Macho Moustache is closely related to Macho Modular , the parent type with which it shares modular widths and most letterforms. Much like other Didone typefaces, Elongated Roman’s strong contrast between thick and thin strokes and hairline serif design strengthen its elegance as a “modern face.” Unlike other Didone typefaces in the Red Rooster Collection, Elongated Roman was designed with display size in mind thanks to its strong variance in stroke weight.

Umberland Slab is an attractive family available in 3 different weights with italics. There’s a particular emphasis on simple geometric shapes and the way they interact with tall vertical strokes. Smooth curves and sharp angles blend together in a pleasing symmetry. Stroke widths are given variable degrees of contrast but serifs are consistent and heavy handed. Spacing is on the tight side with some lowercase pairs quite snug against each other. Umberland Slab would work well in small blocks of text, corporate logos, menus, or signage. This family is equipped with European accents/diacritics for international support, fractions, alternates, and ligatures.

The hand lettered word ‘puzzles’ from the box cover of a 1940s set of metal “connected” puzzle pieces manufactured by the A.C. Gilbert Company was the initial typographic model, but some additions and changes were made. Instead of the right side of the ‘P’ being a semi-circle, it was changed to a more conservative ‘’squared’ look. After drawing out all of the necessary glyphs, the overall height of the characters was extended to make the letters and numbers appear taller and narrower. The end result is Narrow Deco JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Linotype Killer is part of the Take Type Library, selected from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests from 1994 and 1997. Designed by German artist Andre Nossek, the font seems to describe the Technosound of the 1990s with its electronically produced sights and sounds. It represents repetition, mass production and conformity. The alphabet consists exclusively of capital letters, all based on a rectangular form, all of the same height, and, with the exception of the I’, all of the same width. The cool and distant Linotype Killer is best suited to short headlines.

Karol was designed in 2011 as a project in the MA in Advanced Typography from EINA/UAB, in Barcelona. It was born as text typeface inspired by the work of East European type designers. Two years later, Karol is ready for public release, in a collection of eight styles (four weights and matching italics) with high readability, strength and character. A few days before its publication, we received the news that Karol had been awarded the Certificate of Typographic Excellence (Judges’ Choice) of the Type Directors Club. A modern neo-grotesque type family of 16 styles. BR Cobane is a fine balance of functionality and contemporary characteristics. Precisely drawn with a modern aesthetic in mind, Cobane has familiar qualities associated with the classic grotesques, but combines them with a stronger modern geometric flavour. BR Cobane is available in 16 finely crafted styles, with eight weights ranging from Thin to Black. The fonts also provide advanced typographic support with OpenType features such as case sensitive forms, icons, stylistic alternates, slashed zeros, and multiple figure sets.
