Wicked, cheeky and geeky! That's what went through my mind when updating this font. Originally made around year 2000, and now it comes in a restored and updated version. I cleaned up all curves and lines, added multilingual support and kerning. Based upon classic typefaces like Bodoni and Baskerville, but far more unpredictable and wild.

Eckhardt Freehand JNL is the fourth font based on the lettering of sign painters and show card writers. Jeff Levine has chosen to name this “mini series” of fonts in honor of his friend Albert Eckhardt, Jr., a talented sign man who ran Allied Signs [in Miami, Florida] from 1959 until his passing in 2005.

Bufon is a font that holds many ligatures (815); a characteristic that intervenes in the rhythm of words. For this aim, a study of the combination of signs in the text was made. The interest was to detect the most frequent duets and trios of letters. Three languages were studied; English, French and Spanish.

Stencil Punch JNL is modeled from lettering examples made by a Diagraph stencil cutting machine. Diagraph was the first company to make the stencil punch machines used in industry and by the military. An ad in the May 27, 1939 issue of "Motion Picture Herald" for the film "Young Mr. Lincoln" featured the film's title hand lettered in a squared, bold pen lettering with rounded terminals along with an incised 'engraving' line. "Punk is not dead, grunge is not dread, skateboarding and grafitti is forever" - shouted by some (possibly drunk!) person one late night. I had these "wise" words in the back of my mind, while making this font. I wanted to capture the wildness of both punk/grunge/skateboarding and grafitti without overdoing any of them!

Scribbler, like Double Quick (another one of my fonts), is a handwritten typeface, designed to look like a quick grocery list, a hasty 'I Love You' note penned down on a Post-it or a home improvement to-do list. Scribbler is a little messier than Double Quick, but this may be just your style!
