The Artimas family is the new book design font family developed out of Aramus. These new serif typefaces are readable and graceful — part of my development of a series of book families. Aramus was very popular for a single font release of a text font. This new book font family retains the looseness of the original with radically different font metrics and many shape “corrections”. In fact, Artimas continues a genuine new path for this foundry This new font family for book design continues a turn toward more “traditional” x-heights of around a third of the point size.The Artimas print production font family is six new OpenType Pro fonts with Caps, lowercase, small caps, & figures to go with each of those character sets. There are many ligatures, a few swashes, fractions, numerators, denominators, and ordinals to infinity. This family of fonts is a joy to read and easy to use for text or display.

The typeface LECO 1988 is another font family which belongs to LECO set. It is a display typeface, which is inspired by the title written on the bottle of lečo from 1988. Its typical features are embedded diacritics and significant black look with low contrast. Lower case is united with upper case and has several identical glyphs in both forms. Font contains alternative set of glyphs for letter „E“. Tabular numerals, superiors and inferiors and the full set of (glyphs - symbols) for languages using the Latin alphabet are also included in this font. LECO 1988 font family includes six specific styles: Regular, Blind, Gradient, Outline, Shadow and Stencil style. Those styles extend typographic options by mutual combination or overlapping, whilst every style share the identical metrics and kerning. Font format is Open Type with the support of several open type features. This typeface is suitable for creating logotypes, powerful posters or can be used as a headline display typeface.

A typeface originally inspired by a wall lettering in a small chapel on Crete, Greece. Despite its experimental character it works nicely in a text environment. Crete is perfect for display use where a feminine and elegant touch is desired. The unusual serifs and terminals add to the graceful appearance in the Thin and provide a more robust feel in the Thick. Both weights are metrically interchangeable, so text will not reflow when mixed. The accompanying Italics have several different lettershapes and therefore have, in some cases, their own widths. However, they sit comfortably next to the uprights. The style names refer to the change in serif weight instead of increasing vertical stem widths. Crete features our Basic Extended character set including four sets of numerals, ligatures. fractions, superior/inferior numerals and language support for over 40 languages that use the Latin script. Crete was selected as winner of the Granshan competition 2008 in the display type category.

Cadmium has a comprehensive latin character set and many Opentype features to enhance text, including small capitals, case-sensitive forms, superscript and subscript. Plenty of numeral variants include old-style figures, lining figures and fractions. Default numerals are proportionally spaced. Alternative styles for a handful of key characters provide some useful variations where stylistic sets can be implemented. The fonts are presented as four width-based sub-families: Expanded, Normal, Condensed and Compressed. Each width has a matching range of six weights and italics (obliques). Regular and Bold weights are style-linked, together with their respective oblique forms. Each width differs in its basic construction but all fonts share the same vertical metrics and may be used in combination with each other. Letter spacing is optimised for text sizes but is tolerant of significant tracking changes. Cadmium is good for signage, publicity and packaging, screen credits and titling, general print and publication, as well as web and screen applications.

Cinema Moderne is created to pay homage to he fabulous small town theaters from 1930's and 40's America. This unique font plays off of the Art Moderne and art deco style of the day. Art Moderne some times called Streamline Moderne design architecture emphasized curving forms, long horizontal lines, and sometimes nautical elements. Many of these masterpiece buildings have been lost forever. Some have managed to find new life with a new function. Cinema Moderne was created to preserve a small piece of that history forever. This is the companion sans family to make the Librum serif families work as well as they do. By companion, I do mean stylistically compatible. But mainly, they have the same vertical metrics. So they work very well for run-in heads, inline character styles, and all the rest of the needs in large books with complex formatting. They are designed for use in InDesign, and they work very well in that environment. The fonts use the same OpenType feature files as the rest of the Librum families. The feature files for the italic and bold are more limited—as I have rarely used things like that [over the past 20+ years]. The character shapes are a bit whimsical. The original ancestor of this book design sans was a very playful font I released as Aerle. It’s been calmed down a lot but is still loose and friendly. The all-caps display face Sandwich was inspired by historic, hand lettered sans serif alphabets with slightly sloping terminals, as found in showcard lettering and on billboards. Besides a number of alternate glyphs located in the lowercase area of the font, the typeface features about forty 'ligatures'. These are not ligatures in the traditional sense of the word, but short two- or three-letter combinations — mostly prepositions, conjunctions, articles and so on — in different languages, which are positioned vertically, not horizontally. Since the number of such pre-fabricated ligatures in a font is limited and cannot possibly cover all the desired combinations, a special algorithm programmed into the OpenType font permits the user to compose any two- or three-letter words, provided no accented characters are used. This is why Sandwich includes five versions of each letter. Using the full possibilities offered by the OpenType format, the automatic vertical aligning of glyphs is based on a combination of optional ligatures, style sets, and modified kerning.

Right on the heels of the tremendous popularity wave that made Hollandse Mediaeval the most used Dutch typeface during the Great War years, Sjoerd H. de Roos was asked to design a 15 point type for De Zilverdistel, Jean François van Royen’s publishing company. So between 1914 and 1916, de Roos and van Royen collaborated on the typeface eventually known as Zilvertype, and which both parties viewed as an improved version of Hollandse Mediaeveal. Like Hollandse Mediaeval, Zilvertype was based on the Jenson model, but it is simpler, with more traditional metrics, lighter and more classic in color. This Pro digital version of Zilvertype comes expanded in all directions. It contains a roman, a bold and an italic. Each font contains over 685 glyphs, including small caps, eight different sets of figures, plenty of ligatures, some Dutch ornaments, and extended language support covering most Latin languages. Zilvertype Initials is also there to round out this distinctively Dutch text family and make it ideal for immersive text design.

