This font was inspired from the medieval Dances of Death patterns, as a modest tribute to the famous engraver Hans Holbein's Alphabet of Death. We have tried to keep the spirit of the time -- its sarcastic humor mixed with its objective and frozen realism. The font, consisting in two complete capital alphabets: Initials and caps, and a lot of separate figures added, is especially improved by strong enlargements, 72 pts and more, and has very good results when printed.

Buttered Toast is something a lot of people enjoy every day; when I was working on this font I was hoping to create something similar: an uncomplicated font enjoyed by many. The resulting typeface is exactly what is promised on the package: Buttered Toast is unobtrusive, yet quite refined. It may even be taken for granted, but I sure hope it will be used and enjoyed by many. Buttered Toast comes with a generous helping of diacritics.

Momotarō is a Japanese legend about a boy who came to earth inside a giant peach. He was found by a childless woman and grew up to be a hero. I'm in a Japanese mood - mainly because lately I have been working with brushes and ink a lot. Momotaro font is a very detailed brush font. It doesn't come with a hero inside a giant peach, but it does give your design work that extra oomph, ahh and wow.

Inspired by the 1977 anthology horror film called "Uncanny", Uncanny Cat PB captures all the awkward fun of the film's titling sequence. Feline revenge has never looked so good. Knip, in Dutch, means ‘cut’. You can tell by the glyphs that I made this font by cutting out the shapes from black paper, gluing it onto white paper and photographing the result so I could digitalise it! I don’t make too many cut out fonts, as it is a lot of work and it often leads to nothing. Besides that, I depend on the paper supply from my kids and they happened to have black paper this time!

I have been making some clean, connected fonts lately and when I was working on another one of these, I felt the need for something chaotic. So, Scapegoat was born. I used a round nibbed steel pen and Chinese ink and the result is quite a messy font. It may look chaotic, but as Nietzsche once said: ‘from chaos comes order’. Amen to that! Comes with double letter ligatures for the lower case and a whole lot of diacritics.

Downward Fall owes its name to one of my favorite Opeth songs, called The Funeral Portrait. The song itself is an uptempo metal composition with rather dark lyrics. This peculiar combination, a mix of good and evil if you will, is what characterizes Downward Fall font: the brushwork is quick, giving the impression of speed. I am reading a great book by David Mitchell, called Number 9 Dream. One of the characters is called Buntaro, so I decided to call my new inky font after him. Like the book, Buntaro is quite unusual: it has no real baseline, comes with some strange characters, feels familiar, but surprises you nonetheless. It was made with a broken bamboo satay-skewer, Chinese ink and a lot of patience. Buntaro comes with a wealth of diacritics.

After my previous typefaces inspired by the flavour of local typography (Massimo, Picadilly & Zigfrid), I'd like to present new one, called CUKIER. This family was designed mainly for branding purposes - visual identity of CUKIER.WORKS Agency. Cukier is a sans serif, geometric typeface, inspired by the vernacular typography from Zanzibar (Tanzania). A lot of letters have intentionally made mistakes in a drawing, and this it what makes the whole font unusual. Family consist 10 styles – 5 weights with italics.

Happenstance came out of a play session with Bezier curves with a sense of fun built into its being. First came play, then came work. Thomas Edison once said,”Creativity is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.” Nikola Tesla thought the opposite. In this case, what started as inspiration took a lot of perspiration to corral into a usable font. So maybe the reality is a) different for different people or b) somewhere in the middle. Just sayin’.
