Some characters have stylised blackletter features, some are quasi-bitmapped, some are blends between upper and lower case. This also inspired the name since the flu virus changes every time it comes around, it's a new disease every time you have to stay home under the covers drinking hot tea.

We have been in lockdown for a long time now. The schools were also closed, meaning my kids had to stay at home. This week the schools reopened (not a day too soon!), which means my kids can play with their friends again and learn something too! My wife and I pack their lunchboxes every day and always add some fruit for snack time. That fruity snack inspired me to create this rather messy font! Fruity Snack is a handmade display font. Pusekatt means Pussycat in Norwegian. It was finished on a rather gloomy monday, which reminded me of Norway and I just like cats. There you have it: the naming of fonts explained. There were several motivations for this font. It was a font in my style, a left-handed designer. But also, I wanted a script designed to work with ePUBs. This means fancy bullets in place of some of the ASCII characters—since ePUB readers do not support OpenType at all. Basically, I just had fun with it. The heifer for the mu figure cracks me up.
