Bodoni expresses the beginning of the Industrial Revolution; its serifs are flat, think and unbracketed, while the stress is always on the mathematically vertical strokes. Bodoni believed in plenty of white space and therefore descenders are long. The M is rather narrow; in the Q the tail at first descends vertically and the R has a curled tail. The italic, like most continental modern faces, has roman serifs. Monotype Bodoni provides a clear-cut effect due to its simplicity. It reproduces well, particularly in sizes over 12pt. This font is slightly darker than Bauer Bodoni. The contrast makes Monotype Bodoni appear more condensed.

Each year whalers from Japan kill more than 1000 whales. Japan says that the killing of whales is a 'cherished Japanese tradition', and that it is taking 'scientific data'. A portion of the whale meat is canned and marketed as 'traditional food'. How sad is that? Pantoufle is French for slipper. Not the flipflop variety (or thongs if you’re from Australia), but the one you wear indoors when it’s cold. I have some too; Spanish ones, made from recycled PET bottles. Here in Holland, we call them ‘Pantoffels’ and you don’t have to be a language expert to see the resemblance between the French and the Dutch word. That is because the French are probably more savvy when it comes to keeping your feet warm and the Dutch just borrowed the word, pronunciation and all! Pantoufle is a font I made with a big fat marker pen. My kids had used it to decorate some gifts for Sinterklaas (if you want to know what Sinterklaas is, look it up). Pantoufle comes with extensive language support and a full set of alternates for the lower case glyphs. Enjoy!

Growing up in Brooklyn, graffiti appeared to me as an explosion of expression and color in a sea of concrete. Inspired, I became a graffiti artist and practiced in both notebooks and subway tunnels. While I moved on to somewhat more traditional art forms in future years, with Graffiti Classic I pay homage to my artistic roots in a calligraphy marker/tag font. Hollenbeck JNL is the Art Deco, all-caps cousin of Jeff Levine's Hallandale JNL typeface. This version utilizes the thick-and-thin stroke weights so popular during the Art Deco era, while retaining the look of hand-lettered copy. Best suited at larger point sizes, this font is a nice alternative to the over-used display faces reminiscent of that time period.

Bold mutant light typography. Futuristic astroluxtype. Digital pixels and hex head wrenches from the toolbox were the influence for this font. Hexxes Light and Hexxes Bold are a minimal font set that includes upper and lowercase letterforms which can be used at various sizes but, we consider it to be a headline/display font, best applied larger than 24 points in size.

Here’s another nostalgic beauty from the Central Type Foundry of St. Louis, originally titled Harpers, designed for the popular newsweekly of the same name. Duplay is a sans-serif designed and developed by darman kadir in this late 2023, influenced by famous Swiss-style typefaces like Helvetica and others. This sans-serif typeface will become an alternative solution to enhance your sports and apparel presence. It has a solid and fast appearance, harder in certain font families, and stronger characteristics that will make your image more prominent.

A 1766 specimen by Isaac Moore, former manager of Joseph Fry’s foundry in Bristol, England, shows many types inspired by John Baskerville’s. But a century later, standardization had foisted inept lining figures and shortened descenders upon these designs. Matthew Carter remedies the tragedy with Big Moore, restoring oldstyle figures, full-length descenders, and historic swashes to this regal serif in two styles.

Originally designed by Les Usherwood for a famous European car company, Elston Pro has been completely redrawn and remastered by Steve Jackaman and Ashley Muir. The new Elston Pro family has been fleshed out with a glyph set that is over 40% larger than the original Elston release, and contains all the high-end features expected in a quality OpenType Pro font.

Askja – A modern, decorative serif typeface with creative ligatures, larger upper serifs and multilingual support. This decorative font features numerous creative non-standard ligatures incl. nested or overlapping caps. Due to its large selection of ligatures, Askja is a very versatile typeface, covering a wide range of project types. Combine this font with sans serif typefaces for a modern aesthetic.

Matita Informal is part of a larger type family developed from 2005-2019 with handwriting in mind. A humanistic informal sans serif in five weights containing swashes, alternative characters, old style, lining, tabular & proportional figures. The family share proportions and weights to ensure all fonts (family members) work together well. Matita Informal is a very friendly typeface suitable for many purposes.

Miller, designed by Matthew Carter, is a “Scotch Roman,” a class of sturdy, general purpose types of Scottish origin, widely used in the US in the last century, but neglected since & overdue for revival. Miller is faithful to the Scotch style though not to any one historical example — and authentic in having both roman & italic small caps, a feature of the originals.

Linem Up JNL is based on one of Alf R. Becker's alphabets for Signs of the Times magazine. With A-Z only and basic punctuation, it is best used in very limited text at larger point sizes. Cast Shadow JNL uses the same wood type as found in Trade Printer JNL and adds to it a cast shadow in right or left versions for a bold and unique look. Both fonts have limited character sets and should be used in point sizes larger than normally chosen to compensate for the visual discrepancy due to the cast shadow's effects.

ADEQUATE is a basic geometric sans serif typeface comprising 6 weights plus a free italic with each. The family has modern, workaday letterforms with a tall x-height for clarity and legibility. Adequate does the job; it doesn't claim to be beautiful and lacks the fashionable mannerisms of many contemporary faces, but there is something timeless, perhaps elegant, about its mathematical simplicity.

Queensberry is a contemporary take on the classic, Egyptian slab-serif style. It is a highly legible text font and an elegant display font at larger sizes. Queensberry is available in a full family of five weights and includes a full range of accented characters.

Index is a sans serif font which gives an impression of both movement and harmony. The soft, round forms of this font give it an almost ornamental feel. The influence of American advertisement and poster typefaces of the turn of the 20th century is apparent. Index can be used as a headline or text font in small or larger point sizes.

A solid script face in two weights and a dotted instructional version. With alternative glyphs based on different writing habits. For teaching, teaching material or just typography. Here's a clean, simple architectural-blueprint style, eminently suitable for subheads and text blocks. Inspired by and named for a gentlewoman who gave up a career as an architect in Bolivia to care for the elderly in the United States. All versions of this font include the Unicode 1250 Central European character set in addition to the standard Unicode 1252 Latin set.

Iowan Old Style was designed for Bitstream in 1990 by noted sign painter John Downer. Iowan Old Style is a hardy contemporary text design modeled after earlier revivals of Jenson and Griffo typefaces but with a larger x-height, tighter letterfit, and reproportioned capitals. Cyrillic letters were designed by Natalia Vasilyeva in 2016. Iowan Old Style Cyrillic was released by Paratype in 2017.

Fram is an uppercase stencil typeface. It comes with a fine-tuned kerning, its extensive character set ensures multiple languages coverage and the design is adapted to different ranges of size through size-specific optical compensation. Fram L is intended for use at large sizes and Fram S with larger gaps guarantees good performance even when the size is reduced.

Introducing Springsteel, a new display sans serif with an unusual construction: curved lines on the outside with only a few straight lines on the inside. The resulting typeface shows a great deal of tension and dynamics. Preferably, it should be used at larger sizes, at smaller sizes only for special effects. It was spaced and kerned by Igino Marini/iKern.

Snell Roundhand Script was designed in 1965 by Matthew Carter. Conception and design were both based on the 18th century round hand scripts. The font has an elegant and festive feel and its capitals can also be used as initials mixed with other alphabets. Snell Roundhand Script is well-suited to middle length texts and headlines.
