When the line height is set to 100%, the dot pitch is aligned horizontally and vertically, resulting in a beautiful geometric display.

Quartal is a family of stylish sans serif typefaces of condensed proportions. The family consists of 5 regular weights, 4 condensed ones and 13 extended styles (7 upright and 6 italic). At first there was intention to release just 4 condensed weights for headlines and advertising texts, but later 5 styles of wider proportions were added. As the result the area of applications becomes much wider due to possibility to use the font for smaller point sizes. The name "Quartal", which in this case means city quarter, according to author's associations emphasizes the advertising nature of the design most suitable to the urban environment. Character set of the fonts covers alphabets of Western Europe and basic Cyrillic languages. In addition, it includes a range of alternatives, especially in Cyrillic part. I love cheese snacks in all kinds of variations. As a kid I even loved having chessy fingers, but as an adult I prefer to wash my hands (instead of licking and sucking each finger "clean") So, as a loving memory of an all time favourite snack, I made this all caps organic looking sans. Obviously handmade, and cleaned up digitally...just a little bit. Furthermore I have made 5 different versions of each letter and made sure that there is plenty of multilingual support!

The original sketches who formed the base for Remontoire is known as one of the first typefaces drawn by Karl-Erik Forsberg . It was a result of a competition set up by various typographic organizations in the early 1930. The typeface was never completed and sketches are only to be found on paper. Made only as a single font but some the character can later on be found in other of examples of his work; Carolus and Ericus. MRF developed and expanded the family into 5 weights.
