Churchward Maori is the second of a series of eight Maori style typefaces designed by New Zealand type designer Joseph Churchward, and released by BluHead Studio, LLC. Churchward Maori infuses standard Latin glyph forms with traditional Maori decorative elements to create a wildly organic design. BluHead Studio expanded the character set to support standard Latin character sets. BluHead previously released Churchward Ta Tiki.

Mariage, which has been sold under a plethora of different names during the last century, is a blackletter typeface belonging to the Old English category. The term blackletter refers to typefaces that stem out of the historical printing traditions of northern Europe. These letters, called gebrochene Schriften, or "broken type" in German, are normally elaborately bent and distorted. Their forms often print large amounts of ink upon the page, creating text that leaves a heavy, black impression. I've always loved drawing faeries and I love using them in my scrapbooking pages. So after hunting around for a unique decorative fairy font for my crafts I couldn't quite find what I wanted to use, so I decided to create a whimiscal set of fairy drawings and characters that would suffice. I was influenced in the drawing of the fairies by my love of the 3D poser graphics art,several awesome comics, Alphonse Mucha and several Masters of Art. I couldn't really say what influenced me to draw the letter charaters as I did except I just sat down to draw and they appeared on my blank photoshop canvas. An experimental font designed by Viktor Kharyk in Op Art style. UniOpt is based on free brush technique similar to experimental lettering of the early decades of the 20th century; for instance to ‘Graficheskaya Azbuka’ (‘Graphic ABC’) by Peter Miturich and works by Victor Vasareli. The face is legible even at small sizes and quite useful to an original display matter, initials and logos. The rigid double-wide structure allows to create complicated decorative works using vertical composition. Interesting that diacritical marks are also placed inside of character square fields and don’t destroy geometrical order. The decorative abilities of the font are increased by inverted versions of characters that may be used in different combinations including in color. The character set contains expanded Latin, Greek and Cyrillic ranges. UniOpt was awarded for type design excellence at TypeArt’05 Contest in Moscow. Licensed by ParaType in 2006.

Hi. Introducing a new version of my one of the most popular fonts. Now Humblest Pro includes much more characters and has west european multilingual support. This font has a smooth and clean shape without any grain unlike the original one. Almost all of the capital leters has two version, for the begining and for the ending of the word. The final alternative letter will be automatically replaced if you type a big last letter in the word (check out if the "contextual alternates" opentype feature is activated). Decorative swashes are now a part of the font. To use this decorative lines just type an underscore character and the corresponding number from _00 to _39 (make sure that “standard ligatures” opentype feature is activated). Imagine America in the 1930s. A gangster flick with Al Capone, a crime novel featuring Philip Marlowe. Our hero in a fedora sits in a classy bar, orders a double bourbon, lights a cigar and eyes the evening paper. He turns the pages, reading about a bank heist over on Third Avenue, a scandal involving a baseball player, a small ad for a general practitioner and a large spread about a famous law firm. What do the bottle of booze and the majestic facade of the bank have in common? The elegant baseball uniform and trustworthy attorneys? - Copperplate Gothic - When Frederick William Goudy created his legendary typeface in 1901, it went on to literally become the symbol of early 20th century America. Tiny serifs, characteristically broad letterforms, and particularly bold titles decorated calling cards at 6-point size, enormous bronze-cast logos, newspaper headlines, restaurant menus and more. This was the golden age of Copperplate, lasting up until the arrival of die neue Typografie and monospaced grotesques in the 1960s. Then the typeface almost completely disappeared. It made a partial comeback with the advent of the personal computer; digitizations of varying quality appeared, and one version even became a standard font in Adobe programs. This may have played a role in Copperplate later being used in DIY projects and amateur designs, which harmed its reputation. Copperplate New has been created to revive the faded glory of the original design. Formally, the new typeface expands the existing weight and proportional extremes. The slight serifs are reduced even further, making the typeface sans-like at smaller point sizes and improving readability. In contrast, at large point sizes it retains all of its original character. Decorative inline & shadow styles have been added and both have been created in all five proportions, making it easy to adapt the typesetting to the format you need. Despite these changes and innovations, Copperplate New remains true to Goudy’s original design and represents a snazzy way to evoke a golden era in American culture. Matthew Carter has been refining his design for Alisal for so long, he says, that when he was asked to complete the design for the Monotype Library, it was almost as if he were doing a historical revival of his own typeface. The illusion even extended to changes in his work process: although he now does all his preliminary and final drawing on screen, the first trial renderings of Alisal were done as pencil renderings. Alisal is best classified as an Italian old style design. Originally created between the late 15th and mid-16th centuries in northern Italy, the true Italian old styles were some of the first roman types. They tend to be the most calligraphic of serifed faces, with the axis of their curved strokes inclined to the left, as if drawn with a flat-tipped pen or brush. These designs offer sturdy, free-flowing and heavily bracketed serifs, short descenders, and a modest contrast in stroke weight. Alisal has nearly all the classic Italian old style character traits, plus a few quirks of its own. It is calligraphic in nature, with more of a pen-drawn quality than faces like Palatino or Goudy Old Style. It is more rough-hewn than either Goudy's Kennerley or Benton's Cloister, and is generally heavier in weight than most of the other Italian old style designs. One place where Alisal makes a clean break with traditional old style designs is in the serifs. While sturdy and clearly reflecting pen-drawn strokes, Alisal's serifs have no bracketing and appear to be straight strokes crossing the main vertical. Like Caslon or Trajanus, Alisal is a handsome design when viewed as a block of copy. Ascenders are tall and elegant, and serve as a counterpoint to the robust strength of the rest of the design. Alisal is available as a small family of roman and bold with a complementary italic for the basic roman weight, providing all that is needed for the majority of text typography. Alisal is not as well-known as some of Carter's other typefaces, but this lovely and long-incubated design was certainly worth the wait.

