Jan Koller designed the Banner typeface family especially for the creation of animated web banners. Banner is best used at 80p without antialiasing. The family comes in 24 styles which, in combination, create great, unusual screen effects. Three different animation modells provide the basis: extrusion, cutting in/out by ‘pixelation’, outline pixel rotation. Squeezing yet more life out of the Revla skeleton! This is Revla Round, a child-friendly version of Revla Sans, completely overhauled so there's no chance of cutting yourself on any corners. Every rounded terminal and corner has been painstakingly drawn, rather than using a round-corners filter. OpenType contextual alternates make for text that is lively and bouncy, without the monotony of obviously repeating letterforms. It's shamelessly fun, but pretty serious at the same time. The range of weights can be used to maintain an even colour across different sizes - use lighter weights for bigger sizes and vice versa. Mein Schatz's (in English: Darling) characteristic feature is the availability of ligatures in the expert set. The font offers – among others – the ligatures sh, sp, st, tz and alternatives for f, l and z. The expert set’s majuscules have curved elements in addition, thus allowing designers to put the typeface to highly individualistic use for displays and logos. Another feature of the font are the two different figure systems. Further to the normal table figures, Mein Schatz also offers old style figures, mainly for use in continuous text. Named in tribute to the members of the American Typecasting Fellowship, this font is an original expression of Jim Rimmer's left-handed calligraphy. It was designed and cut in 24 p in the early 1980s, then cast as foundry type on Jim's own Thompson typecasting machine. This alphabet exhibits classic semi-italic text tension, with sqaurish minuscules and hybrid renaissance majuscules. Jim's unique sense of restrained but attractive typo-calligraphic creativity puts on quite a show here. Fellowship was updated and remastered for the latest technologies in 2013. It comes with plenty of built-in alternates and ligatures. Its glyphset contains over 420 characters, and supports the majority of Latin-based languges. 20% of this font's revenues will be donated to the GDC Scholarship Fund, supporting higher typography education in Canada.

Polydot is an experimental Font, built following its own rules. It has interesting letter shapes, making it a perfect choice for creative packaging and magazine design. At the same time it makes a beautiful, neat but vivid text pattern when used in smaller sizes: Use it for children’s books, food and beverage, cosmetics or health topics. Each Glyph is based on at least one dot on the body line, and has up to two more on the lower case level and the ascender level. Since they have the same size and are on the same height on all letters, no matter what weight and shape, these dots give a strong structure to the typeface, allowing for dynamic and easy letter shapes, inspired by brush strokes. It’s not a hand font but it has the dynamics of one. It has no serifs but provides the structure and readability of a roman type. It has an extensive choice of weights, but it’s characteristic dots have the same size and it has the same tracking through all weights. Try it, it’s special.

Bound to rules, unbound in the usage. Hyper geometric, and minimal contrast. Circulo V1 is based on a font project I originally started because of a client I had. I wanted to create a display and text font for their product design brand, which is all about reducing the amount of necessary materials and production steps. Before I started the course at tipo-g it was called -“REDUCE“ and was more or less finished. The concept was based on the name. How far can letter shapes be reduced to their core geometric concepts and still be identified as letters? But in a way, it lacked a unique approach and was just a generic geometric Sans Serif with a lack of finesse. There was already a glimpse of characteristics visible which would later define Circulo V1. ‍ The high focus on geometric shapes was not of the same severity, and the angle on the stems was less intense. Those, as I call them, fake serifs turned out to be a significant factor in legibility and the characteristic of the font. Besides those changes and improvements, I decided to implicate a new feature to the concept, a condensed style. I quickly realised that it is impossible to keep my perfect circles and half-circles in this style without breaking my rules for the font. This „problem“ turned out to be the most crucial feature of the condensed set. Circular-based Letters will ignore the rules and boundaries of the condensed style and stay as they are. This feature allows the user to create a unique rhythm in their texts, and if you use the variable font, you can decide how intense this rhythm will be. In this situation, the user can choose which letters are allowed to keep their shapes and which will be put in their condensed corset. All, some or none of them, you decide.

Killer Garbage is a grunge version of my Spitzenklasse font. It's worn and torn real bad - but not more than the font is still legible even at very small sizes. I don't fancy grunge fonts that only has one or two versions of each letter available. The text usually gets very static and predictable, because the same letters are repeated again and again. That's why I have included 6 different versions of each letter in this font! And the great thing about this is that the letters automatically cycles as you type! Forget everything about repeating the same letters all the time!!!

