We projected the alphabet onto a sheet of transparent paper, outlined the letters with a fineliner and then filled them in. It was very tedious work, but the resulting headline had its own charm and we had a permanent race going on who was best and fastest. I won most of the time! Introducing Terrapin! I named this after listening to a song called "Terrapin on a Tightrope." Considering the fact that a terrapin is a kind of turtle, it makes that song title seem pretty harrowing! This font has heavy roots in one of my favorite lettering styles. It's rough, scrappy, and likes to do its own thing. It has a full uppercase and lowercase set, numbers, punctuation, and lots of extended Latin characters for language support. It also includes alternate versions of 17 lowercase letters. Where Terrapin really shines is in the ligatures. I've written separate two- and three-letter combined forms for some of the most common letter combinations, and a few uncommon ones to boot. There are almost 100 ligatures in here, all PUA-encoded so everyone can access them (and also coded so if your software does automatic ligature replacement, they'll pop right in).

Smooth with the roughness and made from scratch, Miser sans serif font family was designed by Mislav Serdarušić and it's name is derived from designers name. Miser typeface blueprints were somewhere in the subconsciousness of the designer but have seen first light of the day in September, 2021. during the Covid pandemic. Inspiration comes from handwritten technical letters of designers parents and graffiti explorations. It comes in 12 styles (6 weights with pairing Italics) with all Latin European language characters which are in daily use(without Greek or Cyrillic). Designed in contemporary appearance with innovations on some letters. Basic ligature set is included. It is suitable for magazines, books and websites, various graphics and paragraphs. Miser has a taste of science, technology, design & architecture, sports and more, yet contemporary boldness but distinctive to regular and oval modern typeface shapes. A must have on your system.

The upper-case letters of Lentzers fit into the shape of a convex lens and the lower-case letters fit into the shape of a concave lens. The typeface was designed to have concave shapes alternate with convex shapes so the letters snuggle together. The OpenType contextual alternatives (calt) feature will automatically make this happen if your word processor supports it. (To get only concave or convex shapes, one must turn off the contextual alternatives feature. With only concave shapes the spaces between letters form thin convex lenses and with only convex shapes the spaces between letters form thin concave lenses. The name of the family was inspired by these lens shapes and also by the name of distant ancestors.) Lentzers is caps only. It comes in three weights: light, regular, and bold. It is eye-catching for posters and titles and poorly suited for text.

Inspired by the hand-lettered sound effects found in comic books, Dave West takes a three-dimensional deep dive into the genre with his extensive onomatopoeic alphabet originally designed for Photo-Lettering, Inc. The sonorous voice of Kerpow’s caps captures “cartoon” brilliantly, while the accompanying lowercase provides options for broader applications. Turn to Kerpow for eye-catching children’s book covers, fast casual restaurant marketing, or family fun centers, and…BAM!…all eyes will be on your design. Originally drawn in the late 1960s, Kerpow was digitized by Allen Mercer in 2011. Please note that the shaded version of the typeface is composed by layering the Regular font and a separate Drop Shadow font. Some assembly required. This is the digitization and considerable expansion of the cheeky and enormously popular film type Eightball, one of the most widely used faces of the 1970s and 1980s. Round and happy like a bouncy ball, these are letters after a sign maker’s own heart. Seen everywhere in its film version, from bingo and pool hall parlor signs to comic books, now this computer version opens the door for the happy roundness to be used on a much larger scale by anyone who designs layouts on a computer. The original film type included a few alternates. We included them, but we added many more as well. So make sure to check out the various OpenType features in your program while using this font. Eightball is great for a variety of applications, including signage, rubber stamps, poster design, titling, cartoons, comics, and pretty much anything where happy and round fit in.
