Neon Bugler Squared is a soft, boxy version of Neon Bugler, which is a font based on the third logo created by Harry Warren in early 1975 for his sixth grade class newsletter, The Broadwater Bugler, at Broadwater Academy in Exmore, Virginia, on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. This font design has these principles as its parameters: The letters generally follow what would be natural stroke directions; no sharp corners, all gentle turns; no lines back up over each other, cross each other, or run into each other. All of this civility between the lines produces an unintentional but welcome neon quality about it. This font can have a variety of vibes depending on its context-it has a certain nostalgia to it, yet it also has a slick, clean, futuristic, sci-fi look. It can even be used in a semi-grunge setting. This font was created while looking at the various shapes my handwriting consistently took, especially in the ways that letters would have breaks in them. Over the course of a few months I continually tweaked the letter forms and shapes, and lo and behold, I developed Deco Sans. This family currently only includes a thin weight, as I'm only one person, and very busy with college. I'm continuing work on a regular, bold, and possibly a future italic weight, but these may not be released for many months to come. As this is a very thin font, it should be used at sizes no smaller than around 16 or 18pt as it tends to get lost in whitespace, and looks best at large sizes. As such, this weight should be considered more of a display font than a text font, however, I predict a regular weight to be very readable and much more useable for the everyday.

The market for humanistic sans serif type families is saturated, so what can a new release add, and what does it take to stand out from the crowd? Asterisk Sans Pro (named after my favourite glyph to make) aims to be a highly versatile type family; massively useful due to its pan-European language support and bounty of OpenType features which make it the ideal choice for demanding typography. The look is contemporary; details which give the fonts character at large sizes all but disappear when small, making the middle weights suitable for large chunks of text. The family ranges from a hairline ultra light to a pretty weighty black – a must in a new typeface. DIN has always been the typeface you root for—the one you wanted to use but just couldn’t bring yourself to because it was limited in its range of weights and widths, rendering it less useful than it could be. This family was inspired by a Type Battle over at Typophile: How would you design a font metrically compatible with Helvetica, but better than Arial? Working with preset letter widths was an interesting constraint, both a relief and a limitation at the same time. I have done all the 4 basic weights, and the skewed obliques (done to a slightly less steep 10 degrees angle as opposed to the originals 12) has been optically adjusted. The letters have been designed quite close to the german/swiss grotesk tradition, but by using super-elliptical rounds, rounded dots and slightly curved outer diagonals the end result is a friendly looking font family that still looks... familiar. ALL fonts from CheapProFonts have very extensive language support: They contain some unusual diacritic letters (some of which are contained in the Latin Extended-B Unicode block) supporting: Cornish, Filipino (Tagalog), Guarani, Luxembourgian, Malagasy, Romanian, Ulithian and Welsh. New York to London via Europe The hardworking FS Koopman is a crossbred workhorse which draws inspiration from Swiss and Germanic grotesks, American gothics and early British grotesques, but refuses to fit neatly into any of these categories. Its neither one nor the other, but all of the above. Fontsmith designers Andy Lethbridge and Stuart de Rozario decided to take the characteristics they admired from each category and distill them down into one functional family. Neo meets Neue FS Koopman aims to swim against the tide of Helvetica-ish derivatives by bringing some personality and soul to a genre that all too often ends up feeling bland and sterile. FS Koopman subtly embraces the quirkiness and charm often seen in early twentieth century designs but pairs this with the functionality of later pioneers of the genre. It’s a grotesque isn’t it? The term grotesque surfaced around the early 1800s and refers to the early sans serif designs that many initially believed were strange or ‘grotesque’ due to their lack of elegant serifs. Later variations became known as neo-grotesques and this moniker stuck around even after they gained mass popularity. Some American variants became known as gothics. FS Koopman takes cues from all three categories and blends them into one cohesive design.

