PM Showman is based on vintage hand-painted sign writing from the 1900s through the 1960s. Seen on everything from office signs to posters, it was a staple of business communication and entertainment advertising in the early 20th century. We meticulously hand-drew each font, modeling the spacing and quirkiness of the original letterforms to give PM Showman an authentic hand-painted look.

Stefan Claudius developed this font while he was sitting in a small chalet in Denmark with a hot wood-oven and nothing but snow outside. Probably the amount of white led him to make it so thin and to have as much space between the lines as possible. If you have that in mind, it looks best in large sizes.

Bizmo font family is meant for display, it's characteristic is in it's wide letterform which is suitable for use in large or long spaces. Bizmo consist of 9 weight with each matching obliques. Balthasar is a very distinctive, stencil-type display font. Its letterforms originally appeared on a lettered book jacket by Michael Harvey. Its highly condensed letterforms being very economic in the use of space. The augmented, Balthasar Plus version has many alternative characters and ligatures, together with Opentype features for their automatic substitution where the application in which they are used permits.

This engaging antique text face is based on Paragon Light, from the 1905 specimen book from Barnhart Brothers & Spindler. A 1940s-era book from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers entitled "Topographic Drafting" features a page for "lettering construction and spacing" in the process of map making. The letters and numbers were formed on grids using that mechanical drafting process for uniformity in stroke width. This was the basis for Topographic Sans JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Meila Arabic is sibling of Meila with the addition of Arabic glyphs, for Arabic, Urdu, and Farsi. Still carrying a childish character with a cheerful font, visually featuring bold and cute characters. Meila has smooth lines on each side, especially on the outside, almost no sharp corners. On the inside there is only one line that functions as a counter space.

The designers of wood type in the 1880s did not lack for inspiration or imagination. From extremely ornate designs to ultra compressed or condensed alphabets, there was no shortage of variety. Saddle Tramp JNL is one such compressed font. Its wide, bold design coupled with its squat appearance allows for multiple words in a headline without overuse of page space.

Circle Sans is one of the most unique wood type font designs we"™ve found. It was made in Europe and our cut measures just 3 picas. Letters are a basic, rounded gothic with a medium amount of stroke contrast. This font is easy to read and packs a special punch dropped out from the negative space of a circle.

Introducing Springsteel, a new display sans serif with an unusual construction: curved lines on the outside with only a few straight lines on the inside. The resulting typeface shows a great deal of tension and dynamics. Preferably, it should be used at larger sizes, at smaller sizes only for special effects. It was spaced and kerned by Igino Marini/iKern.

Telecom is a new, experimental typeface designed by Jan Estrada-Osmycki. Inspired by space-age, science-fiction and the work of Wim Crouwel. It's design combines mechanical, modular approach to type and elegance of letterforms. It's super-high contrast, thin hairlines and close attention to detail makes it a font to be set in greater sizes. Comes in four weights.

Metropolis Bold was commissioned by Publish magazine for their 1990 redesign. Although other digital versions exist, I think this was the first one and is characterized by extremely pointy serifs. It is well to remember in laying out copy for Metropolis to allow plenty of white space in the layout. Metropolis is based on the 1932 Stempel cut as designed by W. Schwerdtner.

The Lined font started out with some scribbles - playing with lines and making shapes fold, underlap and overlap, eventually evolving into letters. This is a display/ornamental font and it was made in 2009, it's meant for decorative use and not in large bodies of text. For example it does well used as a headline font. It is proportionally spaced and uppercase only.