Drystick is a Sans Serif typographic family of Geo-Grotesque style with 8 pesos plus the italic versions all include small capital letters the symbol of Bitcoin (b #) and other cryptocurrency symbols. It is a geometric typography, minimalist, with neo-grotesque modulations. The typeface has alternative letters and numbers, small caps and advanced OpenType functions. The Italic versions have some of their own characters (&, @, Q, a, g, y), these versions have many optical corrections to balance the deformations created in many curves by the mere inclination of the letters, which in the case of This typography is 9 °. The drawn of the vectors is careful to obtain smooth curves and elegant appearance, the thicker versions have ink traps in the joints of the joints to use in small sizes. The Metric and the Kerning of all the versions I have reviewed individually to obtain maximum readability in any type of text and size.

A classical 20-th century's (1900s to 1980s) typewriter font for both text and large display usage, titles, signage... A new thicker version of Selectric (2016), as if typed using not a thin carbon ribbon but a coarse fabric one. Both are available on a different models of Selectrics. Made after rare enough samples of the same style used during 1980s in the USSR. Based on the actual letter proportions of the original typewriter Selectric (2016) (Cyrillic ball). This time not monospaced as before, but proportional. The single known so far previous typewriter vector typeface with this 'ink blotting' effect (similarly expanded serifs) as in Dodo (2008) is ITC American Typewriter (1974; by Joel Kaden and Tony Stan) and all its hand drawn analogs from 1980s (and perhaps before). Which, in turn, is resembling ATF Bulletin Typewriter's (1925, 1933; by Morris Fuller Benton) overall proportions, geometry, and even had some natural ink expands in its paper sample (but not by design, as I see it).

The regular style of this family was inspired from the typeface used in Nuremberg, Germany, by Johannes Petreius in 1543 to print the famous “De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium,” the well-known mathematical and astronomical essay by Nicolaus Copernicus. Petreius was also using an original italic style, as he did for the “De Sculptura” by Gaurico Pomponio, in 1542. Unfortunately, nobody seems to know who was the punchcutter of this Jenson-style font. Also included is a title file, containing initials (without diacritics) and small caps (with diacritics). In our three styles (Regular & Italic + Titling), font faces, kerning and spacing are as closely as possible identical to the original. This Pro font is covering Western, Eastern and Central European, Baltic and Turkish languages, with standard and long-s ligatures in regular and italic styles. Both have twin-letter ligatures, but the italic style has extra (genuine) ligatures for f and t with vowels.

Brecksville is a condensed grotesk typeface that takes inspiration from early German designs of the mid-19th century. It was designed as part of my current research into grotesk typefaces and different letterforms, as part of my dissertation research, “Perfected Letters: German Grotesk in the Nineteenth Century”, which focuses on the role of German design in typography. The Brecksville font family provides a wide range of weights, ranging from light to bold for both its rounded display style and more rugged sharp style. Both its styles feature the same horizontal proportions and metrics so they can freely be combined with no spacing issues. Brecksville's visually punchy condensed style and sharp edges, allows it to stand out on the screen – at almost any size. Its black composition also brings out the details needed in magazine and tabloid headlines, while maintaining readability throughout. The rounded display version is ideal for posters and other uses where you want something eye catching but not too hard on the eyes.

Sabon was designed by Jan Tschichold and released in 1967. Sabon was created in response to the specific needs of a group of German printers who wanted a typeface that would be identical in form when produced by three different metal-casting technologies. Named after Jacques Sabon, a sixteenth century typefounder whose widow married another typefounder, Konrad Berner, who is credited with issuing the first typefounder's specimen sheet. Several types on the sheet were attributed to Claude Garamond, and one of these served Tschichold as the source for Sabon roman. The italic was based on another face on Berner's sheet, cut by Robert Granjon. Tschichold's skillful adaptation of these old style faces has produced an elegant and workmanlike book face. Skeletal Wish is a line from one of my favourite Opeth songs: Heir Apparent. The lyrics are pretty veiled and bleak, describing the destruction and downfall of something that once was beautiful. I am worried about what is happening with our planet: the Amazon forest is burning down, our oceans are full of plastic and the earth is warming up. I had to think of this when I created Skeletal Wish and I thought the title was perfect. Skeletal Wish is a heavy and scary halloween font. It comes with blobs, splatter, gore and whatever else you may need for your designs. It won’t help save the Amazon rainforest, nor will it stop the flow of marine plastic, but you could use it to create a protest sign. After all, the change begins with you.

This font family based on vintage German book called “Der Raupen wunderbare Verwandlung und sonderbare Blumennahrung.” by Merian, Maria Sibylla and printed in Frankfurt am Mayn in 1683. I manually redesign initials and regular style fonts from this folio. Also, I’ve added some modern symbols. I'm happy to present to you my new font family. Anyone old enough to remember either the radio or television version of “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet” pictures Ozzie Nelson as the easygoing father figure who never seemed to have a real job – he was always hanging around the house. In truth, the handsome young Ozzie was a bandleader in the 1930s and 1940s and ended up marrying his ‘girl singer’, Harriet Hilliard. A piece of sheet music from 1933 for “You Have Taken My Heart” was one of the songs Nelson featured with his Columbia Broadcasting System Orchestra. The title was hand lettered in what can only be described as a slightly eccentric Art Deco Sans serif. Redrawn and cleaned up to reflect more uniform stroke weights, Bandshell JNL is now available in both regular and oblique versions.