The hand-lettered title, cast and crew credits for 1943's "Presenting Lily Mars" (starring Judy Garland and Van Heflin) inspired Pocatello JNL, but the name of this typeface has another Judy Garland connection. In the 1954 remake of "A Star is Born", Judy sings of being born in a trunk in a theater located in Pocatello, Idaho. The name of this Midwest town had such a great sound to it, so it was the perfect choice for the font's name. Available in regular, oblique, bold and bold oblique versions.

Italia is the work of Colin Brignall, a refreshingly different serif typeface. At first glance, Italia might seem comparable to any other square serif typeface, but it has a distinctive pattern all its own. Italia can be used as either a display or text typeface and will give any text a unique look.

Ouch! Bishops Stinger is a unique isometric display typeface, perfect for bold headlines and logotypes. The blunt serifs and terminals that appear on select letters help ground the faced-paced look. When used for a block of text at smaller sizes the style resembles old script writing but with a retro futuristic twist.

Encorpada Classic, designed by Eduilson Coan, brings the best features of the Didone genre, but with a 21st century look and feel. Churchward Lorina is a four weight typeface family originally designed in 1996 by New Zealand type designer Joseph Churchward. A personable geometric sans serif, it possesses some of Churchward's trademark quirkiness but reamins highly legible and readable on screen as well as in print. The family includes Light, Regular, Bold and Black.

Office Squeeze was made with a Japanese brush pen. I kind of like the fact that, despite its roughness, Office Squeeze still maintains a very neat appearance. Office Squeeze can be used for just about anything, but product packaging, logos and posters spring to mind. Comes with a generous square footage of diacritics.

Morning’s spirited, bouncy cursive letterforms feel like a painter’s signature; it’s a familiar style but with something of a twinkle in its eye. The style of Morning looks to imitate wet brush and ink lettering, and dances between seriousness and play. You’ll find a mix of letter connections here, and some ligatures, too.

Midnight Workers is a Modern Sans-serif typeface inspired by freelancers who work late into the night to make a living for their beloved families. The simple and dynamic shape makes it very suitable to be used as headlines, logos, or other design needs that require a formal touch but still seem dynamic.

Alpha is a modern Sans Serif design, very elegant and readable but still also economic. Alpha is offered in regular, bold and italic, with the bold italic still in the works. Alpha is strikingly clear and without any flourishes. Its pretty large x-height guarantees excellent readability, and the design is easily recognized.

If John Baskerville had been born in Seattle in the 1960s his type would have looked like Nirvanium: a wide, extended body with chunky Dr. Martin serifs, an assertive inelegance and a sense of rebelliousness. It�s a display face, too big, too chunky and too rambunctious for text, but always friendly.

Graphically drawn face with a somewhat mono weight thick to thin contrast. Zone was designed for all media and can be used in a wide range of point sizes. Similar to FreeZone but with small flared endings. Family includes common capitals and alternate lowercase characters. Zone requires subjective display kerning and compensation.

Embossanova was initially sketched to be a monospaced typeface but quickly took on a life of its own. It developed serifs and numerous arcs and stroke weights. I wanted it to retain a pre computer/unmathematical feel so there is a slight variation on curved characters and their relationship to the X height.

Bumpo Soft is a chunky and a fun display typeface family with rounded edges. It is the softer version of Bumpo. With an extra heavy but friendly personality, Bumpo Soft works well for posters, food packaging, children’s products and books, or any communications which needs to be friendly, fun, casual or loud.

Harbour is a clash of Latin and Germanic typestyles - two conflicting letterforms, culturally, politically and aesthetically. Latin letterforms have a geometric base, blackletter types are calligraphic. Harbour takes calligraphic forms that derive from writing with quills, but is a typeface that is clearly drawn‚ rather than written‚ to produce graphic, dynamic letterforms.

Discharge is a bold, heavy, distressed and destroyed sans serif typeface. It was started alongside Universally Corrupt and Insurgent, but it took a couple extra years to finish. It was expanded to include extended Latin, extended Cyrillic and Greek alphabets, so it will work with most languages in Europe and the Americas.
