Hand lettering used on the packaging of a space-themed rubber stamp toy set is the basis for Space Deco JNL. Blending the classic thick-and-thin line weights of the Art Deco style with sharply angled cross strokes evoked a sense of movement and "future" in this unique lettering design.

As a font designer for films Henning Brehm delivers fonts with a whip-sharp eye for precision. His latest Vette Letters release, VLNL Agitka is a Cyrillic-inspired (and including) alphabet with both feet rooted in Soviet Union-era propaganda posters. Its design is constructivist (look Mom, no curves!) geometric and strong. Like Russian vodka. Aside from the Regular, Light, Bold and Black weights, Agitka comes in four Neon styles as well. For a dazzling design effect, layer those neons over a regular weight for a star struck embossed-letter effect. The 10th Regiment of Foot is a British military unit raised more than three centuries ago—and perhaps most famous in the U.S. for seeing action on American soil during the Revolutionary War in the Battle of Lexington and Concord and the Battle of Bunker Hill. Military Scribe is modeled after the compact, utilitarian script on the mid- to late-1770s muster rolls of the Tenth of Foot. I incorporated the work of at least three separate scribes, merging their neat old penmanship into a legible disconnected cursive. Perhaps the most versatile of all our vintage handwriting fonts, Military Scribe might faithfully reproduce antique letters, labels, lists, or just about any document of the period. OpenType features include multiple stylistic sets, scores of historical, contextual, and discretionary ligatures (including nine terminal “d”s) lining and old-style figures, ink blots, cross-outs, and full support for Central and Eastern European alphabets—more than 1,000 glyphs in all.

Linotype Tiger is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. This fun font was created by German designers G. Jakob and J. Meißner. Like the font Linotype Sunburst, Linotype Tiger is also a typeface without curves, rather, angular and almost aggressive. The forms are reminiscent of splinters of wood arranged to form letters, numerals and punctuation signs. The font contains five weights which can be combined experimentally with each other, even over each other, or combined with more neutral typefaces. With its energetic character, Linotype Tiger is genearlly suitable exclusively for headlines with point sizes of 18 or larger, although the weight Linotype Tiger Tame can also be used for shorter texts.

Everybody likes to have a picnic: some fresh fruits, cheese, ham, wine and so on. Like a “typographic picnic,” Typnic font system gathers many fonts with different flavors too, and you can enjoy them mixed or on their own. Inspired by the old Stephenson Blake Caps only font Algerian from 1908, this version, named Algerian Mesa, has been freshened up with a new matching lowercase. The original Algerian, on page 142 of the 1908 Stephenson Blake specimen book, was a small caps to a more decorative lining caps and the plain black version, without the shadow line, was named Gloria. Also on page 142 of the 1908 Stephenson Blake specimen book is a shaded Latin font that gave me the idea for the Alt version of Algerian Mesa. The Alt version works well at smaller point sizes combined with the regular Algerian Mesa font on the same page. New for 2016 were Opentype features including original alternates, oldstyle numerals and case sensitive forms, also new is a fully usable Alt version. New for 2022 are the higher x-height, 90% small caps, 80% small caps and all new italic versions. Also new for 2022 are straight sided accent marks replacing the flared or curved accents. While Algerian Mesa includes some alternates our related Tavern font will still remain the version with more alternates and more weights.

Gang Graffiti can be used for: – Marking territory with graffiti. – It's a form of gang advertisement. – Letting people know who's in the gang, living, dead, or in prison. – Which neighborhoods they are at war with. – Who are their allies. Graffiti has along history, specifically Los Angeles gang graffiti, which has has been around since the 1930s. South Central typeface includes uppercase letters, numbers, and select punctuation glyphs.

The extravagant Odin was designed by Bob Newman in 1972. Its figures display constructed basic forms and when set into words, the typeface builds closely set lines. The strong serifs catch the reader's eye and draws it horizontally across the page. The forms of the capital letters are particularly distinctive. In the upper third, the stroke beginnings seem to form a roof over the body of the letter, fragmented by a fine white line that lends them independence and dominance. Odin is best used for headlines in display point sizes.

