Poynor described a process by which typefaces, once “fresh, unexpected, precisely attuned to the moment”, get used increasingly often in less and less appropriate contexts and end up looking "irredeemably passé". Versteeg was originally designed as a font that would work at a singular pixel level. In the spirit of this reduction, Versteeg was designed with an x-height of 3 units with capitals at 4 units. This extreme simplification is what makes Versteeg unique. After designing the square version of the typeface, creating a series of circular versions was a natural evolution. These versions have a resemblance to braille, but don't actually have a relationship with any braille characters. The width of each face is carefully designed to make sure that the letters will align perfectly in multiple lines. Versteeg is, for the most part, a display typeface, and isn't recommended for large blocks of text.

Creating the condensed version for the Brandon Text was the missing project to complete the Brandon series. Brandon Text was created as a companion to Brandon Grotesque. When we started to designed Brandon Grotesque Condensed we felt that there should also a condensed counterpart for small sizes; so we made Brandon Text Condensed. While a condensed typeface is not just a squeezed original, we took the Grotesque Condensed as a starting point for the Text Condensed version simultaneously we also kept an eye on Brandon Text to find the perfect missing variables.

A 1930s-era poster to "See America - Welcome to Montana" was issued by the United States Travel Bureau; one of the WPA (Works Progress Administrations) projects promoting travel and tourism within the country. Since 2005, I have repeatedly attempted to create a neutral-looking grotesque with a humanistic character. I wanted a pleasant, soft typeface. The typeface should appear similar to Helvetica or Univers, but with more open shapes and therefore better readability. The features are deliberately reserved with 4 gradations plus italics. The onum feature for Old Style Figures contains additional alternative letters such as a looped g. The italics have a swash feature with some decorative shapes. As a sans serif, HGB Bacco does not appear to be technically constructed, but has a friendly, open character and is also suitable for longer texts.

A square but fair font, or as they say in Germany "kradratisch, praktisch, gut". Because of the simpleness in this font, I decided add two styles less square to the family: funky and zit.

Igor is a hand drawn font designed for display use - it is mainly all cap with different glyphs for capitals and lowercase. Its purposefully messy design will look great on invitations, posters and headlines.

The design of the Tabwa font was inspired by the font Neuland designed by Rudolf Koch in 1923. Rather than attempting to re-create his font in a digital form as so many others have done, I have tried to capture the "spirit" of his font and merge this with the spirit of Africa. As a result the characters differ markedly from Koch's original styles and have much less of an "Art Deco" look to them. To further modernize the font I have included all the characters missing in Koch's original (a full lower case, as well as all punctuation, diacritics, special characters etc). The result is a thoroughly modern re-interpretation of the original "Neuland". The numbers (0 to 9) bear no relation to Koch's originals but, I believe, are far more in keeping with the alphabetic characters in the font. The triangles that decorate the characters of this African font are typical of the patterns found in the Tabwa culture of central and west Africa (in the Congo region).

Auto license plates in the United Kingdom are made with a typeface originally designed by (and named for) Charles Wright and must meet strict criteria as to type height, weight and spacing. A bold sans serif design; British Vehicle JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Capricho is a warm, comfy, and pleasantly readable typeface. It unites the virtues of a 17th century transitional typeface with its own distinctive and individual flavour. Its large descenders and ascenders make for a distinguished appearance. The complementary Italics with its gently flowing ductus is the contrasting counterpoint.

A semi text type with thin stresses, in Granite Semi Stencil the overall weight of the Granite Regular has been decreased by a set unit which has obliterated the stress to leave white space. This gives the typeface an idiosyncratic almost arbitrary take on the utility Stencil aesthetic.

AREA 88 is an experimental grunge style font with a unique look. The font is easily recognized with a messy, dirty texture . AREA 88 has all the features usually included in a fully professional font.
