Spiraltwists is a family of 2 fonts giving assorted spiral shapes. In each font they're grouped in fours - the same basic spiral in 4 different orientations (N S E W almost), and Spiraltwists has solid lines making up the spirals, Spiraltwists Antique has dotted lines making up the spirals, giving them an antique or rustic appearance. Spiraltwists has heavier spirals on Upper Case, lighter spirals on lower case; plus a group of spirals with a straightened outer end and connecting lines so you get two spiral scrolls joined together by a long line at the top or bottom. I am not one for prophecies of impending disaster and all that, don’t worry! I just liked the name and it seems to suit this handmade font quite well. Symbolic Prophecy was made with a broken bamboo satay skewer and Chinese ink. I quite like using broken satay skewers, as they give a fantastic ‘random’ effect. Use Symbolic Prophecy for your posters, your product packaging and, just maybe, a sign about the end of times… ;-)

The German designer Peter Huschka created Linotype Chineze, a family of typefaces that resemble the calligraphic strokes found in Chinese characters, in 2002. Born from the intersection of the geometric and grotesque typefaces. Aribau Grotesk combines low contrast and generous width proportions with typical traits of american gothics from the early 20th century, like the counters aperture and a double story ‘g’. Driven by the process, some details that come from the geometric style arose, like the clean-shaped figures and the circular dots that convey a more affable and contemporary look. In the Dynamic Seventies, "prismatic" typefaces were all the rage, and few were more popular than variants of Paul Renner's Futura and the Herbert Bayer-inspired Bauhaus. This family of fonts features Futura-like forms in the uppercase and Bauhaus-like forms in the lowercase, so you can mix or match to create just the perfect headline. As always, all versions contain the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets.

Since I designed Mommie you can see a lot of script typefaces with big contrast for big sizes. With Narziss I created a roman interpretation with the very expressive Swirls version. Glenda is again an italic script like Mommie. In the Regular the characters join and it looks like a neatly written sprencerian handwriting. But like Narziss it has got a Swirls version too. Every glyph and swirl is carefully designed to work in every connection. Use Glenda at only very large sizes.

I really like Wales; I like the culture, the people and the language. I also like the Welsh legends, especially the ones about King Arthur and Merlin. I am reading a book about Arthur right now, so when I was working on this font, I wanted to give it a Welsh name. Caerphilly is a town in Southern Wales and is home to an immense 13th century castle (Castell Caerffili). Caerphilly font is based on a 16th century manuscript. I kept the glyphs rough, to give it ‘ye olde’ look. Comes with a hoard of diacritics, a bunch of double letter ligatures and some alternate glyphs as well.

Struffoli are small, marble sized deep fried dough balls from Naples. They are served with a variety of sweet condiments, like honey, sugar and sprinkles. There is nothing deep fried about Struffoli font, nor does it resemble a deep fried dough ball: I just liked the name and at least now I can say what Struffoli are! Struffoli was handmade using a brush and Chinese ink. It does look like a connected script font, but it is not (really): only a few letters connect, making it a more versatile font. Use it for your cookbooks, posters and toy packaging. Rest assured, it comes with a generous serving of diacritics.

The other day, I was cooking a curry and I suddenly realised that we, as a family, eat a lot of meat. At home we do like meat, but given the state our world is in right now, we cannot continue eating meat like there is no tomorrow. I love honey - as a dessert or just as a quick snack. I didn’t really like it as a kid, but I guess that is just a result of people changes taste as time goes. I also love letters and notes - and that I also loved as a kid! And the Honey Burst font is a tribute to people to likes to take notes, and those who likes their letters being legible, but not focusing on height, width and position according to the other letters.