Hello! Presenting an originally designed, decorative font, named Bryzhi. The main goal of this font is a flowing liquid reflection of characters. Conference is a bold, playful sans serif, which was designed in 1978 by Martin Wait. Conference's letters are very curvaceous; many of them bulge lovingly outward from their centers. This typeface offers a different feeling than is available from most contemporary sans serif display faces; Conference is lively, without sacrificing readability. The type should be set in large, display sizes, where the eye can better appreciate its loving forms.

Many current poster artists like to reference the graphic type styles that were popular in the ’60s and ’70s. Zaftig is a contemporary font that takes the geometric and blocky inspiration from that era but then steps off in a modern direction. At first glance, it may appear that the capitals of Zaftig all take up the same amount of space, but certain letters have been designed proportionally for a better flow. Zaftig contains the basic character set and will work for most European languages. Font designed from this who was used by an unknown printer in Lyon (France) to print the “Conte de Griseldis ” (Griseldis' tale), from Petrarque, inspired by Boccace, in 1495. The original font has a relatively small number of special characters and ligature, for the time. This font includes “long s”, naturally, as typicaly medieval but numerous letters - as accented ones - were added for this version. A render sheet, enclosed with the file, helps to identify them on keyboard. It is used variously in web-site titles, posters and fliers design, editing ancient texts or greeting cards as a very decorative and fine font... This font works at a small size like 9, remaining clear and easy to read on screen, but always better when printed.

Now here's a font that won't spoil anything! It's my ALL CAPS brush font with slightly uneven and quirky lines. Just enough to make font look lively and fresh, but not overdoing it. Every letter has 7 different versions, which automatically cycles as you type - and I have added an extra SMALL CAPS for each letter. Exchange every letter here and there with SMALL CAPS, and you will get an even more authentic result!

JennerikInfml is a friendly, casual typeface family that has the appearance of neat hand printing. It began as the italics to Jennerik, but I ended up separating it and giving it a different set of upper-case letters. Although its lower-case letters were designed as italics, it was originally published in 1992 with three weights as upright letters without a slant or skew. The revision of 2020 added the oblique or slanted styles.

Serifs gone crazy! They are legible and recognisable and at the same time jumpy, skewed and random! What makes it really cool is that every letter has 5 different versions - and they automatically cycle as you type. That will make your text look quite random and more authentic (rather than obviously repeating letters!) Solo is a renovation of an Arabic font designed by Sultan Maqtari in 2012 Solo is distinguished by its single and unconnected letters, as is the case with other Arabic fonts. Its letters are contemporary and do not dispense with the features of Arabic letters that are clear, legible and simple. But it gives user different creative possibilities, This font can be used in all artistic and creative projects in print and screen.

An image of a vintage British lettering stencil set [probably circa 1960s] spotted in an online auction inspired North End Stencil JNL. The original lettering was a hybrid of both stencil and solid letter forms, but for the digital version all of the characters were given the stencil treatment. North End Stencil JNL is named after a district in London, and the type face is available in both regular and oblique versions.

FourJuly contains three patriotic fonts that might be fun to use in July. They are also very hard to read, but perhaps not as hard as the somewhat similar letters in the fonts of FlagDay. FourJuly A has square, blocky letters with star interiors. FourJuly G and FourJuly H add diagonal stripes. FourJuly G and FourJuly H can be layered on top of FourJuly A to create bicolored letters. Arzachel is a humanistic sanserif with a big x-height and a specific organic look. Its design is scientifically sharp and efficient in small type sizes as well as rugged and dramatic in headlines. Arzachel’s essential feeling comes from several features: all the letters are slightly sloped, stem terminations are flared at the top, and the terminals in letters a, c, e, f… are widening with the inside parts completely flat. The stroke contrast is low in the regular weight while it increases in the black; finally the capitals have an inscriptional flavor. Despite being a sanserif (thus a product of recent typography) Arzachel’s roots stretch back to the Renaissance tradition: Olocco took inspiration from some of the early and rather weird types cut in Venice in the 15th century. Arzachel was conceived during Olocco’s MA in Reading to provide a companion for his Zenon for use in small type sizes. But instead of expanding the Zenon family with optical sizes, the designer decided on a sans with its own personality rather than a sanserif version of Zenon with chopped-off serifs.