Montarsi is a typeface designed by Jeremy Dooley, inspired by Arabic calligraphy and contemporary design trends. The letters are fluid and graceful, inspired by the curves and swirls of Arabic script. Montarsi is a bold, contemporary calligraphic face with broad strokes and high contrast. It has a variety of styles and weights to give you an extensive range of design options. This font family, which includes eight weights, is ideal for producing brief texts for editorial, fashion, branding, magazine, television, window displays, and other media applications. Small caps, old-style figures, and width variations are also included. It's ideal for writing brief sentences because of the increased x-height. Montarsi is a classic spirit reinvented in a modern language, influenced by the delicate curves of letters and the way ink glides across paper. We especially thank Lucas Azevedo and ikern.

Porkshop is a font of retro vintage flavor with a hefty dose of immigrant-influenced naive typography. It's fundamentally inspired by an old-but-still-prominent "Pork Shop" sign in Manhattan. I like to think that this font was made by a signmaker's apprentice who didn't yet have a grasp on the subtleties of elegant letterforms, but put his gusto into perfectly sharp serifs. While pointy little serifs are cool, the real shine of this font comes from the imaginative combination of uppercase and lowercase shapes. This unique mixture in the lowercase reminds me of an indeterminate European accent in the big city. Big and strong and easy to understand. Best rendered in 3-foot tall metal type, Porkshop works well in print and on screens, too. The Bolds and Italics are brand new in 2011.

Kevin Simpson was five years old when the stylized "E" of the Electrolux vacuum cleaner logo caught his eye. This is his earliest recollection of an interest that ultimately became an obsession. Type remains his major preoccupation, and he admits to attempting to work a good typeface design into any project where he can get away with it. Aitos was inspired by a metal sculpture Simpson saw while driving through the French countryside. "The statue was very strong. It was heavily weathered and had obviously been there for some time, yet it also seemed very delicate and light." Aitos, like the statue, is a rugged design. At first glance, it is chunky and bold, perhaps a little jarring. If you look again, however, you'll see it has refined qualities. Aitos commands attention - yet is still affable.

The word that best describes our ideas in the beginning of the project is "simple" - the idea behind it was to strip the letter forms of everything unnecessary, and yet keep the typeface interesting. The typeface is friendly without being too cheezy thanks to its humanistic character, flared ascenders and stems reminding of its calligraphic origin. The proportions are closer to the traditional old style typefaces. Cormac is open and readable typeface coming in 7 weights plus their matching 'true' italics - from Extra Thin to Bold.
