The 1913 sheet music for "There's A Girl in the Heart of Maryland (with a Heart That Belongs to Me)" may have had no shortage of words in the title - fifteen to be exact, but it also offered some nice hand lettering in the Art Nouveau style. VolumeFour is a heavy, geometric sans-serif display face inspired by the custom lettering which adorns Black Sabbath's groundbreaking "Vol 4." ITC Serengeti is a font of narrow, high reaching capital letters designed by Bob Alonso in 1996. In the form of small caps, the letters combine to make words. This font is at the same time modern and nostalgic, with letters like N and M being reminiscent of those on posters in the 1920s. One can also interpret this small caps alphabet as one influenced by the Jugendstil. ITC Serengeti should be used only for headlines and display in point sizes of 18 or larger.

The Carlsbad font family is a bringing together of Regina Cursiv and Hansa Cursiv which both had been released by H. Berthold Messinglinienfabrik und Schriftgiesserei around 1895. Cowboya is a typography with concave Tuscan serif very contrasted and modernist inspiration with letters in small caps, includes 4 versions of the font that can be used by superimposed layers which results in multicolored typographic titles. For the design of this typeface I was inspired by the credit titles used in the black film directed by Frizt Lang in 1950 called "The House of the River", to the drawing of the original forms of the letters i added decorative elements to give the fonts a festive character, traditionally this type of decorative fonts that emerged in Italy in the nineteenth century were used in large headlines and posters that were closely related to circus shows, carnival or environments of the Far West American. I have also rounded the sharper joints of the antlers and counterforms to create a contrast with the sharp Tuscan serifs which brings a modern background of retro inspiration and soft shapes.

Another cartoony handwriting font, Hinny (named for the offspring of a donkey and a horse, but less common than a mule) is unassuming and narrow, perfect for fitting a lot of words in a small space. Please note that this font has a limited character set.

For best results, use of OpenType features is strongly recommend. This font is inspired by Johannes Janssonius, well know as Jan Janszoon o Jan Janssonius (Arnhem, 1588 – Amsterdam, 1664), was a Dutch cartographer, publisher and engraver. Married to Hondius's daughter. He was the author of many masterpieces of cartography of the 1700s like Willem Blaeu and Hondius, famous maps with heavy use of decorations in the letterig to fill the spaces of oceans, seas, lakes and scrolls. Now you can easily recreate not just ancient maps without effort, but you can use this font creatively, to make unique, modern logos, product names, fresh packaging, hip fashion outfits, refined labels, signs, coordinated images ... Hundreds of alternatives to choose from and maybe to combine with other fonts in an original way. One extra font with 27 castles in Janszoon style are also usefull for map, of course, but also for many different creative artworks. Warning: Jannson Map having oversized swashes compared to the normal standards cannot be used with Windows Word because Word does not give the possibility to manage the line spacing professionally. Jannson Map works great with applications like Illustrator, In Design, quark Xpress, mac Text etc ...

S.A.M (Super Active Matrix) combines the big, bright and bold with the microscopic and mathematically precise. Inspired by old science fiction films and new technologies, S.A.M merges the rigid constraints of display mechanics with the free-flowing curves of neon signs. This font is great for a classic sci-fi look – perfect for headlines/logotype. S.A.M also works for blocks of text, unlike some other display fonts. The matrix exists to bring order to an idea – it tames the free-flowing curves of neon signage into a repeatable structure while maintaining a retro aesthetic. Sticky Shoes was inspired by a sign at a local flea market. The artist behind the sign obviously didn’t care much about painting the letters “in the right way” - leaving a slobby and uneven impression. And what is wrong with that? Nothing, if you ask me. I tried my best to capture the charm and innocence behind that sign in Sticky Shoes. I even made the paint version go outside the outline in the Regular version! I added 6 different versions of each letter, and they automatically changes as you type. That goes for all 4 versions, and they even mix very nicely!

Segoe™ Chess font is part of the Segoe family of fonts from Microsoft. The Segoe Chess font contains the chess figurines and symbols for creating chess diagrams. Segoe Chess was designed by Jim Ford and is a symbol-encoded font.

