Island Time JNL is based on the hand-lettered title from a piece of 1940s sheet music called "An Island Melody". The motivation to develop a new mono-Phoenica family was that I was not satisfied with monospaced fonts in programming code, or simply in e-mail correspondence. The Mono Phoenica solves the problem of a typical monospaced font, a rigid, fixed width.
