This extra stout slab serif derives its inspiration from two Vincent Pacella designs: Pacella Barrel and Pacella Colossus. Essentially it’s an all-caps font, but there are biform variants of a, e, m, n and u, so you can mix things up to create more interesting headlines. A companion piece to Mulgrave, this font is the intermediary design between the chunky Victorian style that Mulgrave reproduces and the Ministry of Transport sans introduced in 1933 and digitised as Ministry. Although they date from between 1910 and 1933, these signs show the beginnings of several features Ministry later incorporated, notably the thinner strokes and the more modern forms of the G, M, R and S. The letter widths are approaching a monospace - the L, F and E are relatively wide compared to the W and M, a feature that may have something to do to the casting process. These idiosyncracies were all ironed out when the first version of the MOT alphabet was produced. The Device digitization, as with Mulgrave, stays true to the worn and repainted original metal source material and preserves the unusual widths.

This font is based on the handwriting of author Franz Kafka and captures his expressive handwriting style, using the manuscript of The Trial and his diaries as the primary reference. The font presents the elegance and nervousness with which he wrote his letters and book manuscripts. KgStuttgart1930 -- Kunstgewerbeschule Stuttgart 1930 -- is based on a printed sample of a font designed in 1930 at the Stuttgart School of Applied Arts. Found in the book ABZ, more alphabets and other signs by J. Rothenstein and M. Goodings. I recreated the grid and kept some awkward letters of this bauhaus-era inspired design. I created the missing glyphs and added alternate versions of already existing ones.

Johanna Whimsy is a fun light-hearted script font that is named after a friend of the designer who is a well known folk artist. The design was inspired by a hand lettered sample from the 1960s and has an engaging mid-century feminine style. Erratic JNL earns its name from the varying widths and shapes of the hand lettering found on some old Art-Deco era sheet music. Following this unusual pattern throughout the complete typeface, the user finds a mix of traditional Deco type design and an overly wide M, N, W and 8.

64-SRC is a condensed monospace font inspired by 1960s IBM Selectric type seen on HAL’s telemetric displays in 2001: A Space Odyssey. It is characterized by unique "double-space" alternates for the widest characters such as “w” and “m”. These alternates maximize legibility, improve the rhythm of readability and keep typographic color even. As a result 64-SRC is as well suited for extensive copy as it is display type.
