: Regular, Bold and Black. This wide sans-serif with low contrast is inspired by French and British Art Deco lettering and it is suitable for use in medium to large sizes, where it offers good legibility and all its friskiness. The attitude of Vidal when set in all caps derives from the models that inspired the design: mainly capital-only lettering pieces; the essential addition of lowercase letters distinguishes Vidal from similar revivals and makes it a great modern choice.

Elegant and idiosyncratic, AB Ticena is a display and extended typeface inspired by the ancient forms of Lombardic capitals. Ardone is a well-modulated humanist serif font family with Garalde roots. A distant ancestor is Minister (a German font designed by Fahrenwaldt in 1929) through my first font, Diaconia Old Style. This first style, book, is slightly condensed and very elegant with thin bracketed serifs. There are many OpenType features with over 600 characters: Caps, lower case, small caps, ligatures, discretionary ligatures, swashes, small cap figures, old style figures, numerators, denominators, accent characters (including CE), ordinal numbers (1st-infinity: lining and oldstyle), and so on. Rasteroids is a typographic flashback to computing of the mid 1980s, when 9-pin dot-matrix printers were the state of the art, and most home computer displays were TVs hooked up to RF modulators. Rasteroids not only captures the dot-matrix printer look, but recreates the rasterized appearance of text on those lower-resolution monitors. Unlike that dot matrix type of yore, Rasteroids does have some variation in character width, and is legible in small blocks of copy. Still, it is best used sparingly, or as a special effect.

Ned Std. is part of a series of typographic experiments from the young Swiss designer Michael Parson. OffBit is a font type derived from Bitmap with various variations from each box.