Argentinean designer Eduardo Manso created the Bohemia type family in 2003. Bohemia's cunning and elegant essence shows off refined letters that evoke the Transitional style typefaces like Baskerville, though most Baskerville-like designs tend not to be as curvaceous as Manso's! True to form, Bohemia shines in smaller text sizes, like 9 point and above, while still maintaining a unique character and spirit. Bohemia is a great alternative to better-known text faces. ITC Drycut is the work of Vancouver-based designer Serge Pichii and gives a twist to the tradition of heavy, woodcut-like typefaces. The font includes all the realistic features of a true woodcut, sharp edges, white cut marks and black slivers. The slivers around the edges suggest traces left after awkward movements of a knife, which are often visible on old woodcuts...Folk artists often didn't care much about refining their carvings and the slivers would have been left as long as the letters remained readable." The lower case alphabet is actually small caps proportioned to match the capitals. The letters of ITC Drycut have a slight slant to the right which lends the font a dynamic character."

Mancunium is a sans serif family with a contemporary monolinear character, though designed with the iconic proportions of Roman capitals in mind. Cord (Zsinór in Hungarian) was originally a commissioned work for a tablecloth pattern with a thread like frame decoration that is actually consist of letters. The lettershapes were being created based on Rovas characters, which were reinterpreted without decreasing legibility. I have seen my share of badly stuffed animals. Most of them via pictures, but also on vacations here and there. They all had this really bad handcraft vibe, but at the same time some really ordinary and kind of cute looks. I did my best to capture this look and feeling in my Badly Stuffed Animal font: clumsy letters made with a blobbly pen, with naive and irregular lines - and the conclusion is something super useful for a project that needs an organic handmade look!

With its split serifs, Vglee looks like it could be a copy of an “Old West” font but it is not. It was constructed by taking a motif and applying it regardless of consequences. Vglee does not have lower-case letters but it does include a full set of Western and Central European accented characters. Its distinctive, odd appearance can be useful in small doses for decorative purposes. The VgleeStar style contains only the ornament. It is intended to be used in layers with Vglee.

These four typefaces, Berlinette NB, Lyonette NB, Marseillette NB and Parisette NB, were designed from the same basic shape, a fanciful geometric form that avoids strict horizontals and uses more offbeat triangular shapes. Berlinette is the medieval Gutenbergian version of the four. It’s like a weird black letter font from the 1930s. It would work well advertising an obscure brand of German beer on the side of a Zeppelin as it circles the soccer stadium during the last match. In a William Burroughs novel.

The Bitstream version of Bell Gothic designed by Chauncey H. Griffith in 1938 for telephone directories of the Bell Telephone Company. It is a good sans serif choice for listings, catalogues and directories as its design is very space saving. The weight of the line is moderate and uniform. Being a clear and easy-to-read font, Bell Gothic is popular now for display and magazine advertising. Cyrillic version by Isabella Chaeva was released by ParaType in 1999. Italic styles added in 2009 by the same designer.

Dubbel Zout in Dutch means ‘Double Salt’. I admit, it sounds better in Dutch… Dubbel Zout is a kind of licorice which we (in Holland) love! Not many people actually like it, but I know of one addict in Denmark, who eats it by the bagful. Dubbel Zout is a ‘crayon-ish’ font - all caps, different upper and lower glyphs that you can mix and a royal assortment of diacritics. It may be an acquired taste, but once you get used to it, you’re hooked!

Hachura is a sketchy typeface designed by Ricardo Esteves. Its general proportions are based on the garalde models, with traditional roman serifs. It was initially made by hand using a drawing technique to create a font that simulates the unfinished aspect of a work in constant progress. This textured face is useful for display sizes, making a very visible presence. Because of its basic dimensions and careful distribution of black and white, it still also very readable in text sizes like 10 or 8 points.

Jasmin is a tribute to the ancient stories of The Thousand and One Nights, in which a main story serves as a connection for a series of other stories, just like all the other glyphs are derived from one of Jasmin's letters or from a sign. A graphic path in which we tried to combine the calligraphy designed with a quill with geometric research. Among the glyphs there is one referring to a letter from a famous font by Paul Renner, made by Fonderia Bauer in 1927.
