Constant is a meticulously constructed slab serif display typeface of a sturdy lineage. The strong horizontal and vertical rhythm and calculated angles dominate its appearance, yet sweeping broad shapes infuse the design with an overall warm undertone. Constant is best suited for setting short headlines, word marks, posters and other visual communication ephemera. Particular when set in all uppercase the typeface’s squarish and resolute nature commands attention and projects authority. Despite the prominent slab serifs and their angular corner details, these fonts work well also for shorter text passages, especially in the lighter to medium weights. When typesetting Constant in paragraphs spanning several lines the face requires a fair amount of leading to not appear vertically compressed. As customary for Underscore’s catalog the fonts have very extensive support for languages in the Latin script, reaching from Afrikaans to Vietnamese and Zulu. The fonts are carefully spaced, kerned and hinted, and include a variety of typographic glyphs and OpenType features like various ligatures, number features and case alternatives. Constant has been developed and released in 2018 as the proud forth release from the Underscore label. This design by Johannes Neumeier is available from the Underscore webshop as well as selected retailers.

Thrift is a beautifully curvaceous serif font with smooth curves and fine lines and plenty of OpenType features. Thrift is perfect for your next editorial, advertising, branding, book, or invitation project. Thrift Regular and Thrift Italic each include approximately 800 glyphs. This script font was inspired by the type used in Leyden by Jan Seversz to print Breviores elegantioresque epistolae [...], author Francesco Filfelo, circa 1509. The original font contains all lower case characters, except w, eth, thorn, lslash, oslash and so... and almost upper case. In addition, one set of small lombardic initials were also nearly complete. It take place instead of the Bold style (in only one package)offering a real and rare complete historical printing set... The original small "a" hight was 2,8 mm !, the upper case hight no more than nearly 5 mm, the initials hight almost 15 mm, covering nearly two lines. This font includes "long s", naturally, as typically medieval and also a few ligatures, but not any variants. We have entirely recreated some characters, upper, lower and initials, to fill gaps. It is used as variously as web-site titles, posters and fliers design, publishing texts looking like ancient ones, or greeting cards, all various sorts of presentations, menus, certificates, as a very decorative, elegant and unusual font, besides its historical scrupulous reality... This font supports enlargement as well as small size.

Crisis is a child of the dictatorship of economics. Since time is money the time budget of its production has been rigidly limited. Crisis was designed and generated completely on one single day. The target was to make a useful font while investing nothing more than absolutely indispensable. The component-based glyph construction scheme of another font has been utilized, further detailing work has been strictly limited. Due to those restrictions some letters have rather unusual shapes. This straightforward and contemporary sans (320 glyphs) is of compact proportions and very legible even when set in small sizes. In printing you get more text on one page and thus save up to 30% of paper.

It has all the accented characters used in most European languages.

American designer Stanley Davis created the font Amelia™ in 1965. What sets Linotype Amelia apart from all the rest are its unusual inner spaces. Their teardrop forms lead the readers eye through the line of text. These teardrop shapes can also be seen in the contours of the characters themselves, making the letters look rounded and flexible. Treppenwitz (literally: ‘Staircase Wit’) is a German word describing a conversational remark that only occurs to someone after the opportunity to make it has passed. I love words like this: they can sum up a whole sentence or a complex train of thought. Treppenwitz font is hand brushed. It’s a little uneven, a little shaky, but will look good on product packaging and book covers. Comes with loads of diacritics and double letter ligatures as well.

Brak is the dutch word for ‘brackish’, the mix of fresh and salten sea water found in river deltas and estuaries. Brak is also VetteLetters’ straightforward display font with straight lines and rounded ends, and comes in two weights. It does really well in sea food dishes like fish, lobster, mussels and shrimps. Brak doesn't beat around the bush, it is an all-caps typeface with alternative capital letterforms assigned to the lowercase positions, for a variety of combinations.

Some words from the designer... West coast artist Teri Kahan developed a "design font" of 68 pictographs capturing the sentiments of relationship, connection and synchronicity. Many of the characters were created with phrases in mind like, "handing you the world on a platter", "howling at the moon", and "message in a bottle". Others represent life experiences. The clean, simple illustration style originates from the look of hand-carved rubber stamps, and lends itself beautifully to logos and graphics.

A tessellation is a shape that can be used to completely fill the plane without gaps or overlaps—simple examples are isosceles triangles, squares, and hexagons. Tessellation patterns are eye-catching and visually appealing, which is the reason that they have long been popular in a variety of decorative situations. TessieSomeMore has two family members, a solid style that must have different colors to be useful and an outline style. They can be used separately or they can be used in layers with the outline style on top of the solid style. For rows to align properly, leading must be the same as point size. Most of the shapes in TessieSomeMore are Escher-like. Over half are either bug-like and bird-like shapes. Space Rocks! A Retro Sci-Fi Font Inspired by 1950s Television Serials “Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! The next episode of Space Rocks is on tonight! What’s it about? Well, it’s all to do with this family of astronauts who crash land on Mars and how they survive all sorts of alien creatures and killer storms! The science is really real too! Who needs school!!!” And so goes the story of one young fan whose imagination is captured by the latest offering in a golden-age of TV science-fiction. A brand of 1950s programming that offered a light-hearted and optimistic view of the future full of exploration, discovery and hazardous adventure! Sometimes even a cautionary tale to live on in your nightmares! With Space Rocks I want to capture this vibe with an all-caps design inspired the opening titles of these shows, fully hand-drawn with a range of discretionary ligatures that add a comic (not atomic!) touch. The package includes Regular and Outlined (all hand-drawn) versions with a complete set of alternatives to help maintain the analogue look. This font also includes unique uppercase and lowercase characters, along with numerals, punctuation, language support, underlines and symbols. The Artful Dodger is a character in Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist. Dickens wrote his books in the Victorian Era, which also gave birth to a beautiful and extensively used typeface called Clarendon. The typeface was developed by Robert Besley and first published in 1845. Artful Dodger was modeled on the glyphs found in a 1865 book, which was typeset in Clarendon. Artful Dodger has not been 'cleaned', so the glyphs look rough and worn, just like the book I found them in.

Cigar is a revival of a 1970s and 1980s typeface called Cucumber or Nassel Black or Scanner. It has been carefully redrawn and expanded into a full-featured OpenType font. Cigar Octo and Cigar Quarto are new angular reinterpretations of Cigar. In Cigar Octo, most round shapes have been replaced by octagonal shapes. In Cigar Quarto, most round shapes have been replaced by rectangular shapes. Use Cigar to get attention. ITC Coventry is the work of American designer Brian Sooy. ITC Coventry is what type would look like if you left a gothic font out in the rain. IF you look close, you'll see the roots of a handsome sans serif font buried under a layer of grime and rust, basically." The low-budget student flyers that Sooy saw in the Coventry section of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, inspired him to design this font and the result is a typeface which looks as though it has been faxed or photocopied many times. "While it looks very irregular in text, it's very carefully spaced to give that effect," says Sooy. ITC Coventry was designed to work just as well in text as in headlines or even on billboards."
