Inspired by food labels, signs and coats of arms, PR-Scrolls is a collection of images which can be used for framing text in contexts where antiquity, craftsmanship, or traditional quality are conveyed. There are several sets of glyphs which work together to make a variety of shapes, or banners of custom length. Most of the glyphs are presented in a range of three or more widths. Scrolls 3 has a greater unity of detail, and a greater variety of form than our earlier designs.

In the days before vinyl sign lettering overran the landscape, talented neighborhood sign painters and show card writers made attractive displays for local merchants. Toucan Tango JNL is Jeff Levine's interpretation of a sign painter's sans serif letter with a distinctive inline.

The inspiration source for Chaoxiang Monogram is another hand-drawn treasure from a vintage embroidery publication which plays on the anglo-version of chinese letters with stabbing strokes and the charm of the orient. While the original intent of this monogram style is uncertain, the possibilities of its use are up to your imagination. This is one of many monogram designs from the early 1900’s which fall into a two letter format bound within a framing element. The inspiration source for Zulu Monogram is a vintage publication called “Bibliotheque D.M.C: Alphabets et Monogrammes 2nd Series”. This wonderful design is an alternative to the diamond shape monogram that dominated monogram at the time. A Zulu shield-like form, this monogram style is now digitally recreated and revived for modern use in Zulu Monogram, with two letter monograms and a selection of additional frame styles for a final classy touch! Edda Pro is another art nouveau revival by German type designer Ralph M. Unger. Edda Pro is based on Edda, designed in 1900 by Heinrich Heinz Heune for Schelter & Giesecke, Leipzig, Germany. Unger redesigned the beautiful forms, completed and expanded this outline caps-only typeface for the profonts library. Also, he added a nice collection of very useful frames and ornaments in EPS format supplied with the OTF version of Edda Pro.Edda Pro can be used for anything in advertising, signmaking, posters, restaurants, hairdressing, paint, wallpaper and so on.

Alejandro Lo Celso’s tribute to Bodoni takes the form of a humorous fat face for display use, in both solid and engraved forms. Four years after Bodoni’s death, Margherita, Giambattista’s widow, published the two volumes of the famous Manuale Tipografico, a significant catalogue even today. Margarita’s curves are extremely sensual, it should be set only at huge sizes.
