Trad (Träd is Swedish for tree) is inspired by viking mythology and runic alphabets. The hand-lettered title on a piece of sheet music for 1938's "Don't Be That Way" (as recorded by Benny Goodman) featured squared letters with rounded corners, slight variants in line thickness and interesting "overhangs".
