It’s Monday, the weekend’s just ended and there’s a looong way to friday. But let’s get things shaking, even though Monday is considered the worst day of the week (by many, but not all, people!) I like Mondays, that’s why I made this font - in order for you to have a great day using this comic thin lined party font! Fun fact: This font was finished on a Tuesday! :)

The term Old West conjures up memories of vintage movies and TV shows featuring saloons and dancehall girls. Old wanted posters and cowboys. Rowdy prospectors in the Goldrush, mountains and lots of wide open space. Many of the lettering styles of those days are still in use, reflecting the past, present, and probably the future here. Western style fonts appear in the signage of bars, restaurants, casinos and ski areas. It's a style that speaks of the way it once was in a nostalgic way. The universe always made me curious as to what could be found beyond earth. For the past few weeks, I’ve been staring outside my bedroom window looking at the same star. The Vienna Workshop was a production community of visual artists, which operated from 1903 to 1932. The emphasis lay on fine craftsmanship and its motto was: "Better to work 10 days on one product than to manufacture 10 products in one day". The typeface before you was based on some of the artwork produced by Vienna Workshop artists, in particular that of Koloman Moser. Vienna Workshop comes with some unusual glyphs, intriguing ligatures and Babylonian language support.

The idea for the typeface Dekalb was born in 2013 after a day of photographing signage, murals and graffiti around Dekalb and Wyckoff avenues in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The initial drafts of the letterforms were first made into a single ultra-weight font that I used while working as the Creative Director for Sneaker News Magazine. After having made its first appearance in Sneaker News, I decided to expanded Dekalb to an eight style family.

Although it may look as another of my scripts with juicy swashes, this time I explored in depth the pairing and interaction with capital letters for more unique results. Why? We are going through some crazy days where the number of people interested in letters is only growing. We see lettering everywhere: I can say that finally our field is shouting out loud; letters are THE protagonist more than ever. Hence the need of combining and pairing different styles is booming. Fabiola Script and Fabiola Caps were done in a way that they seem to need each other. There's nothing better than the above images to prove this. But, how does it work? The big swashes of the Script style were designed so they can surround, wrap and mingle with the Caps styles. The smaller swashes are meant to be used when the Script is alone. Simple, right?
