An offbeat alternate caps typestyle inspired by the cover of a vintage LP titled, Organ Moods by Jerry Thomas. A playful and childish font from a sexy cheesecake album! Go figure. Switching on Contextual Alternates enables automatic alternations between caps and alt caps like AlTeRnAtIoNs to create a more randomized look.

Seasonal Drift is a brush font that I made using one of my father in law's Chinese brushes and ink. For some reason this font reminded me of the ocean, like waves and currents and driftwood. Seasonal Drift comes with a healthy dose of language support and some cool discretionary ligatures.

This is a decorative font containing the letters A-Z, numbers 0-9, and enough punctuation to make invitations, playbills, posters, and the like. It is meant to have the feel of the theatre district early last century. "Roaring 20s" comes in three styles: regular/engraved, hollow/white, and black. Enjoy!

Lindisfarne Nova is an uncial-like design based on the script found in the Lindisfarne Gospels. Created by Harry Pears and Margaret Layson, it is available in two weights, regular and bold. A photo from Gene Gable (a regular contributor of ideas to Jeff Levine Fonts) shows the vintage signage for the Lasher Hatchery in a slightly different take on the classic Art Deco solid letter style. Since good ideas, like eggs can be hatched, thus the font's name of Hatchery JNL.

Cross Stitch Coarse is based on upper case characters 5 stitches tall and contains the upper case characters A-Z, numbers 0-9, ampersand, exclamation and question marks, comma, and period. Also, under the character set are all possible combinations of stitches 5 high from 1 through 5, which allows for the creation of custom glyphs. If the font is set at solid leading, lines following will align and mesh with stitches above. When setting lines of copy, extra leading is required to separate individual lines.

Glass Light was designed in 1912 by Franz Paul Glass for the Genzsch & Heyse foundry. The font is stylewise related to the "Lo types" of the same period. Glass designed a lot of decorative elements to go along with the font. I added Swashes, endletters and smallcaps to the set to make it complete. Since this type of font will probably not be used by many professionals, I did not put all the letters into one big OTF-version since most people don't have OTF-savy software. The type design for Impecunious JNL comes from the 1939 sheet music for "You Don't Know How Much You Can Suffer (Until You Fall in Love)". The name comes from another piece of sheet music, 1899's "Impecunious Davis" [a piece of late 19th century tripe demeaning Black Americans]. However, the word "impecunious" was intriguing. According to the website Merriam-Webster.com, the simple definition of impecunious means "having little or no money". Since we've all been in that spot at one time or another, it became a perfect font name. Impecunious JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Rational TW is the typewriter addition to the Rational family. It is a monospaced font building on the same principles as its proportional, neogrotesque brother, such as maximum legibility and flexibility while combining Swiss and American gothic elements with a modern aesthetic. Due to the monospaced environment, some of its letter shapes like “r”, “m”,“f”, “i” and “w” have been slightly adapted but kept the same in appearance. Rational TW comes in two version: Rational TW Display and Rational TW Text. As indicated by its name, Rational TW Text is not limited to, but works best in small font sizes because it features distinctive letter shapes like a double storey “a” or “g” in order to help differentiate similar glyphs in small sizes. Rational TW Display, on the other hand, creates a geometric uniformity by implementing round shapes in “a” and “g”, giving it a subtle friendly and open character. Article to appear on the font family page: According to the Catholic faith, a well known náhuatl story called "Nican Mopohua" (translated as "Here it's narrate") about the Marianas apparitions on the Tepeyac's hill, to the north of the actual Mexico City. After four apparitions, La Virgen de Guadalupe (LVG) told Juan Diego (JD) that he must introduce himself to the first Bishop of Mexico. JD took in his "ayate" some roses (that aren't natives to Mexico's barren territories) and when he dropped them in front of the bishop, the image of LVG appeared in front of him with indigenous features. I’ve worked a lot in this font that appears to came out of nowhere, just like the image of LVG itself, the fact is that I started first sketching some flowers, because I wanted to do something related to this mexican story, so, taking some features from this flowers I started sketching some letters, for example “r” and “i” and the counter forms for some letters like “a” and “o” (that I didn’t use by the way) and the punctuation marks, all inspired by this leaf forms. Runway is the font that will satisfy the need for speed in your design. Simple lines and curves, a commanding slant, and big sturdy shapes made to cruise at any speed or altitude, through summer breeze or horrible snowstorms. Runway was designed to be tight like an engine chain, powerful like the hum of the engine itself, and simply the best choice when it comes to strength and velocity in design. Initially Runway was meant to be a single font. But during the spacing and kerning stages, Patrick noticed that most of the letters, especially the vowels and the s, can clasp stylishly with the L or the T to make some really funky combinations. That's how the Alternates font was born. After building a few alternates and about 40 "clasped" combinations around the L and the T, the decision was made to take Runway to the next level: OpenType. The OpenType version of Runway is a single font that contains some serious font magic. Some of the many features the font includes: Over 430 characters for that great character map utility you have, automatic to-and-fro small-capping, discretionary ligatures that call up some pretty funky combinations automatically as you type, and a lot of stylistic and contextual alternates for many characters, ligatures and composites. If your design program of choice supports the features of OpenType fonts (Illustrator CS, Photoshop CS, InDesign CS), then you're in for a lot of enjoyment playing with Runway. For those who don't fancy OpenType or can't handle it, Runway is also available (in Regular, Caps and Alt styles) in the usual font formats for both Mac and PC.
