The kerning tables, as well, have been individualized for each of these type varieties. In addition to the adjustment of spacing, there are also adjustments in the design. For the Bodytypes, fine spaces were created which prevented the smear effect on acute angles in small typesizes. For a number of Bodytypes, hairlines and serifs were thickened or the whole typeface was adjusted to meet the optical requirements for setting type in small sizes. As the Latin tag for one’s college or university, Alma Mater seemed to me to be an appropriate title for a font family reminiscent of the lettering commonly used on college sweaters and sports jerseys. Essentially Alma Mater is an extension of my Oscar Bravo font family, but the lively demand for Oscar Bravo Blank persuaded me to go the whole nine yards and and offer inline, outline and shadow variations on the theme. The Arts And Crafts-GS font is loosely inspired by the lettering of Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868 - 1928) of the Glasgow School, from which Jessie receive her training.

Hand Draft is hand crafted to emulate both the early printer’s serif font and/or a hand-drawn version of an early Serif font, using either a felt or round nibbed pen. Carefully designed to recreate a sturdy Sans Serif font with just the right amount of artistic imperfection, in three styles: outlined, hatched, and solid. A little funky and slightly grungy, this hand-drawn font is intentionally not quite perfectly rendered.

Within the pages of “The Essentials of Lettering” by Thomas E. French and Robert Meiklejohn (circa 1912) is an example for creating a sans serif alphabet and numerals. The lesson plate is entitled “Upright Single-Stroke Gothic”; a basic monoline font most useful for architectural and drafting plans because of its easy-to-read properties. This type design is now available as Drafting Class JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

This is an original typeface designed in the Arts And Crafts style. It is similar to Arts And Crafts GS, but with a more organic hand lettering style true to the Arts and Crafts movement. It is loosely inspired by the decorative lettering of Jessie Marion King, and the Scottish style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh of the Glasgow School, from which Jessie received her training.

This is the sans serif version of my Arts and Crafts family of typefaces.

Alpha Midnight, reconstructed from an unnamed source by Dick Pape for Solotype, provided the pattern for this big, bold, unconventional stencil face, sure to grab your readers' attention. Both versions include the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets, as well as localization for Moldovan and Romanian.
