Elicit Script is a hybrid script family, that can be as casual or formal as the occasion demands. Created by Laura Worthington and Jim Wasco, the design is based on pointed pen Spencerian Script handwriting. “It’s like one of those German italics from the early 20th century, that have beautiful shapes that hold their own,” says Wasco. A universal typeface for books, magazines and newspapers must be economizing, quiet, strong in drawing, but original and peaceful at the same time. Type "for all weather" must resist also many difficulties of printing on different surfaces. Therefore, the basic design "Text" is slightly darker and legible from 6 point size even in a dim light, whereas "Book" reduces the effect of running ink and saves toner cartridge. In offices of smaller companies these lighter fonts are welcomed as toner-savers. Andulka also need less space on the page than other text typefaces and saves paper too. Medium and Bold designs keep the original grace, changing its weight only in shadows. Italics may remind humanistic inspiration and forcing the horizontal of x-height with robust horizontal serifs, whereas Roman lower case maintains the baseline. “Nusaibah” is the first name of an early convert woman to Islam, and the first female to fight in defense of the Islamic religion. Her full name is Nusaibah bint Kaíab Al-Maziniyyah and she took part in the Battles of Uhud, Hunain, Yamama and the Treaty of Hudaibiyah with Islam’s prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Nusaibah is best known for her brave and heroic feat during the Battle of Uhud - fought on March 19, 625 - when she entered the battle carrying a sword and a shield to protect the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from the arrows of the enemy, and she accordingly received several wounds while fighting and these wounds were not healed until the following year. The prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mentioned her distinct courage by saying that in whichever direction he turned in the battlefield, he could see her defending and protecting him. "Nusaibah" is a modern, geometric, and headline Arabic display typeface. What font to choose when it comes to malevolent, wry or downright bad seeded phrases? Negroni can show a nervous, chaotic facade ideal for those rancorous posters, flyers or anonymous messages. Subtly irregular contours and a slight, almost imperceptible difference in the weight of each letter make up Negroni's shy, embittered essence.

Witchcraft is a classic Roman font in three weights and corresponding italics. The ‘v’,’w’,and ‘y’, use the old style join at the top reminiscent of Georg Belwe’s Roman design “Belwe”. The large x-height makes for a powerful headline font but excellent for text setting especially in the lighter weights.

Harlow is a decorative font designed by Colin Brignall which appeared with Elsner + Flake in 1979. The outline alphabet complements the standard characters and its shadows make its forms seem lighter. Most distinctive in harlow font is the contrast between the relatively regular forms of the lower case letters and the extravagent capitals.

Lightly playful, this font had a lot of influences in its design. I liked the look of this style in three fonts and decided to create my own version. This is it. Included is a version called Italic, but it is not a true Italic, just a variation in some lower case letters.

Embossanova was initially sketched to be a monospaced typeface but quickly took on a life of its own. It developed serifs and numerous arcs and stroke weights. I wanted it to retain a pre computer/unmathematical feel so there is a slight variation on curved characters and their relationship to the X height.

Eurasian Stencinitials JNL are modeled from a set of crudely die-cut Old English capital letter stencils that were made in Japan in the Early 1960s. The interesting treatment of the letters (with a slight hint of Japanese calligraphy) has some added bamboo plants for balance and decoration in this digital version.

Treves Sans is a scratchy, messy, hand written display font. It has the look of charcoal or a brass rubbing, reversed in lighter tones it looks like chalk. It reminds me of Edward Gorey's or Eddie Campbell's styles of sketching. It has about 200 glyphs including all those extra pesky foreign features.

Linotype Sallwey Script was designed by Friedrich K. Sallwey in 1980. This typeface has a handwritten character due in part to its slight lean to the right. Sallwey Script is both lively and harmonious and lends texts a private, personal touch. Sallwey Script is best suited to middle length texts and headlines.
