Gorodets is a symbol font based on traditional wood-painting style from the town Gorodets on Volga river, Russia. The main motifs of it are decorative flowers, birds, horses and even people, drawn in special way and painted in black, red, blue and green. AZ Plug Italic font is inspired from a combination of original early 1900’s Edward Penfield and Franz Hazenplug poster art. This font is designed for use as a worn and antiqued headlines or subheadlines.

The typefaces Largo Mager (Light) and Largo Halbfett (Medium) were cast for the first time in 1937 by Ludwig & Mayer based on the designs by Hans Wagner. One weight Largo Licht (Outline) was added in 1956. All fonts were only configured with capitals. The digital version of Largo has pointed serifs and not the slightly rounded ones seen in the hot metal versions which gives the typeface a more elegant note. Largo is often used for fine printing jobs as business cards or formal invitations, or in the fashion and cosmetics fields. Hans Wagner was born in Munich in 1894 and died in 1977 in Altenburg where he had worked as a painter, graphic designer and book designer. In addition to the Largo typeface, he developed, among others, the Altenburger Gotisch (1928), the Welt-Antiqua (1931-1934) and the Wolfram (1930).

Derived from a photograph Rian Hughes took in Hong Kong, the Roadkill family of typefaces is a literal interpretation of rough and worn road lettering. The original provided almost all of the key character shapes, with the others being designed to keep the unique hand painted feel intact. Most of the letters have alternate versions provided. This font works equally well at wider letterspacing settings. Roadkill Alternates provides curved versions of the 2 and the S, a G with higher crossbar, and less worn versions of several other characters. Godina was born from the interest in learning and deepening in the basic forms and how they are combined to compose a typographic system. The name, a tribute to the town of La Almunia de Doña Godina, the town for which the author of the typography connects. La Almunia is a crossroads in the typography designer's travels, a link between his family and friends. It combines the scent of a straight and modular typeface with sinuous and curved shapes, which make it a fun and playful typeface.

Inspired by vintage books and the pages within, Appareo is an imperfect, worn serif font that comes in three weights. Butterworth was designed to reflect the dying, degraded and worn, hand painted signs I had seen around the old Butterworth ferry terminal in Penang Malaysia. I plan for Butterworth to be the first of many Malaysia inspired typefaces.

Designed as a display font, Thickset is a solid slab-serif with thin counters that makes it ideal for publications like fashion and editorial magazines. But don’t get me wrong, she’s more than willing to give anything a try. Just as long as you respect her in the morning. In addition to ligatures and fractions, Thickset’s other OpenType features include old style numbers and small caps.

String Theory has been a 10+ year project in the making which originated from a type workshop in Graduate School at Otis College of Art & Design. The workshop was hosted by Dutch designer Hansje Van Halem, and we were tasked to play with string to create letterforms. Thus String Theory was born, and slowly migrated from yarn, to an illustrator file, to what it is today as a type family. Each glyph has it’s own custom string set up, along with each weight. Experimental in nature, edgy, with subliminal angst and grittiness.

Born as a revival of an Egyptian typeface, this hand-drawn typeface is is perfect for headers and even as a body text. It manages to keep the neutrality required for a legible typeface and having slight details that makes it unique. All the details are hand drawn, and it comes in 3 versions: Santa 01 Black, with the original inked look Santa 02 Line, an sketch version of the font, Santa 03 Out, an outline version with subtle different strokes.
