This "Leaf" font has been swirling in my head for years - I remember my sister and I making letter formations like these when I was young. Poynor described a process by which typefaces, once “fresh, unexpected, precisely attuned to the moment”, get used increasingly often in less and less appropriate contexts and end up looking "irredeemably passé".
