In ITC Arecibo, Argentinean type designer Luis Siquot has created a typeface of subtle typographic turns. At first glance, ITC Arecibo has a sturdy 19th century wood type flavor, yet the delicate hairline shadow is decidedly Art Deco. Its condensed proportions and character shapes have been carefully modeled to ensure legibility. Siquot added uniqueness and versatility to the face by drawing two sets of small caps: one in which the central horizontal strokes share the same plane (ITC Arecibo) as those in the full-size letters, and another where the horizontal strokes are proportional with the small caps(ITC Arecibo Too). Trapper is so named because it exploits a typographic design mechanism known as ink traps purely for graphic effect. Ink traps are a device used by type designers to create significantly higher legibility under adverse printing conditions, especially when the intended use of the type is to be printed at small sizes on mediocre substrate. For Trapper the ink trap is overused for exaggerated visual effect. This gives the Round version a playful twisted balloons look while the Sharp has a stern mechanical default effect. Trapper is a versatile font family of 8 fonts -- Sharp and Round variations in regular and bold weights each with an accompanying oblique.

Magendfret is a typeface that was designed very mechanically. However, it is also the optimal typeface for expressing soft warmth. Magendfret was designed by constructing a "line." That is: it is based on the concept "it is the combination of a straight line and a curve with a character." I made the character from the act of using and constructing a vector graphics editor, a mouse, and a keyboard. That, I thought when constructing it, should make neither a roman type nor italic type into a novel form, and a very general form. Once those characters were bit-map-ized, they traced again mechanically by the vector graphics editor. It became a soft impression by this work. The very mechanical act of changing the thickness of a line uniformly constitutes the family. The thickness of seven patterns was created first and, finally it results in four patterns. Respectively, styles called Light, Regular, Medium, and Bold are attached as usual. The name Magendfret is meaningless. It is an anagram of a certain words selected very arbitrarily.

British designer Bob Newman's Horatio family is a delightful look back into the modernists experiments of the 1920s. This geometric sans serif design was created in 1971, and was originally released by Letraset. We are please to offer the family in digital form, in light, medium, and bold weights. Many designers during the 1920s were interested in reforming the alphabet, and wanted to reconcile letterforms with the machine and manufacturing technology of the age. Herbert Bayer at the Bauhaus was one of many designers who developed a universal alphabet," creating letters using only the simplest of geometric forms. Similar experiments in 1920s-style revivals were also created during the 1970s, most notably Herb Lubalin's ITC Avant Garde Gothic."

Mind Boggle was made during the renovation of our fixer upper farm house. We had to demolish an old annexe (because it was unsafe) and it caused us some stress, as one wrong movement of the excavator would mean at least a partial collapse of our home… Luckily the driver was a pro and it was mind boggling to see what he could do with a huge machine like that. Candida roman was designed by Jakob Erbar and appeared after his death with the typeface foundry Ludwig & Mayer in Frankfurt am Main in 1936. Due to the original designer’s death, the italic was designed by Walter Höhnisch shortly thereafter. In 1945 the roman was reworked, the breadth of the figures was reduced and the strokes made heavier. The bold weight followed in 1951. Later the typeface was expanded with further weights, which have for the most part fallen out of use. Three weights can still be found in catalogues, available as early as 1937 for the Linotype machine. Candida is a modest text font which retains its legibility even in smaller point sizes.

“Kamenica” - named after a beautiful small mountain river in Serbia - is a font family containing 3 weights: Light, Regular and Bold. The Kamenica river is only a few meters wide. Mostly shallow and cold, clear and green, it was the direct inspiration source for the creation of this condensed typeface. As our other typefaces, “Kamenica” also combines traditional shapes with modern forms, tall x-height and a collection of more than 300 glyphs. Comparing the river with the font, we could say that letters are the fishes that lives in the Kamenica river and that the font weights are the seasons in which this river shows most of its own character.

Minimal, modular, modern—at first glance, Materia shows a contemporary flair, combining pure, strong geometrical form with a subtle, distinct appearance. Actually, the design was inspired by lettering from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century that still can be found in the East of France. While its formal origins date back as far as this, revived e. g. by the constructivists into the nineteen twenties and later on by Dutch information designer Wim Crouwel in the nineteen-sixties, the visual language of Materia still speaks of the »future«. Following a minimalistic concept the font is formally built on a grid. Wherever optical curves are needed for a smoother, more comfortable shape of letters than a simple rectangular block, diagonals cut off the egdes – like a diamond is cut to achieve more beauty. Thus headlines and texts set in Materia are given a certain »egdy« feeling, whereas their tonality is still kept well-balanced, keeping concentation all on information in a nonconfomist way. Materia comes in eight styles, from elegant Thin to attention-forcing Ultra. Even a regular Italic is available, following the classic type-set-principle. Two of the styles are explicitly designed for display use, Shadow and Code. Both are ready for combinations with Bold or each other respectively, the layering of Shadow and Code e. g. allows astonishing effects or highlighting within the letters.