Over the past couple of years I received quite a number of unusual and surprising requests to modify my type designs to suit projects of personal nature, but none top the ones that asked me to typeset and modify tattoos using Burgues Script or Adios. At first the whole idea was amusing to me, kind of like an inside joke. I had worked in corporate branding for a few years before becoming a type designer, and suddenly I was being asked to get involved in personal branding, as literally “personal” and “branding” as the expression can get. After a few such requests I began pondering the whole thing from a professional perspective. It was typography, after all, no matter how unusual the method or medium. A very personal kind of typography, too. The messages being typeset were commemorating friends, family, births, deaths, loves, principles, and things that influenced people in a deep and direct way, so much so that they chose to etch that influence on their bodies and wear it forever. And when you decide to wear something forever, style is of the essence. After digging into the tattooing scene, I have a whole new respect for tattoo artists. Wielding that machine is not easy, and driving pigment into people’s skin is an enormous responsibility. Not to mention that they're some of the very few who still use a crafty, hands-on process that is all but obsolete in other ornamentation methods. Some artists go the extra mile and take the time to develop their own lettering for tattooing purposes, and some are inventive enough to create letters based on the tattoo’s concept. But they are not the norm. Generally speaking, most tattoo artists use generic type designs to typeset words. Even the popular blackletter designs have become quite generic over the past few decades. I still cringe when I see something like Bank Script embedded into people’s skin, turning them into breathing, walking shareholder invitations or government bonds. There’s been quite a few attempts at making fonts out of whatever original tattoo designer typefaces can be found out there - wavy pseudo-comical letters, or rough thick brush scripts, but as far as I could tell a stylish skin script was never attempted in the digital age. And that’s why I decided to design Piel Script. Piel is Spanish for skin. In a way, Piel Script is a removed cousin of Burgues Script. Although the initial sketches were infused with some 1930s showcard lettering ideas (particularly those of B. Boley, whose amazing work was shown in Sign of the Times magazine), most of the important decisions about letter shapes and connectivity were reached by observing whatever strengths and weaknesses can be seen in tattoos using Burgues. Tattoos using Adios also provided some minor input. In retrospect, I suppose Affair exercised some influence as well, albeit in a minor way. I guess what I'm trying to say is there is as much of me in Piel Script as there is in any of the other major scripts I designed, even though the driving vision for it is entirely different from anything else I have ever done. I hope you like Piel Script. If you decide it to use it on your skin, I'll be very flattered. If you decide to use it on your skateboard or book cover, I'll be just as happy. Scripts can't get any more personal than this. Piel Script received the Letter2 award, where they selected the best 53 typefaces of the last decade, organised by ATypI.

Its a stylised geometric sans serif family with extreme cuts, sharp angles and multi-sensory interactive ligatures. Affected characters are spread into three upper-case only subfamilies, with distinct styles, and different personalities. The bold character breaks and considered ligatures create edgy, modern type that feels like bespoke typography. Ardella Edges three subfamilies appear as - X01, X02, X03 These three styles create thousands of combinations with options from super minimal to the more experimental. This is a hands on designer package, available in 9 weights, with italic and outline faces and as a variable font - each one containing over 550 glyphs. Full European latin based language support. Ardela Edge's three family concept means all character alternates are accessible to all, on any software. The cut glyphs feature as the CAPS of the font, whilst the unaffected letters appear as the lowercase. Many subtle ligatures are accessed by typing in all caps, however to access all ligatures requires software with opentype capabilities, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or Inkscape.

Fishhook is a letterbat font that makes letters from fishhooks and barbs. In the plain version the fishhooks look more realistic, but the bold version may be more satisfying from a typographical perspective.

These modern, handwritten letters can be used for fancy headings or images. The characters aren't oriented straight or orderly, but a bit random. So they look like they were written by a human.

I like cookies. Especially butter cookies and ginger nuts. The word cookie comes from the Dutch word ‘koekje’ - which means exactly the same. Cookie Crumble is a cute little font that I made on a rainy day. I just needed something that looked and sounded happy and I guess it applies to this font. Cookie Crumble comes with a bunch of alternates, a full set of diacritics and a bit of sunshine to chase away your rainy day.

Standard Request is 100% handmade, and was inspired by both grafitti and comic book lettering. When viewed at large sizes, the handmade look and feel really stands out - at the same time, Standard Request, is super legible even at really small sizes. I've added 5 slightly different versions of each letter, and they automatically cycle as you type!

Sweepy is based on his popular Pooper Black but it is lighter and has connecting letters. Sweepy is a brush script that is casual and fluid. In the expanded OpenType version Sweepy is loaded with over 50 alternate characters and ligatures that offer more flexible lettering options. (Sweepy Basic includes 230 glyphs, Sweepy Pro includes 462 glyphs.)

Coverack was inspired by some hand lettering spotted by Dave Nalle on a pub menu blackboard during a recent trip to England. It's in the tradition of Celtic uncial lettering, but is extra bold and has some fantastical embellishments. The name comes from a lovely little town on the Cornish coast where the designer stayed during the trip.

Tectura is hand drawn letters that come to you from the typefounders.