I've always been in love with fat didones. That’s the reason of Posh. In search of something unique, I started this family back in 2013 with the aim of creating the fattest yet readable bodonian typeface in the market: It was a challenge, because roman fonts need generous counters (or what some call white spaces) and taking them to the extreme of inexistence attempted against the construction of many glyphs. Ears, dots, terminals and serifs always need some extra space so I had to find the exact point of boldness to make characters which have those attributes work well in the middle of those which haven't. (1) After a while, I felt I was again ‘in my element’: Big contrasted letters, sexy and elegant curves, and that Lubalinesque feeling that characterise my fonts. (2) Words written with Posh are a explosion of elegance and sensuality due to the fact that its didone attributes were exaggerated. Since it’s full of alternate glyphs, one can change and choose them until a nice block of ‘‘black’’ is achieved. (3) To accompany the regular style, I designed Posh Inline, a font with the same quantity of glyphs than the regular one; an all caps style called Posh Capitals, and also a really playful Italic version. I hope you find this one delicious like I do! This font is dedicated to all who understand letters are not just meant to be read, but also to be appreciated in group and individually. Enjoy it. NOTES (1) In example, it can be easy to design a fat letter ‘n’ with almost no counter, but really tough to make a satisfactory letter ‘s’ with serifs to match that ‘n’. (2) Also, it wasn't my first attempt in fat didones. Take a look at my font Reina, made in 2012. (3) Posters above show many words with ball terminals that seem to dance above and below the words in order to fill those “undesired” blank spaces.

The name “Fiction Crusader” was generated by a random word generator. It may sound odd, but I like the feel of it. Use your imagination: what exactly is a fiction crusader? Each letter has 6 slightly different versions, and they automatically cycle as you type. A great way to make your text look more lively and vibrant! I guess that this is an all-purpose font, because I can’t think of a project that couldn’t use a font like this!

Faithfully reproduced from my father’s design drawings made at The Municipal School of Arts and Crafts, Wolverhampton in 1939. Strong nostalgic influences of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. What caught my eye was the consistency with which each particular character was formed: every ‘R’ like every other, every ‘S’ the same. Tight letter spacing and loose word spacing characterised his titling but he didn’t trust himself to print without first ruling guidelines, a hint of which remain in this font.

Franko Luin, Marco Polo's designer, on this typeface: Marco Polo is a 'massacrated' oldstyle typeface that can be used in the same way as, e.g., Caslon Antique. I designed it - if the word design is appropriate in this case - to give the users an alternative so that they are not always directed to the same choice. For the same reason I made Marco Polo rounder. The name comes from the famous Venetian globetrotter, who has nothing at all to do with the typeface, since printing and punchcutting were still an invention of the future.

Monem is the word for the smallest significance-carrying part of a language. I thought that was a good name for a clean, straightforward Sans typeface. The name Angryhog came out of nowhere out of free association. "When you're working on a typeface on the Mac it demands a name from you which I find a bit confrontational" says Donaldson. Raw herring is the Dutch sashimi. Every year at the beginning of the summer a new batch of freshly caught herring arrives at Holland’s quays. Fishing boats actually race each other to be the first boat bringing it home. The fresh herring is called ‘Hollandsche Nieuwe’ (Holland’s new). This typeface, designed by Donald Roos, is based on the typography of Dutch fish shops and stalls. Inspired by lettering from the 30’s and 40’s, infused with some ‘techno’ flavour, Hollandsche Nieuwe is the brand new fresh fishy type flavor on your computer! Kidcut is a typeface created by cutting glyphs out of paper with scissors. The shapes are irregular, giving the impression of being cut out by a child. The typeface contains upper and lower case letters of the Latin alphabet (basic, Eastern, Western and South Western Europe, Vientamese and Pinyin) and three contextual alternates from each glyph, which is very important when there are three identical letters in one word - then we have the impression of handmade, not repetitive.

Toward the end of the 1920s, Art Deco influences were starting to creep into modern design. The hand lettered title on the cover of the1928 sheet music for “Fascinatin’ Vamp” not only embraced the new Deco movement, but sent it on a wild typographic ride. Letters of mixed thicknesses and stylings made up the two word title, and this unusual group of letter shapes became the inspiration for Free Form Deco JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

D Sert—based on the Pirata typeface—is inspired by 70s Chilean constructivist design and the political propaganda posters artwork of La Unidad Popular (Chilean political coalition). D Sert is the result of the combination of the Chilean graphic art revival with new trends, such as the handmade movement and super font families. The super family comprises 47 weights and comes with two versions: D Sert and D Sert Alt, plus extras. Diagonal strokes are significantly different between the two versions: diagonals of the Alt version are much more logical than the diagonals of the normal version. Another difference is the bowls of the capitals: in the D Sert version, they slightly project above the cap height, making it a more daring version and bringing it closer to calligraphy; contrarily, in the Alt version, bowls do not project above the cap height, which makes it a more tidy font. This way, the combination of the two versions and extras provides the user with the freedom to create any kind of artwork.
