Kuschelfraktur is a unique, eye-catching take on the theme of blackletter that replaces the broad nib with a brush pen and achieves stroke modulation through stencil-like gaps. It combines the texture and dignity of blackletter with the human warmth of informal handwriting. Kuschelfraktur offers five separate sets of capital letters and several additional customization option via stylistic alternates. The degree of ornamentation in the blackletter capitals can be increased (SS02) or decreased (SS07), while SS04 and SS05 offer two simpler approaches to capital letters that bridge from blackletter to Roman letters (Antiqua). The default single-storey �a� can be replaced with a two-storey version in SS01, and SS08 offers a single-storey capital �A� for the simple capitals. Finally, SS03 restores some of the more unique letter shapes of the Fraktur style of blackletter. The old-style figures can be replaced with lining and/or tabular figures. All these stylistic sets are accessible via OpenType from the main font, Kuschelfraktur, whereas the spin-off fonts (Traditional, Verziert, Text, Schlicht, Antiqua) offer convenient access to those sets even in environments without OpenType support. Sierra is an antiqua with a high x-height and generous, open counters. Many curves of the letters are almost right angles, which was particularly suited to the Digiset machines from Dr. Ing. Rudolf Hell, Kiel. The forms of Sierra with their flowing stroke contrast and half serifs have a calligraphic touch, which is especially highlighted in the italic weights. This is a graceful text type and its bold weights look almost like woodcuts. Sierra is an excellent choice for both texts and headlines.

SoftMaker’s Abbott Old Style is a revival of Joseph W. Phinney’s typeface of the same name, a modified serif typeface. It is charmingly antique and exotic.

An antique hand-cut brass stencil of the phrase "No Hunting on These Premmises" (with the word "premises" misspelled) was the model for Brassmark Stencil JNL.

PT Orden™ was designed by Oleg Karpinsky in 2000-2001 and licensed by ParaType. Orden is a genuine Cyrillic typeface, it contains antique Cyrillic letter forms such as d, z, N with a diagonal stroke, symmetrical Y ,× and Ù, rare in modern typography. Another specialties: one alphabet and old style figures. Lower case consists of upper case letters except for some alternative variants of the capitals. For some time, Eric de Berranger had wanted to create a distressed typeface design - one that gave the appearance of antique printing and showed signs of wear, yet was still highly readable. He was busy designing a new face called Maxime, when an idea struck: I realized that I could use these lettershapes as the basis for my antique typeface," he says. The two faces ended up being designed in tandem. While ITC Oldbook clearly captures the flavor of aged, uneven and imperfect printing, it also meets de Berranger's goal of being exceptionally readable in text sizes. Beginning with well-drawn characters was the key, and these were carefully modeled into the distressed forms. "The process was more difficult than I originally thought," says de Berranger. "The antique letters had to be tested and modified several times to work correctly." ITC Oldbook elegantly simulates antique printing in both text and display sizes. This cheerful charmer is based on Glass-Antiqua, designed by Franz Paul Glass for the Genzsch & Heyse foundry of Hamburg in 1912. Great for engaging headlines with a playful twist. Both versions feature the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turskish 1254 character sets, with localization for Lithuanian, Moldovan and Romanian.

Handmade Caslon JNL is a somewhat imperfect version of one of the many Caslon faces in use during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Based on vintage source material, Handmade Caslon JNL is the right typeface for projects reflecting antiquity, a hand-made look or where slightly imperfect lettering adds a bit of the "real world" to the message.

Vincente is a contemporary but Didone-look serif with condensed proportion. Inspired by vintage iron works and antique botanical pictorial book. Very simple and orthodox letter forms with some charming accent such as can be seen in "y". Sophisticated curves but they have human warmth as if they are hand-crafted. Consists of six weights and supporting almost all latin languages.

AZ Harper's July font is inspired from original early 1900's Edward Penfield's poster art. This font is designed for use as a worn and antiqued headline.

The antique wood type Gothic Tuscan [a spurred design with rounded terminals] was the basis for Roundwood JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Arsis is a condesed modern headline face that was originally produced and cast in hot metal by the Dutch type foundry Lettergieterij Amsterdam. A thin Roman typeface with slab serifs shown in various editions of the American Type Founders’ Specimen Book as either Lining Antique or Lining Central Antique was the model for Specimen Book JNL which is available in both regular and oblique versions. This is the 1700th design released by Jeff Levine Fonts since its inception in January, 2006 and was named Specimen Book JNL to celebrate the era when metal type and letterpress were the modern technology of their time.

After designing two script fonts (lp Pinselschrift, lp Bambus), Peter Langpeter has now drawn an elegant Antiqua font, namely lp Saturnia, derived and conceived from his work in developing headlines and logos. The aim was to create a modern interpretation of the classical Roman letters (Capitalis Monumentalis or Trajan by Carol Twombly), avoiding the archaic look of these letter forms. Also, the difficulty of spacing characters with excessive forms, such as the long tails of 'K' and 'R', are avoided. Additionally, lp Saturnia also comes with lower case characters. The result is a contemporary and elegant typeface that is more suitable for practical use, without renouncing the classical Roman character.

Conestoga was a challenge that I took on which was to take a logo from an old antique vegetable crate label and create a complete font based on its design. The original logo was curved on a path and was caps only. The new letters were drawn straight and a matching lowercase was created to turn this old custom logo into a working font.

Cattle Call JNL is reminiscent of Old West posters and broadsides. The design is based on an extra condensed antique wood type and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Antique brass stencils hand-cut for shipping items during the early part of the 20th Century were for sale in an online auction; and are the basis for Carton Stencil JNL.

Grande Parade JNL is a decorative version of Winnetka JNL, which was based on antique wood type. The look and feel of this design combines old-time typography and festive charm.

For Vega antikva, too, 16th and 17th century typefaces stood models. I made a free interpretation of them, with a nice result, if I am allowed to express myself. Vega antikva makes a beautiful impression in books, but even as a web typeface it behaves well. The name Vega can be traced down to a constellation, a mathematician, a writer, a movie character, or a research ship, as you like. Now there is a typeface with that name, too. Vega antikva was released in 1994.
