This was originally brought out as a caps-only font, but later the foundry scrounged up a lowercase that wasn't our idea of a very good match. So we cleaned up the caps and made them a bit bolder, then drew a harmonizing lowercase.

RoyalBavarian was comissioned by King Ludwig the First of Bavaria about 1834. He was probably the greatest king Bavaria ever had, but he fell in disgrace for a short affair with the infamous Lola Montez and subsequently had to resign. He died in 1868, peaceful and happy in Nice on the French Riviera. I happened on an original etching of his type-guidelines for official writers of those days about 20 years ago. I always thought it was a very nice Fraktur (Blackletter), not a sturdy militaristic one as most of them are. Being me, I started with first tests immediately and then just forgot the font on my computer. When I was sorting out old stuff a couple of months ago I happened on the etchings once again and kept on working intermittently on the letters. The Plain cut is pretty much like the king wanted it. Multilingual, semi-connected​ display brush script, Nagamaki is perfect for logos, food packaging, menus, labels, apparel, advertising, cards, branding and more. Nagamaki comes with a set of lowercase swash alternates, ligatures and ending terminals. Inspired by my writing created with Pentel Touch Brush Pen and polished into clean forms, it’s stroke endings on letters like l or t reminded me of Japanese Katana swords. After researching the swords I named the font Nagamaki, which is a type of Katana sword with an extra long handle. It works well in smaller sizes and for more text but it shines in medium to large point sizes. You can access all the OpenType features through Adobe, Affinity and other similar software. With a couple of defining features like double story lowercase g and alternate lowercase r it makes a perfect choice for giving a little character to your designs while keeping everything nice and neat.

Kevin Simpson was five years old when the stylized "E" of the Electrolux vacuum cleaner logo caught his eye. This is his earliest recollection of an interest that ultimately became an obsession. Type remains his major preoccupation, and he admits to attempting to work a good typeface design into any project where he can get away with it. Aitos was inspired by a metal sculpture Simpson saw while driving through the French countryside. "The statue was very strong. It was heavily weathered and had obviously been there for some time, yet it also seemed very delicate and light." Aitos, like the statue, is a rugged design. At first glance, it is chunky and bold, perhaps a little jarring. If you look again, however, you'll see it has refined qualities. Aitos commands attention - yet is still affable.

The current design of "iogen" is a result of years of alterations since it's original concept was born in 2010 and it needed a hallmark to make it authentic. The idea of "a typeface speaking pleasantly" is the basis on which "iogen" is constructed. Hereby, the letter forms are based on sharp directional changes and curved vertical strokes, allowing it to speak clearly and pleasantly. The sharp corners, open apertures and open counters of iogen also ensure legibility in smaller sizes. The Iogen family has 6 members with 3 basic weights with sans and serif styles. It supports the Latin extended character set and opentype features like stylistic alternates, ligatures, fractions, denominators, numerators, superscript, subscript and ordinals. Iogen is a good fit for all of design needs with it’s wide range of character sets and features.

Technically a crowbar is a straight metal rod used for digging. The tool I had in mind when I named this font is called a jemmy or pry bar, but I guess I liked the name crowbar better. Crowbar font, like its namesake, is a very useful tool: its brush-like appearance fits any design, especially if you are aiming for the ‘scary’ look. Comes with a toolbox full of diacritics too!

Cuisine originated from a how-to lettering book from the 1950s. It suggests the script style found on food and beverage labels in the early 20th century. This creamy font does for food advertising what Bodoni does for haute couture. Its simmering, hand-scribed charm captures the complexity of wine and the robust energy of coffee. Lately I have been thinking about rabbits. Not that I have a particular love for rabbits - they’re cute, but also kind of stupid. But as Christmas dinner is approaching, I see more rabbit carcasses lining the shelves of supermarkets. These poor animals never saw the light of day, never felt the grass between their paws and never had a ‘true life’. In honour of the hundreds of thousands of rabbits being slaughtered for Christmas this year, I have named this font: Rabbit Escape. Rabbit Escape is a slightly back-slanted typeface - handmade with a permanent marker I bought in Japan. It is quite unusual, maybe a bit weird, but it will serve you well. Comes with a generous stuffing of diacritics.

Stanzer is an interpretation of wood type combined with the idea of modern stencils. Instead of cutting every letter, we are presenting an example of how a modern stencil typeface could look like, as we have come to the conclusion that almost every letter works without cutting it. Stanzer is a Unicase typeface, available in three OpenType weights: Black, Shadow and Block. Stanzer first started as part of our diploma 2010 (it was called Stanley at that time). The basic idea behind this typeface is that it is fully stencil usable, and, unlike other stencil fonts, does not require any bridges (except for the O and Q). Almost every letter can be sprayed without inserting planks. However, Stanzer also offers the display weight Block, which is only suitable for print or online usage.

Orenji is the Japanese word for Orange: it is a phonetic translation of the English word. I was actually looking for a certain shade of orange (the color), when I stumbled upon this fun word. I already toyed with the idea of creating a font loosely based on my son Sam's handwriting and I figured Orenji would be a good name for it. Orenji is a fun, cute and extravagant font. It has some uniquely shaped glyphs, comes with a giggle and a hug and more diacritics than you can throw a banana at.

In the beginning, this font had been designed for an affiche work as wood pattern which includes one font and medium weight. The stylish design of this font had been inclined us to create more weights and more styles. Daphne Font Family comes in three weights; normal and italic. Linotype Sansara, from Swiss designer Grégoire Poget, is part of the TakeType Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contest 1999 for inclusion on the TakeType 3 CD. This fun font is a type experiment behind whose oriental facade hide Arabic letters, recognizable only at second glance. This font displays generous, pointed ascenders and descenders as well as a bar-like emphasis on the upper third of the figures which connects lines and words and gives them a decorative look. Linotype Sansara reveals an astounding variety of details which bring to mind 1001 Arabian Nights, flowing gowns and snake charmers. This font is best for display in point sizes of 14 or larger.

Barnsley Gothic is a condensed sans serif font family. It was designed by Steve Jackaman (ITF) in 2017. It was developed alongside its sister font family, Steelplate Gothic Pro, and includes support for Latin 1 and Central/Eastern European languages. The family is named after the town of Barnsley, a coal mining town in Yorkshire, England. In 1960, there were roughly seventy collieries within a fifteen-mile radius of Barnsley town center, however the last of these closed in 1994. Barnsley Gothic has a straightforward, industrious, no-nonsense feel, much like the town it shares a name with. Always ready to do the heavy lifting in any design project, Barnsley Gothic is the quintessential workhorse font family.

I've been in a vintage-meets-modern mood in my most recent font construction, and this is no exception. Whiskey Tango is a fun retro-style tall and narrow sans-serif font with a scoop of variety: it includes over 110 items in the Private Use Area, including small caps, alternates, ligatures, and ordinal indicators. There's just enough imbalance in stroke widths to make this font a little goofy and quirky, and really charming.
